I first learned touch-typing in Grade 4, on an Apple II. The program we learned on said to use your index finger to hit the 'c' key.

Five years later, in Grade 6, the computer teacher told me that I had to use my middle finger to hit 'c'. I followed his instructions for my re-test, but have never done it that way since.

I find it much easier to use the index finger, since it bends down from 'f' easier than the middle finger does from 'd'. However, the other way makes sense from a consistency point of view, since the other keys in that column (3, e, d) are all hit with the middle finger.

Same thing happened to me. I find it much easier to type the letter "c" with my index finger.

I don't use the standard way of typing. I keep my pinky (haha) finger on the letter 'a' and the rest flows.

I generally use the left index finger.

Actually, I've pretty much made up my own system that involves like remembering word patterns and stuff so that i can let the fingers down and run.

Works really nice for words that I've typed tons of times before.

Yeah, I do that a lot. Problem is, the associations are so strong that sometimes I type a completely different word than the one I was thinging of.

Wow, I find it extremely awkward trying to hit the 'c' key with my index finger. Thought that was why the keys were slanted the way they are, you slide your hands up-left or down-right...

Index finger. If my index is on F and I try getting at C with my middle finger, it bumps. It's like why in games like Super Metroid and Mega Man X, I change run/dash from A to R. Better that way.

I have an extremely weird way to type. Basically, I type with all my left hand, but I only use one finger from my right hand (the index). My left hand covers the left part of the keyboard up to t,g and b - my right index covers all the right part up to u,h and n. Y is pressed by either depending on the context. I use the right index to type "type", and the left index to type "you".

Upon writing several words with a c in them, I came to the conclusion that I mostly use the index finger, but not all the time. When I write "bitch", I will use the middle finger. And in rare cases, I think I also use the loser finger you put rings on. For the x key, I seem to use indifferently any of these three fingers, depending on the context (I used the middle finger for this one).

God damn, I really have a weird typing technique.

To answer the "issue" at hand (lol just punned ur ass!!!), I hit the 'c' key with my left middle finger.

I pretty much type in the way I've been taught, very orthodox in my style.
