I liked watching the Table Tennis games. The women's matches were just plain silly, because I only caught one between this one crazy american who, whenever she got a point was like "YAOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
The men's were more fun to watch, as they got about 10 ft away from the table and were landing the ball on the table. Also, we suck at basketball.

Once the torch was fully upright, it looked more like a giant flaming paintbrush than a joint or a bong.

In all honesty, the Olympics have been fucking great. Part of it is that they have half a day to edit shit down so that we only see the best stuff. On NBC, there's a bit too much focus on the Merkins (omg yay yay omg yay teh merkin got teh bronz oh yah also sum furner wif a funy name got teh wurld rekird), but I like the way they show a little of something, then a short event, then go back to the original thing...they just break it up nicely so it doesn't get boring.
Also since it isn't live, they can edit out all the waiting, which is great.
I mean, I never thought I would care about gymfuckingnastics, but the contests have been incredible, and it's the sort of thing where you don't really have to know all the details to see if something's good or not. If it doesn't look right, then they probably did something wrong.
Except for this little Chinese girl that broke the laws of physics.
Anyway, even if you think you'd find it boring, give it a shot. I've really been enjoying it.
Also women's beach volleyball is hotter than pr0n.
Also the equestrian stuff is not interesting. If the horse is the fucking athlete, I don't care. It's like NASCAR without explosions. Sucks.
Also that computer technology where they show you the world record line kicks ass.

Also there is this high jumper chick who is ludicrously hot.
I never noticed a world record line though.
I saw it twice tonite. Once the guy got the record, the second time he had it, but you could see the line passing him by and he lost it.

During the Gymnastic's Women's Team Event (finals), the Chinese girl falling on her forehead after her routine on the uneven bars was a major problem for them. Not to mention something scary to watch. She was okay after she fell off though.
I think Track & Field will start next week.
Does anybody know what's up with that weightlifting guy in all of the commercials? You see him a lot, but I've never seen anything on him in the status reports.
p.s.: Tennis is one of the most boring sports I have ever watched.

I'm lucky to live in western NY, close to Buffalo, because we get a couple Canadian channels, and they are completely unbiased with the airtime they give during events. Sure, in between it's all interviews with Canadian athletes, but during the events you get to see every team attempt in the event, plus the commentary is totally unbiased.
I haven't been following the Olympics this year, unfortunately, all the other cooks quit so I've been working all night, every night sonce last Thursday. And since I'm moving back to school on Sunday, my days are filled with shit I have to do to prepare for it.

Swimming alone apparently is responsible for 32 medals, so the first week is pretty much all swimming, according to the news. This is also why we've been sucking so bad so far, we're pretty weak in swimming, but the rowing events this weekend are supposed to be all ours.

I haven't really watched anything besides the opening ceremony... I'm not into sports, but maybe I should give it a shot...
The opening ceremony was way cool though. It's cool to see so many countries, it's fun to see a troop consisting of only one athlete (Liechtenstein anyone?), and it's just something really awesome about people marching into a huge fucking stadium at night with 10's of thousands of spectators cheering, techno music playing.
I think I at least should check out women's volleyball... I've heard from a lot of sources that it's really hot...

This was average for us(Australia). Not all our swimmers did so well neither shooters, archers, heck even our basketball team lost(girls gold medal game had some dodgy refs).

Curling isn't bad if you watch it at x300 speed.
My stoopid new DVR has so much storage space that I'm basically watching all of the Olympics. It's not as good as the Summer ones (the chicks are all wearing armor, so you can't tell if they're hot or not...and they probably aren't anyway), but it's still cool.
The speedskating where everyone is on the ice at the same time is awesome.
Hockey takes too long, and 99% of the time, nothing is happening.
The snobo cross was great. And I like all the of skiing with the flippity-flops. The straight distance ski jumping is boring and dominated by some kid everyone says looks like Harry Potter, but doesn't. The 30-second skip is great for that one, although there are so few crashes, even that is paying too much attention to it.
The downhill skiing is full of spectacular crashes, so I watch that closely.
Tech-wise, they have the speed-line on the ice, and this cool thing where they overlay two athletes doing the same run, so you can see what they were both doing at the same time. They don't use that tech enough, because it's cool.
Also it's good thing I finally got HD, because they are still using the tiny fonts that pissed me off in Beijing.
Also also I have no images of super hot Olympic chicks. A few of them look good photoshopped, but most are a bit unpleasant. Australian gold medal-winning snowboarder chick is kind of hot, I guess.
Also also also wtf is up with South Korea and speedskating? They are monsters.
