Same engine as Pkmn Colloseum, this time you can snag a lugia [it's stats better not be set to suck]

Also, it seems you begin the game with a Level Five Eevee...

Munchlax appears in this game (as a 3D Model), you can probably battle him, just can't catch him (or transfer him to the GBA at least).

I doubt Munchlax would appear in battle. Too much sharkery around to let you battle against it.

Maybe they'll make it so that it starts to defend you or something, evolves into Snorlax, and then joins you.

Also, I just feel like posting this.
Y'know, because of the Pokemon we're discussing.

would be cool if they had an update machchanism to store Munchlax on a sav but i doubt it.

if there is, it will be really fun to exploit that feature [Smile]

That gets me to thinking - will Pearl and Diamond be backwards compatible with the GBA gen games? Or will it be like with R/B/Y and G/S/C where you can move from old to new but not vice versa?

I predict it will be as GS was to RB. Nintendo has worked hard to create a new generation which links Kanto to Johto to Hoenn to Orre to Box. I doubt they'd want to smash that.

Well, there's no Johto except for the Pokémon. Maybe with a third FR/LG counterpart (I hope)...

I just hope that all my efforts on my GBA gen games aren't wasted like they were when I found that the GB and GBC gen games couldn't interact with the GBA gen games and all the cool shit I did with Crystal sits and gathers dust in my game drawer.

E3 Trailer of this game.

9:34 am: Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. It's a full-fledged RPG with a dark and sinister plot. "Pokemon is serious business." Emerald and other GBA titles will move to the big screen when XD launches in October. A quick Killer 7 clip plays.

It'd probably be quite easy now.

D/P in the DS Card slot.

3rd Gen GBA in the GBA slot.

Insanely fast trading right there.

I'm sure it would. But what I was getting at would be if D/P monsters would be traded to the Advance gen games. Like, would Munchlax be able to jump into Kanto thought my FR/LG games or something. Could the National Dex be expandable and added to past #386 in the Advance gen games? Or are we screwed again with no GBA gen compatibility and have to start from scratch? 'Cause I'll be damned if I have to start yet another DS reissue of the original Kanto gen games with whatever DS gameplay upgrades they create. I'm already over 580 hours into my LeafGreen game trying to complete the National Dex as much as possible. I'll be really pissed if we have to start over with another fucking new numbering system and have to start with only a fraction of our favorite monsters again, only to have everything brought over again in another reincarnation.

I would think with the newer technology of the DS, they could do the GBA/DS data share combo and let us continue somehow with our old game data. Like perhaps with the DS games we could have mutiple data slots instead of just having one character - one game - one data file per cartridge. And since we can connect the GBA games, instead of starting new characters, I think it'd be neat to continue the stories of our characters in P/D by uploading our game data, items, monsters, etc. into P/D and letting us do more stuff instead of starting with yet another character and starting a new quest with whatever new starter monster you select. Just "upgrade" your game with P/D.

Eh, wishful thinking...

There is absolutely no chance any new DP monsters will be able to be played in 3rd gen games.

What I expect will be for the generations in pokemon games to go in two generation steps.

RBY -> GSC
RSELGFR -> DP

I see no reason why they wouldn't allow trading between 3rd and 4th gen.

To squeeze us hardcore PokéFans?

Seriously though, they better at least be able to import GBA gen monsters up. Maybe from the DS gen on, they'll make the monster indexes more expandable. 'Cause that'd be great. No more rebuilding from scratch. But realistically, I suspect we'll end up doing just that in the end for every new generation of monsters. [Mad]

hey, they made Red Blue and Yellow transfer to Gold, Silver, and Crystal. It wasn't until Ruby and Sapphire that they pulled the plug on the past "and started all over again..."

So, they've only pushed the big reset button once. I know people here have argued that sending GSC PoKéMoN to Ruby/Sapphire wouldn't have worked, but, heh, I once figured out how they could make it work perfectly, the only problem is, Nintendo DOESN'T want it to work, they wanted everyone to begin from scratch. My Mewtwo, Chansey, and Mew. They made me the winner of many harsh battles... and I cannot reach them [Frown]

Well, technically you could reach them. It's just that nobody would bother to battle your or that Nintendo no longer supports it.

Still, I really hope they don't pull that "start over" bullshit. I really don't want to start from scratch again.

If they pulled the plug on the past again they've lost a customer.

Let's see, how many pkmn games and accessories do I own?

Red
Blue
Yellow
Gold
Silver
Ruby
Leaf Green
Emerald
Pokémon Puzzle League (GBA)
Pokémon Puzzle League (N64)
Pokémon Stadium
Pokémon Stadium II
Pokémon Snap
Pokémon Box

Gameboy Color (bought just to play pkmn)
Gameboy Player
GBA to GBA Link Cable
Gameboy Color to Original GameBoy Link Cable
Red/Blue Strategy Guide
Various Pokémon Posters & Toys/Figures

Hmmm, they'd lose a good paying customer if they tick me off again with the next generation...

Gold and Silver, in my opinion, was Pokémon's Hey Day.

I probably won't stop playing, but I'll be severely disappointed and less enthusiastic about future games, unless they're really damn good. So far, seems like more of the same unless some major gameplay shit gets changed.

But yeah, I'd be really pissed if they started over again.

On a slightly related note, Emerald kicks ass 'cause of the new Safari Zone section. Now I don't need to finish Colosseum 'cause all the rest of the missing G/S monsters are there. All I need access to are the various tickets to get Mew, Ho-oh, Lugia, and whatever way there is to get Celebi (besides that Japanese Colosseum preorder). I've got the Eon Ticket e-Reader card and the Colosseum pre-order disc so I've got permanent access to Latios, Latias, and Jirachi. And I have my free Deoxys from last year's tour. Other than that, I legitimately have the means to get nearly all 386.

All the more reason to be pissed if Pokémon starts over again.

True dat. I completed the Pokédex for RBY (all 151). I almost completed the GSC dex (all except Celebi, I never got a damn legal Celebi!)

I'm in the same boat as you Ferquin, I have a full RSdex except for Mew, Lugia, and Celebi. 383/386 ain't bad.

I'm 99.9999% certain that after Dark Gale Lugia we'll have all but Mew and Celebi. I sent an email to the Pokémon people pleading that they correct their error and give us Celebi someway (since Japan got em and we didn't).

Well, I just wish they'd have more tours and more opportunities to get these rare monsters. (Or even better, throw us e-Reader owners a bone and give us another ticket, but not likely.) It's like they don't want us to "catch 'em all".

Eh, I dunno, I just can't be arsed to finish Colosseum's story mode nor do that ridiculous Battle Mountain quest to get Ho-Oh. (Even less so now that I can get the missing G/S monsters in Emerald.) I'd rather get the Mystic Ticket. Then I could get both Ho-Oh and Lugia, and they'd be mine rather than traded. So much easier. I hate having to jump through these hoops just to get one damned monster. I don't know why we're constantly denied these promo monsters. We can't use them in contests anyway. They're just to have fun with.

Naw, it's cool. I'll probably get bored enough that I'll actually want to do it someday as a personal challenge. At the very least, I want to have earned it myself either by getting the Mystic Ticket or by doin' the 100 battles. Still hate that they make this difficult though.
