I'll take that challenge...seeing that an Onix explosion can't even kill an unreflected kazam in one hit...hell sure, I would even if it did.

Don't doubt Onix.
I use 'em. He rocks.
It's biggest advantage over the other Rocks is Screech. Once, there was this DTin' Aerodactyl. I was able to Screech like bloody mad against it, 'cause what did I have to worry about? Running out of PP? Ha!
It couldn't hurn 'Nix much, and I'd just Rest off the scratches it managed. Then, after 3 successful Screeches, Rock Slide!
Bam!
One dead Aero.
"Ew, Onix has low Special," some say. If a Water or Grass hits any Rock/Ground, it's goin' down... so what's your point?
Onix is one of those under-used Pokes ya just gotta know how to use right.

I use Onix as well. People simply think you're a newbie when you use it and underestimate you.

Here's a fun tale:

I once fought a DTResting, Swift Dancing Scyther. I eventually ran out of PP except for 1 Explosion, and it connected for a critical hit.

Onix is also great for taking on any Pokemon who has a Confuse Ray fetish. Crap ass attack and uber defense go very far.

I always try to recreate it, but obviously my opponents have heard about it or are just too bright to fall for it
