Cut the crap and shut the fuck up, those of you who think this is fun. This is a tragedy.
Of course it happened because "ripper" didn't know when to stop, but how the fuck does that mean you can make fun of him?
Lots of people don't know when to stop, and lots of people fall for peer pressure, but what do you do with them? You help them to stop. You don't fucking let them keep on going until they're fucking dead.
The people in the chat room who tried to stop him, find his phone number, where he lived, did the right thing.
This makes me so fucking angry. It's like his brother said, the people who encouraged it don't realise that it's not just text on a screen, but a real person.
I'm not necessarily directing this towards anyone, just generally to people who find this "hilarious".
Feel attacked if you deserve it. I think you know if you do.

This guy abused the medical system in order to look macho in front of people he had never met, and quite foreseeably died as a result.

I don't understand how people could not find this hysterical. He fucking killed himself live on IRC! His last words had a goddamn typo! This is the funniest thing to happen so far this year. If I were in that channel I'd be egging him on too. He was a waste and the only important thing he did with his life was make me laugh for a good five minutes.

I don't actually think it's very funny at all, and I certainly didn't laugh about it. However, the fact remains that he did obtain most, if not all, of those drugs illegally. If I were in that chatroom, I would've done anything in my power to get him to stop and get him help, but, in all honesty, that is probably the dumbest thing I've seen, by far, ever. It's the equivalent of playing Russian roulette with yourself - and forgetting to only leave one bullet in the revolver. I am angry and disgraced that not only did he do that to himself, but the people in the chatroom were in on it as well.
It is a sad day for humanity.

Have I gotten in a situation like that before with friends? Yes. Have I gotten to the point of doing things that I didn't want to do, but somehow I did it anyway? Of course. Who hasn't? If there WEREN'T anyone around to tell him to do he probably wouldn't have done it. So blame it on him, call him stupid, I don't care. But whoever would be in that type of situation would be under so much pressure it's like if you fight doing it, it wouldn't work.
Hell, if I was in that situation I'd probably be close to doing it too.

I once had an uncle who had to go to rehab for Beaver Scouts. Took him forever to ultimatly kick the habit. The worst thing for him was singing around the campfire. He still breaks out into a sweat around open flames. Not because it's hot, either.
