Does Substitute work in any of the new PBS programs? Which attacks don't work?

Hey KeroKato, was it your intention for Sub to block paralysis and sleep? PBS normally uses Gameboy rules, not Stadium...

Hmmm...I dunno if it was or not...maybe you were just really lucky also...:S (or extremely unlucky if you were the one sleeping, because I never remember it doing that)

Like, the day after I made Substitute, I remembered that it couldn't block sleep. The next day I changed it.
It's been fixed for a long time, White-Cat.
One of the only things that may not be fixed right now is PinMissiles and similar attacks. I don't know if TeeJay uploaded the code with those attacks fixed yet.

Yeah, but according to recent war stories posted in this Cafe, Sub still blocks Thunder Wave, which it shouldn't under Gameboy rules.

Really? I thought Sub only didn't block Sleep attacks? It can't block PAR?

Dammit no. All the strategies recently made will go down the drain. Substitute should block paralysis and confusion and poison. That is it. Not sleep. That's gay. How the hell else will we counter all of these dam subbing pokemon? I always put them to sleep with my egger/jynx. In conclusion. Substitute block paralysis, poison, and confusion. Substitute NOT block sleep.

Actually, what Wintermute is saying is, the sub is immune to status changes, but the Pokemon behind is not always protected.

As long as the Sub isn't on a Mewtwo, I agree. (Snorlax makes short work of subbing Mewtwos, tho.)

By the way, I just added a few lines to the Substitute page. Basically, we used to explain that Screech won't affect a sub, but we didn't explicitly state that Amnesia would.

Well, it does.

I'm using a grep to get my Surfing Pikachu, so I've suddenly become interested in Substitute, tho I never cared much before.

One of the few things you can do to stop a rampaging Mewtwo is slap some status effects on it. Too bad Stadium is so relentlessly pro-Mewtwo...
