Tomorrow is my last day of 11th grade. I have two finals and then I will offically be an OMG HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR. I'm sure many of you will be completing various types of school years yourself and many of you will just be continuing your career or job.
I have a very very busy summer. My summer job takes up a sound portion of my time - I work at a local community pool in the food service industry for the Department of Community Services (read: snack shack). In addition to this job, I will be working at a Writing Camp as a Computer Support person for one week.
Probably the most exciting things happening this summer to me is my participation in the Pennsylvania Governor's School of Information Technology hosted at Penn State. I applied this past school year and was selected to go. The program is free by the Department of Education of PA and I will be spending 5 weeks living at Penn State and studying more about technology. I will be taking three "classes" if you will - Intro to IT (mandatory for all students), Dynamic Web Publishing (my "upper" level elective) and Games: Artificial Intelligence(my team community service project). The last bit is the most exciting to me: I want to be a game programmer and we'll be making our own game. The game is going to be a fun and creative way for high school kids to play and at the end learn what career suits their personality (like those tests you take in your guidance office). It'll be a huge break to have my name on a functioning game. Basically, it'll be much like college, and its going to be a lot of fun.
I also will have my last band camp 2 weeks before school starts. And I will also have to complete some summer school work for normal school, such as Honors English 12 reading and AP Calculus problems. I have a few projects in mind... but we'll see how much time I have left over.
Anyway, this break is going to go super fast.
What are you all going to be up to?

I am going to get a job to get computer upgrades, play all the games I've wanted to, and hang out with my friends as much as I can before I go 300 miles south to UC Santa Barbara...

Nothing special planned. Hang out at home, or maybe go to the countryside where my family has a small house together with other relatives.
I've already had summer holiday for 2 friggin' weeks, and I haven't done a single worthwhile thing. Met some friends and played some M:TG drafts (Fifth Dawn is cool), but mostly just the usual eat-Internet-sleep routine, which is even more useless when there's no "school" in it. I fear that, unless I go to our summe house (which as no Internet or TV), it'll be the same for 2 months.
I think I should take up jogging, or start playing videogames more seriously, though I fail to find them fascinating for more than 20 minutes at a time nowadays.
What's keeping me from doing stuff I should do (clean up my room, read a whole stack of books, sort my LEGO brick collection, take up a new hobby) the most is my constant tiredness. It's not like "I'm sleepy", since I sleep about 10 hours/day now, it's more "My head is filled with lead and I think and react slowly". That's why I've considered jogging - I hear physical activity (which at present, for me, is nonexistant, as has been so the last year) is good if you're tired.
A part of me still fantasizes about me being social and getting a girlfriend.

I'm at university for the summer. On the one hand, it sucks, because all my friends are home for the summer and I'm 8 hours away. On the other hand, being on campus during the summer is a hell of a lot nicer than being on campus for the winter.

I ended school 3 weeks ago. Started my landscaping job, worked for four days, then severely sprained my right ankle. Can't work until at least mid-July, can't walk without cruthes for at least another week. And the asshole who did it to me hasn't even apologized yet (two weeks later).

I've been thinking about going to Ontario to work in some diamond mine town for a few months. Can't beat the $23 starting wage.
But if not, then I'll get a shitty minimum wage job in Vancouver.
I've got until September 27th this year, and my break started April 25th. I never thought I'd say this, but I miss college.

I've pretty much got my summer routine down at this point, since I'm in (I think) the 6th week of it now...
Summer weekday: 730am: Wake up, shit-shower-shave-etc 800am: Get in car and start driving 830am: Arrive at quality coffee/bagel place, order, eat 845am: Get back in car and continue driving 900am: Arrive at the psych office I work in 900am-1200pm: File stuff, and do other office type stuff 1200pm-1230pm: Eat lunch somewhere 1230pm-430pm: More office work stuff, mostly phones this go around (think male secretary) 430pm: Leave office and drive towards home 515pm: Arrive home, go to sleep 630pm: Wake up, eat dinner 700pm: Leave house for whatever the hell I'm gonna be doing that evening... hang out with friends somewhere, basically 100am-200am: Arrive home somewhere in here, and go to sleep. (Rinse and repeat)
Summer Weekend: 1200pm: Wake up and wander around lost (All the useless hours around here): Eat, watch sports, sit around, play video games, etc etc etc 600pm (or so): Leave house, meet friends somewhere for some food, then go do stuff..... 100am-400am: Arrive home and pass out (Rinse and repeat)
All in all, a decent summer, makin $10/hour and having fun for the most part, meh...

Working 10 hour days painting houses, teaching the marching band at my old high school, rehearsing for the two bands I'm in, working out, and I still have time to hang out with friends.

Let's see... I have to be getting a job somewhere to help pay for college and for needed computer upgrades. Aside from that, I have my last month of band camp in August, and two AP classes worth of summer work to do.
For recreation, I've got a few games the aforementioned job should help to purchase, and I'd like to get new inner tubes for my bike so I can go cycling again this summer.

Over the summer:
I have to read- Red Badge of Courage The Great Gatsby Death of A Salesman The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn The Scarlet Letter The Old Man and The Sea
So I'm guessing I have to spend like three hours a day reading so I can have ample time to write a decent paper.
Here will be the schedule of my day:
11 am: Wake up, eat break fast 12:30: Shit, piss, shower 1 pm: Eat lunch 3 pm: Summer work 6 pm: Dinner 8 pm: Practice SSBM 9 pm: Go out with friends 12 pm: Watch Stern and Elimidate 1:30 am: Write in my journal 2:30 am: Browse the web 3:30 am: Sleep
More or less

This summer I will be doing a whole lot of nothing. My parents won't let me get a job, and I can't get my license until mid-august because the BMV sucks.
sigh
