Hmm, I thought I had responded to this thread with the recommendation to get Ico, but it turns out I hadn't.
It's a pretty hyped game, and those who like it (like I do) tend to go on about how it evokes emotions and stuff, making it pretty hard to find objective praise for the game. IIRC, Wintermute likes it, whatever that's worth.
It's basically an adventure game, you play as a boy imprisoned in a mysterious castle, and you navigate traps and solve puzzles to get out - but there is a twist: you look out not only for yourself, but also for a girl, imprisoned along with you.
The graphics are great, even though the game is from 2001, and the environment is very well designed, so if you're the type who can immerse yourself into a game completely, Ico will give you many fine moments.

I expect to go back to SC5 at some point, but now I've got to do a bunch of jumping around as a wolf for a little while, I guess. Also I should have mentioned the art in the wolf game is really cool and in general it has a nice tone and an excellent style. The writing is nothing special, but already more interesting than San Andreas.
Also I will fucking 5-Star Cheap Trick' Surrender one day. One fun thing about Guitar Hero is that as long as the guitar is sitting out in the open, you see it there and think "Hmmm, maybe just one song."
Also also I believe I remember Mute talking about that Ico game, and I think I know a real spoiler about it too, since we were talking about great moments in gaming. Still, that sounds pretty cool. I'd like to check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.
Also it would have been nice if that weird mystery horror game (I think it was actually for GameCube) that fucks with your senses, didn't have tons of spoilers in the first paragraph of just about every review. The tricks they pull on you in that game sound really cool.
