These are polls on all the major issues we’ve discussed, I thought it would be cool if we could vote on the issues now and compare the results from before, to see if anyone has changed their mind. There are also 2 new poll that we never had, but I thought we should vote on.
Here are the polls: Pledge of allegiance Evolution Abortion Vegetarians Death penalty
We never had a poll on the war with Iraq and on homosexuals. [ 04-20-2003, 10:12 PM: Message edited by: ceoalex316 ]

I thought it was, but after about a month the game starts to suck. It got to the point where I now become sick whenever I try to play GTA 3.
Also, is GTA VC a complete rip off of the movie Scareface?

The biggest change was in the Abortion results. The pro-lifers did a bad job arguing their case.
And Mr. K didn't do so well with the pledge debate, since it was tied before and now more people think is shouldn't be an issue.

I was reading the book "Stupid White Men" and when Michael Moore (the author) list the wrong doings of the Bush administration, he lists voting against abortion as one of them. WTF is up with that? A congressman is totally allowed to vote against abortion without getting blamed for it. The issue of abortion doesn't have a definite right or wrong answer yet.

How can you endorse ending a life before it has even had the chance to live?

If we're going to start this again, shouldn't there at least be a proper redux thread for it or something?
Or someone could bring up the old thread and realize that it's been pretty much beat to death already. Regardless of what's said, the pro-choicers will go on doing as they please with 'their' bodies, and the pro-lifers will go on believing that the pro-choicers are nothing but a bunch of baby-killing monsters.

No. Using that logic ending the life of an embryo that could have any forseeable chance of becoming a living person is murder. Not having sex is just stupid.

I used a condom yes. But stopping it from happening and killing it once it has happened are two different things.

Very true- the problem I have with abortion is that people in America treat it as a form of birth control, which it's not. I'm not against it if someone gets raped, has life-threatening complications, etc., but it shouldn't be "Oh, damn, got knocked up again, time to go to the clinic!" If you don't want kids, use a condom. If the condom breaks- well, you knew the risks when you had sex. It's not like there's a shortage of people willing to adopt a healthy baby in this country...

Mentar: I think [vegetarianism] should be allowed, but I think it's fucking retarded, especially people who think it's morally superior.
Well, a lot of people do it just out of health reasons or disgust with meat.

The issue of abortion doesn't have a definite right or wrong answer yet.
"Yet?"
Booda: But stopping it from happening and killing it once it has happened are two different things.
It's only "Happened" in the sense that a fertilized egg tends to become a person without further human intervention, which is a pitifully poor case. A clump-of-cells embryo obviously has none of the physical or mental capacity of a human; it barely has progressed beyond the sperm/egg stage at which you consider it perfectly moral to destroy them (as inevitably happens without pregnancy).
So, basically, you're saying that human choice should be restricted to the times where it's traditionally been, for no better reasons than that previously we've had no control over any time after sex and that eventually it becomes obviously immoral (despite it not being immoral when we've always been able to exert influence).
Annie: I'm not against it if someone gets raped, has life-threatening complications, etc., but it shouldn't be "Oh, damn, got knocked up again, time to go to the clinic!"
So it's only okay to kill if it might cause you undue stress, huh.
If you don't want kids, use a condom. If the condom breaks- well, you knew the risks when you had sex.
If you consider abortion a method of birth control, it's a perfectly viable method of reducing those risks.
It's not like there's a shortage of people willing to adopt a healthy baby in this country...
It's not like the Earth is full of wide open wildernesses to populate anymore either.

Yes, it is, but I understand your point.
...it shouldn't be "Oh, damn, got knocked up again, time to go to the clinic!"
This doesn't happen nearly as often as the "liberal" media claims it does.

hehe...I like it how people think that adoption is so great, without actually doing any research into the consequences of it.

So this is an abortion thread now? Ok.
If we are going to draw the line of when someone is "killed" why not do it where nature sets the line? Nature doesn't intend for the zygote to die, but it does intend for sperm to get killed (Nocturnal emissions.)

Nature also intends for the sperm to fertilise the egg during sex tho, so aren't condoms just abortions of a sorts in their own right?

Eggs come out in periods, if you don't wank it sperm comes out anyway I don't care what my biology teacher said. These two cells are often disposed of by the body.
The female body is designed to keep a fertilised egg from being disposed with. It's designed to keep it there and help it grow.
In my opinion it's okay to keep John and Jane from meeting up. But once they've met it's not okay to kill them.
