My battle started with noticing that only one Poke Ball on my opponent's slot was occupied, and that it was occupied with a Mewtwo. He started out with Amnesia, I with my Jolteon's Pin Missile. I got it down to 68% and paralyzed it before it went down to a Psychic.

5-1

Next was Snorlax. I figured that if I could waste its PP enough, it would be worthless. I Amnesia'd and he got a CH Psychic, bringing me to 34%. I Amnesia'd again, and it was paralyzed. I Rested, then it Rested and I used Amnesia and Ice Beam. It used a CH Psychic, then a miss Psychic and I rested. I basically rested a bunch more until it killed me.

4-1

I chose Articuno next. It Psychic'd, I Ice Beam'd, hoping for a freeze. It used Psychic again, bye bye Articuno.

3-1

Next out was Mew. It Ice Beamed (I was hoping it wasn't packing anything but Psychic) and I used Double Team. It missed the next Ice Beam, and I used Softboiled. It was a long war of Ice Beam and Softboiled, but the genetic one finally won.

2-1

I was getting desperate. I sent out Gengar, thinking Mewtwo was out of Psychics so I could Haze. I was wrong.

1-1

My last Pokemon: Lapras. I was saving this one for last because I thought Mewtwo would be out of Psychics by this time and be forced to use Ice Beam. It used a Special-felling Psychic, I used DT and was at 22%. It used Ice Beam, I was at less than 1%. I Rested. Did this mean that it was finally out of Psychics, that it was forced to waste away its Ice Beams while I Rested, that I had actually beaten El Cheapo himself?

Well, let's just say that he had used Psychic only 15 times before I thought that.

1-0

Whoever thinks Mewtwo isn't cheap deserves to be shot.

HAHAHAHA that was me!!!

I got bored with Counter-Strike giving me shitping, so I decided to play pokeyman for the first time in like five months. Didn't want to make a real team, so decided to use Mewtwo as my only poke to see if I could win.

ROTFL, I was thinking about posting this but I didn't have the time to change it from a raw battle log.

And btw, you knew I had one poke; you could've used your pokes accordingly. In that position I don't think he's cheap.

Toby will only beat a Mewtwo if Mewtwo is not Packing Thunderbolt, or gets very lucky.

"Mewtwo is not cheap" - Some guy who wants to forget he said it.

"Saying that is like saying water isn't wet" - A genious who's name starts with "L" and ends with "anderZ" .

Anyway; Mewtwo is cheap, no matter how you look at it.

Mewtwo with T-Bolt is rare where I battle.I mostly see psychic,thunder,blizzard,H-Beam.
And I'm a bit lucky
And if you are afraid of a T-Bolting Mewtwo, you can still try a kazam.

Which was exactly what I was trying to do. I was a tad uncertain about whether I should Parafusion-Pandora it, so I tried PP-wasting it instead. I want a rematch...

Anyway; Mewtwo is cheap, no matter how you look at it.

Restricting Mewtwo's level by ten or even five would go a huge way to curb its cheapness to the point where it could be used in regular battles.

Dare we compare:
Lv. 90 Mewtwo
Lv. 95 Mewtwo
Lv. 100 Alakazam
Lv. 100 Hypno

Damage Psychic does to Lv. 100 Muk (298 SD):
Lv. 90 Mewtwo (365 SA): 257 max
Lv. 95 Mewtwo (385 SA): 285 max
Lv. 100 Alakazam (368 SA): 286 max
Lv. 100 Hypno (244 SA): 194 max

Max stat comparison:
L90 Mewtwo / L95 Mewtwo / L100 Alakazam / L100 Hypno
Health: 374 / 394 / 313 / 373
Attack: 286 / 302 / 198 / 244
Defence: 250 / 264 / 188 / 238
S. Atk: 365 / 385 / 368 / 244
S. Def: 250 / 264 / 268 / 328
Speed: 322 / 340 / 338 / 232

Lv. 90 Mewtwo is certainly more down-to-earth, is it not? Lv. 95 Mewtwo's Physical endurance drops from 20th to 35th rank; Lv. 90's to 58th.

I think if Mewtwo, Lugia, Houou and Mew were restricted to Lv. 90 and Celebi to Lv. 95 (hey, I can compromise ) they could be freely used without your opponent having to specifically prepare for them.

In the PMPT (Past Meets Present Tournament) that I'm planning (it has a thread here) I cut off Mewtwo's maximum level at 87. This puts its Speed at 312 and its Special A at 353. Special D is even lower (it's a GSC tournament that uses RBY Pokemon, so it s 2 stats.)

Mew also has a limit on its level for my tournament, if you care.

Based in RBY, it's not really the stats that are killer on M2. It's the fact that Amnesia powers up both Spc Att and Def. Since the Spc Att part was wiped out with the release of GS, it's a little safer to battle against M2 now.
