Subject pretty much says it all... I just remembered seeing this music video which was pretty cool, but I can't recall the artist.

It was animated, and was a story about a teenage girl (I think) who was a soldier, and lots of planes took off carrying nukes, and she saw a butterfly and thought war was awful, or something. Lots of shots of the weapons and vehicles.

The video was pretty monochromatic - everything was black or dark grey/green, and the girl was white. Some red and yellow on the warning signs.

I think the song was pretty slow, a female singer, it could possibly have been some kind of depressed R'n'B, I don't remember it very well.

Any ideas on which video it could have been? Or, alternately, anyone got a better place where I can ask this, and get an answer? I tried googling for "'music video' (animated OR animation OR cartoon) (war OR bombs OR weapons) butterfly", but it doesn't give much...

I remember Matthew Sweet had a pretty cool anime video years ago. It doesn't help this topic, however.

I haven't been watching much music videos recently, but the only anime-related one I can think of of late were the series animated for daft punk's Interstellar album by Leiji Matsumoto (of Captain Harlock and Star Blazers/Space Battleship Yamato fame). Other than that, I seem to remember a Pearl Jam video a while back animated by Todd Macfarlane which, of course, is not anime, but your description of this mystery video vaguely reminds me of it. And yes, I also remember the Matthew Sweet video and it had Lum from Urusei Yatsura in it.

If the screens found on this page is from the Pearl Jam video, then no, it was not what I was thinking about [Wink]

Well, it wasn't really *anime* per se, but it was anime inspired (at least I thought so).

It had this cel-shaded look - I'm pretty sure it was CG (as in cel-shaded 3D models) and not hand-drawn.

I've only seen it once though, probably during some "alternative" hour or something. I don't really have any hopes of finding out who did it, and it's not like it's the end of the world (maybe it was crap), I just remembered I saw it and thought it was pretty cool.
