Well, I came back yesterday, only posting about it now.

Yeah, after the Marching Band tourney my body aches and chills went downhill and I went off to the hospital. I got an IV and a room and everything. I didn't eat all of monday and I WASNT HUNGRY - that IV juice is like miracle serum, let me tell you. Oh yeah, I had: Viral Meningitis.

As for the painful stuff, um, they put the IV into my wrist, that hurt so much I half passed out... right after that they did a spinal tap which I was did pass out for, so I don't remember... also they stuck medicine into my ass twice because anything I swallowed I would puke back up. Um... I had some soda from an outside source ( ;) ) and later that night my tummy was constantly bubbling and farting or something, I dunno, carbonation in an empty tummy apparently leads to gasgasgasgasgas

IV's aren't fun though i must say gonk.

they're not THAT painful either.

you're lucky as shit you didn't have to get an ABG (Artery blood gas). if you did, then half-passing out would be justified.

but you're prolly like me and just hate needles, and would pass out at even the sight of a simple blood test.

The onlt bad thing I've ever experienced with them was when, after coming out of hospital, I played Raiden for about two hours and the spot in my wrist where the thing went in burst. My entire wrist went black lol.

It isn't like taking a blood sample where there's blood spurting everywhere and someone's clicking new phials into the needle..this is a needle going into your arm and staying in that we're talking about here.

Needles don't generally hurt. However...I can understand the passing out from the spinal tap. That would hurt like a mofo.

I've never had an IV in my wrist...just in that area..that is like the opposite side of your elbow. I had one there when I got teeth pulled and I've had a few there from giving blood. Doesn't hurt but the back of your elbow isn't a wrist so maybe it does hurt?

when i was young and my tonsel operation fucked up the nurses had to try 6 times to stick a needle into my vein because they couldn't find it. my parents had a field day with them.

and how can nurses be so bad as to make crap judgements like that?
