computer forensics sounds cool...
That 4.0... It means you can hack dead harddrives, extract stuff from it even if it's burnt, or what?
I bet it's a real conversation starter at parties...

yeah I bet talking about semigroups (math->abstract algebra) is about the only way to top that...

I love talking about stuff like that (not that I know anything about semigroups, but for most crowds, inverse substitution of integrals will do) in public, and watch the expression on the faces of the teenage girls who think they're all that who just overheard.

just to make this clear: a set(G, o) with an operation "o" is a semigroup if "o" associative. It's a group if there is also a neutral and an inverse element. But I guess noone is interested anyway. (and I must admit I usually need all my discipline to focus durig math lectures)

Did any of you ever have to tackle the "Dot Product" and "Cross Product" ?
(I hated sheers)

Yes. I failed an exam on that a couple of months ago. That's what you get for thinking you can get through University just as easy as you got through high school...

Am I the only person that finds college significantly easier (grade-wise) than high school due to the lack of busy-work homework assigments? I never did those in high school and never got good grades, whereas I put forth the same lack of studying and add in some lack of going to class and do much better in college...

Yes.
Well, you are certainly right that one does not need to put in as much work into homework as one did in high school, but at least I still need to study.
It's great that you don't have the constant pressure from homework though - that almost killed me in high school. But so did the final weeks before the last three exams (which all came almost at the same time), too
I guess it depends on what you're studying. A friend of mine studies computer science, and when I asked him "You think it's gonna be hard?", he replied "Nah, I already know what they'll teach me here. I just want it confirmed on paper". Go figure...

Try doing a degree that actually contributes something and say it's easy hippolips.

Well the linear algebra prof covered about the whole school-vector stuff (basicly IRł: adding, straight line, planne, dot/cross product) in 1,5h. We did the same things about half a year at school (with all examples and all exercises *ZzZzzz* - i never did the homework and did quite well anyway)
But we are using dot/cross product a lot durig physics exercises.

It is so cool. We used Ultimate Toolkit and EnCase, so we didn't have to learn debugging features, it separated files into groups for us.
Only at geek parties. Like here haw haw ![[PBJ Time!]](graemlins/pbjtime.gif)

itt discuss your favorite brand of shoe.

newbalance is my favorite shoe because they combine style and comfort in an affordable package suitable for people of all ages. the shoe in my picture is not representative of the shoes i actually own, those are white with grey trim and a light grey N with blue outlining. and some blue trim. they are "400" style.
