Favorite TV dramas: 24, Alias, The practice, Boston public.
Favorite TV shows except the Dramas: Friends, Everybody loves Raymond, Simpsons, South Park, That 70s show, Malcolm in the middle.
Shows that may R.I.P.: Seinfeld, Saved by the bell, Boy meets world, and Married with children.
Shows that I am pissed off at for ending too early (or getting canceled): “Dark Angel”, “Andy Richter controls the universe” and “Futurama.”
Best Variety TV: Leno, Dave, Connan, SNL, “The Daily Show”, “The Man show” and “Bullshit.”
Most embarrassing TV to watch: All reality shows and TRL.
Man in charge of Fox’s election converges: John Ellis, Bush’s first cousin.
Shows that are good because of the writing: “the practice”, Boston public (both written by David E. Kelly), The Simpsons and South Park.
Shows that are good because of the acting: Friends, Everybody loves Raymond, That 70s show, Malcolm in the middle, 24 and Alias.
Shows that I wish you’d all watch: “The Daily Show”, “24” and “Everybody loves Raymond.”
Favorite characters: The Muslim guy in “24”, Jack from “24”, Sidney from “Alias”, Cartman, and The cast of “Everybody loves Raymond.”
[edit:] I forgot about "The Sopranos". Tony goes as one of my favorite characters and the show has both good acting and writing, but more on the acting side. [ 04-23-2003, 02:12 PM: Message edited by: ceoalex316 ]

I don't have a TV. But if I did, I'd be watching ESPN almost all day, with short breaks for Seinfeld reruns and Dave Letterman and Conan.

The Muslim guy was irritating at first. Then suddenly he was cool. Now...
Ya, 24 for liefes. And Boston Public. I'm down to two hours of TV a week, and I'm better off for it. More time for other nerdish pursuits.
I loved Dark Angel to bits, though. If I were the type to stand up and cheer during shows, the second season finale (which turned into the series finale) would have had me running through the streets. But no, my outward expression of appreciation was waiting up to tape the later showing on a different network.
I watched so much Trek last summer on TNN that I burnt myself out completely. Should I lose control of my legs and fall on a couch with a remote within reach, I'd watch it, but damn. (The time of day doesn't matter; this is TNN we're talking about.) I was at the point where if I saw Riker without a beard, I'd change the channel.
The only sitcoms I appreciate as being good (and not just time-killing) are Frasier, Just Shoot Me and That 70's Show. But I don't watch them regularly. I used to watch Letterman religiously (I mean that literally- myself and my brother determined that church would be a whole lot better if Dave was giving the sermon) but stopped for some reason. I'll probably start as soon as the 'gotta crack breeding myself' compulsion wears off- after all, university summer starts tomorrow afternoon.
The most embarrassing thing I'll admit to watching would be an episode of Yu-Gi-Oh!. I overheard someone refer to someone else as the Dark Magician Master or some shit, so I think "hey, maybe Dark Magician Girl will be in it". I won. Felt kinda dirty afterwards, but hey. ~Uiru

Adult Swim -Futurama -Family Guy -Home Movies -Mission Hill -Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast -The Brak Show -Aqua Teen Hunger Force -Harvey Birdman - Attorney at Law -Sealab 2021 -Cowboy Bebop -Trigun -Lupin III -InuYasha

Hamtaro
FOX BOX -Kirby -Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -Fighting Foodons -Ultimate Muscle -Ultraman Tiga
FOX Sunday -Simpsons -King of the Hill -Malcolm in the Middle
That's about it. I tape all that and watch it at my leisure.
And yeah, I'll admit I've been watching American Idol.
Cool shows that died too soon: Futurama, Family Guy, Freaky Links, Andy Richter, Dark Angel, Firefly, The Lone Gunmen. Hmm... Well look at that. They're all FOX shows. Just imagine how many years of really great TV programming went down the shitter thanks to FOX.
Hmm... looking at my list, it's like 90% animated fare. Truthfully, that's all I care about anymore. All the sitcoms and dramas I enjoy get killed off by FOX. [ 04-23-2003, 10:18 PM: Message edited by: Ferquin ]

It means I missed them. Seinfeld is my all-time favorite show.
Family Guy goes in the "Shows that I am pissed off at for ending too early (or getting canceled)" category.

26 in July. I'm just an animation buff and I'm constantly in search of artistic inspiration (I likes to make draaw-rings). And I find those shows entertaining, at least for me. A lot of prime time programming just don't hold my attention anymore. I used to watch X-Files until it died. I used to watch Frasier until it got boring. I used to watch NewsRadio until Phil Hartman died. And like I said, FOX killed off much of the live-action shows that I liked. It's pretty much either animated fare or late night programming and the occasional stuff I find while channel surfing. It's not like I watch mostly childrens' animated shows, or did you not notice the long list of Adult Swim shows? And some kids shows are surprisingly funny, albeit overly-cute. I suppose you have to be in the right mindset. [ 04-23-2003, 10:26 PM: Message edited by: Ferquin ]

Sitcoms which are *not* just time-killers: Frasier Just shoot me
Those are by far the best sitcoms ever. Frasier is the more realistic, "this could happen for real"-show, while Just shoot me is the show of crazy, unlikely events.
Other stuff: Smallville -Lana is hot, there's some cheesy love story between the cool girl and a geek, I always like those love stories. The second season has been a bit worse than the first tho, IMO, now there's just weird stuff happening and no explanation. They always used to tie it together with the meteor rocks in the first season.
Dark Angel -I never watched the second season, but the first one totally kicked ass. Again, geek meets beautiful girl. The love story was what made me watch it... partly, but the show just felt good, even though the story hardly was unique
Babylon 5 -great scifi, the story is absolutely awesome, has one of the coolest fighter ships, the starfury
Seaquest -not the crappy 2032 series, but the original. Very cool, and unique.
Trek TNG, Voyager and Deep Space 9: They're all good.
Stargate SG-1: Pretty lame at first, but it gets cooler the more the story progresses. The effects are horrible, though.
Things which should rot in hell:
TRL -no, I have never watched a whole "episode" of it, but the little I saw of it before I threw up in disgust made me believe that it's 100% corporate-sponsored entertainment for the mindless teenage masses who must be turned into consumers so the presidents of Big Companies can get their fat pay checks. Plus they play crappy music.
MTV in general sucks. To quote David Letterman's Osama ben Laden skit, "MTV never plays videos anymore".

I agree, The Simpsons used to be cool because despite the utter strangeness and however whacked out it is, it always maintained that sense of reality, hence why all Simpsons quotes are from season 7 and back. Newer Simpsons are generally just the same "Simpson gets hooked on drugs/goes to court" and guest stars. Generally just cheap shots to try and get a laugh.
