I have this Naruto mask and a pack of trading cards that wont make $5 on ebay.
I'll send them to the first person to give me a good reason to do so.

I watched about 30 seconds of this on Cartoon Network. Boring on the order of something like Yu-Gi-Oh! Just not interesting.

A naruto is a type of kamaboko with a red whirling patern, used as a topping for noodles such as ramen or hot soba. It's named after the Naruto Strait.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamaboko
It's also the name of an anime that all the stank anime otaku in North America are obsessing over, causing them to stay on their lazy asses instead of , oh, actually going out and looking for cool stuff on Japanese television that isn't anime.

I laughed so freakin hard when I read this. I don't really know why -- maybe it's because the sentence has both English and Japanese words in it, or because "kamaboko" sounds funny when you insert it into an English sentence and read the sentence aloud, or because I love eating kamaboko with shabu shabu.
In any case, kamab0k0~~~!
Also, Naruto doesn't seem to interest me for some reason. A friend showed me two episodes (where Naruto and co. fought someone who could use the power of ice and make mirrors, or something like that), but it never really stuck. In fact, I thought the episodes were downright awful. When Naruto debuted on the Cartoon Network, I gave it another chance and watched the first two episodes, but it still wasn't clicking. Note that this is coming from someone who is a huge fan of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters and has seen 198 out of 224 of the episodes in Japanese. (I haven't finished the last arc of the story because I've had absolutely no time, and also, I'm waiting for the fansubs to appear.)

This place never ceases to amaze me o.o.
Still alive and kicking... and I still have yet to ever change my password from the stupid random one >.<
Anyway, Naruto... Slightly middle-aged japan-style world, where nations determine their strengths based on their militaries. Their militaries are comprised of shinobi, with various powers and abilities to aid them in battles. Many children are trained from a young age to become shinobi, as the main hero did, and they work their way up in the world... or try to, anyway. It's not easy... the hero starts out as a 12-year-old, with a nasty past, nearly no talent, and little brainpower. Plus, killing people is hard for kids.
Anyway, yeah. Lots of cool techniques, called Jutsu, lots of cool characters, and concepts taken from modern science, old chi theory, and old japanese lore. I got really into it, once I got past the first [ever-so-cliche] 16 episodes. It gets very gripping, since it has so many main characters, and everyone striving to achieve their goals, and to grow, and whatnot... yeah. At least 20 "main" characters.
