Perhaps you think the masamune is pretty hot. Well, what about the wave beam from Metriod or the Big Goron sword from LOZ:Ocarina of time! Scorpion's spear or Ryu's Dragon punch? The AWP or the Buriza?

I would have to go with FFX's Aeon Anima! His drag you down to hell and kick your ass overdrive is awesome!

Honorable mentions include: The Windforce Hydra bow, AK-47/M4A1, BFG 9000, Perfect Dark's Farsight XJ220, lightning strike from Mario Kart and the Cerebral Bore from Turok!

Please state your opinion(s)!

Lightning Strike? Please....

My penis wins. I swear to you guys it was in a game. And, no, it had nothing to do with sperm.

Guess what game.

On a serious note, I vote for the UT Redeemer, or the Big Goron Sword.

I know alot more cool weapons (like my penis), but I can't remember more now.

I kid b/c I love.

Ultimate in power? Ultimate in coolness?

There was a shareware Wintel RTS game called Warpath I played a long time ago. You conquer/settle planets in your galaxy while others are trying to do the same. One of the weapons was this plague thing, that actually spread from planet to planet in real time as the guy flew around in his command ship. If you were lucky you could shoot it at one planet (not even that expensive, as I recall), go off and manage your resources, then in awhile tour the enemy territory to discover that entire quadrants were decimated.

That was a good one.

Let's make a compromise.

+

The shoe's great, but once those stupid Piranha Plants shoot a fireball at you, bye bye shoe. But if you were invincible with the shoe, then you'd be unstoppable. Starman's great, if only for a few seconds. The only problem is, you'd have to find a Starman after you get the shoe 'cause you'd have to knock the Goomba out to get the shoe. If you were invincible, you'd kill both the Goomba and the shoe.

Hey, remember that level where you had to be invincible the entire time or be killed by the little black Munchers? That was a bitch to coordinate.

Here's sort of a perplexing idea. If someone were to have the Tanuki suit in the Kuribo's shoe, would they still be able to turn into stone while in the shoe? Or would they lose the shoe if they got hit, but you'd still be stone and not get hurt? Likewise, would you be able to use the Hammer suit in the shoe, defensively? I know you can use fireballs while in the shoe, so I'm assuming hammers work. But would you be able to shield yourself from fireballs while in the shoe?

Ok, actually you can get the star and then the shoe. You knock Kuribo out of his shoe from underneath. That way you don't kill him instantly.

How do you NORMALLY get the shoe?

You cannot turn into a statue while in the shoe.

You can use hammers.

That would be a good thing for the sequel, but instead they went with "less levels" as a design goal.

Hmm. You're right. It's been a while since I've actually played. For some reason, I was thinking you stomp the Goomba to get him out, but I forgot you bump them from underneath to get them out.

Can you squat in the shoe while in the Hammer suit? Probably not, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Looks like invincibility plus shoe is the most likely godly combination, even if the invincibility is temporary. Actually, even better would be Hammer suit + shoe + invincibility. How badass is that?

I never bothered with the bioweapons personally, nukes were more my style as you could use them against other ships and you didn't have to worry about cleaning up afterwards. Besides, a good volley of nukes would take out an entire planet anyway.

Heh, I actually played Warpath again last year while my then-girlfriend was in my lap, great shit. There was all this updated shit, but I don't remember any of the specifics for obvious reasons.

Super Zapper weapons (the nuke in Road Blasters is a good one) are handy but not usually very interesting. Almost by definition, they instantly reduce the excitement level of the game.

The streetsweeper from the WoD Quake II mod deserves a mention, I think. More weapons need the visceral oomph you get from hosing things down with hundreds of 12-guage shotgun shells per minute.

Also I'm not sure what's sweeter than a long-delayed payoff from choice placement of a proximity mine.

Stinkypoot: Super Zapper weapons (the nuke in Road Blasters is a good one) are handy but not usually very interesting.

If they're used right, they kick ass, because it usually means that the game is designed such that you can get into a situation where the only course of action is to hit the Holy Shit button.

Limited Super Zappers are also cool, unless they're overused. If you've got one shot of a BFG and all 3 other Marines just happen to be in the same room, that's aweseome.

If everyone has a BFG, that is kinda lame.
