Does anyone know what pokemon must be traded to Colosseum to complete the strategy memo?

It's in your PDA.
You have to talk to the teacher at the Pre Gym in Phenac City.
She'll updated your PDA so you can use it to look for the abilities, height, weight, etc. of Pokemon you've met.
It's basically a Pokedex that includes abilities, but doesn't mention where to find them (no wild Pokemon in Orre), or any information on them (i.e., "Charmander's flame in an indication of it's feelings....etc.").
Note that when you talk to her, she'll update the Memo to include information on Pokemon that you've seen.

Yes, but what pokemon can't be encountered in Colosseum? In other words, what pokemon would you have to trade from R/S/FR/LG to complete the strategy memo? Also, do you need to do anything special to trade from FR/LG to Colosseum?

Yes, in FR/LG. Beat the 1337 four and have 60 pokemon caught, get the national 'dex, and complete the r/s trading machine. Voila, you can now trade with Coliseum.

Also, go get the Pokemonbox. It is a very useful trading tool. Me and my pokebuds pitched in and got one between the 5 of us and we used it to move all our mon's over to gl/fr.

Thanks, Kingler. I have Box, but I play these games with glacial slowness. I haven't gotten to the quest for the ruby and saphire yet, and won't for some time, so I can't use box with fr/lg yet. Also, work on filling Box proceeds with a predictable lack of speed. I've gotten the false-swiping swablu and the extreme speed zigzagoon, but nothing else yet. Believe it or not, I want that surfing pikachu. I still am not sure about what is needed to complete the strategy memo, but I think from R/S, you may only need to trade the laties, the regies, and rayquaza. It looks like a lot more will be needed from fr/lg. Then I expect to get stuck, with no way to get mew, celebi, or deoxys barring cheating. [ 04-20-2005, 02:33 PM: Message edited by: Bugcatcher Ed ]

Go buy a copy of yellow and an old stadium. Sound like the path of least resistance for surfin' Pika. Why are you so slow? Get a trainer's guide. Personally, after running rby and gsc for so long I got through sapphire rather quickly w/o a guide. Meh, I hope you the best and many hours of enjoyment.

I have yellow, but that won't get a pikachu to hang ten in the current games. I play so slowly because of my style of playing. I try to catch and raise pokemon as I go, rather than concentrating on building a single good team, and going back afterwards to complete unessential tasks, complete the pokedex, etc. In essence, some people grade themselves on how quickly they play the game. I grade myself more on how thoroughly I play the game. For example, my next challenges in Fire Red include catching a female snorlax to go with my male snorlax, levelling up to 32 one of each bug, flying, psychic and poison type that can be caught so far in the game, putting together a team from those, and beating the fighting mini-gym. Then I need to level up the more diverse team I'll use to beat my rival in Sylph Co. Then polish off Sylph Company with my anti-Team Rocket team, and start work on any pokemon which are strong vs psychic... You see how this gets time-consuming. I'm not claiming this is a better way to do it, but it's my way. I may go the fast route for Emerald. [ 04-20-2005, 05:57 PM: Message edited by: Bugcatcher Ed ]

Sounds great! It takes time anyway you approach it. I got my shit all pymped out in Crystal. 4 boxes of great legendarys, bred and boxed pokemon. I traded some nice dv pokes back to Yellow for rby link/stadium battles. I haven't worked very much at the new games. I've ran though Sapphire and Green Leaf but only have a handful at level 100. Enjoy your gaming. I wish I had more time for it like in the past. [ 05-01-2005, 04:59 AM: Message edited by: Kingler ]
