Follow the link in the 8/18 entry and you'll see my point.

The easiest way to satisfy me is to make the cheque out to Cash and sign it. I'll fill in the blank.

I guess I'm not a member of this elite community so I have no idea what's going on.

Am I to understand that more people are playing on Bots nowadays than the real game? And that the wankers basically like to stall? 'Cause that doesn't sound like fun at all. Stalemates are boring as hell.

And I'd sure love to pay a round with you, face-to-face. I'm no coward. I just don't have anyone around me that plays. And believe me, I've never read any of those FAQs or anything. I just play by the seat of my pants. I have no idea what the fuck a BlissSkarm is or a Curselax (which intrigues me because Snorlax is my fave. I miss Snorlax). I don't pay attention to values and all that computational data stuff. All's I know is that it's super cheap to have legendaries on your team so I try to raise decent rare ones like Bagons or Spheals. My favorite duo right now is my Salamence and my Walrein. They haven't failed me yet in my Colosseum battles, and I've won with them the last time I fought someone in person. I'm undefeated 2/0. Yeah, whoopie. I sure hope this new wireless dealie will find people nearby whenever I'm out. I'm sick of playing alone.

Hey wanna know something neat? I thought it'd be neat to have nothing but blue Pokémon on my team. That's why Salamence and Walrein are on my team. Yup. My logic is flawed. But I thought it'd be fun to try and assemble something like that.

In any case, yeah. I still like playing the game. Battles are fun. Yeah.

Salamence is more of a purplish color...

I faintly remember that. I was like 'yay no Curse' and then I was like 'yay they put it on the breed list instead o fuk'.

Maybe in the next generation of Pokémon games, Game Freak will put in 87 new OHKO moves so the fucking proles will get the point.

Oh wait, Sub is on everything now.

Hmm.

I also want to know A) why the fuck you of all people directly linked to a GameFAQs FAQ B) why the fuck I read most of that ineffectual wank and C) why the fuck their Slaking had Return over Hyper Beam.

On November 18, Konami releases Dance Dance Revolution Festival, Beatmania IIDX 8th Style and Pop'n Music 10. Fap fap fap. If you want to know where I've been lately... [Big Grin] I don't know when Fire Red and Leaf Green come out, or Emerald for that matter, and I'm not waiting up at night for them. I think my girlfriend bought me Colloseum for my birthday, though, which would certainly be nice. I want to play Pokémon again, but I want Tyranitar and Butterfree first.

The fact that you had to ask this question proves you haven't played linkbattles at all. At least not with a good Slaking.

Look at the time of the entry. I don't think clearly at 2 in the morning.

B) why the fuck I read most of that ineffectual wank

Because you touch yourself at night.

and C) why the fuck their Slaking had Return over Hyper Beam.

Personal experience has taught me that Choice Banders work best when they switch in, own, and switch out. HAIPAR BAEM keeps you in an extra turn.

Well, it's not like the average old-school Curselax is any good to the likes of Gengar, or even Misdreavus, anymore...

Random comments:

Actually you'd be better off using Steelix since most Curselax carry a Return/Shadow Ball combo and not Quake just because of Gengar.

Personally on Slaking, I double up on both Return and Hyper Beam as they are both useful at different points of a battle. Just be thankful whoever wrote that didn't put Brick Break in the Slaking set...

On topic:

I didn't mention before, but Bliss/Skarm does not exactly own the RS metagame like it did GSC's. Stalling doesn't work anymore is what it comes down to... RS is too attack focused. I've made Bliss/Skarm my bitch many times with my Camerupt and/or Ursaring that seeing the combo doesn't phase me.

The only clause I truly stand by is Sleep Clause. Forgive me for not wanting to see a Sleep Talking Miltank on every single team...

Oh yeah, and I'd say support Groudon is more lethal with the help of a Calm Mind/Sacred Fire/Solarbeam/Recover Houou. Moltres has the cool factor going for it, though, and is not shunned as much by the proles. ;x Along with that, I've seen many idiots on netbattle banning all things classified as legendaries (as in Zapdos/Suicune etc) which is just gay.

No, I haven't played RS battles at all. I'm just wondering why you'd use Return and then switch out when you can use Hyper Beam and kill it instantly. Either Slaking takes one hit coming in and then bam or Slaking takes one hit coming in, and then the next guy that finishes the target off takes a hit coming in. (And won't Slaking be truanted next turn it comes in anyway?)

But hey, correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh, also retarded is that FAQ writer's insistance on putting, say, HP Fighting on everything. You cannot be expected to try to get something with A) a nongarbage personality B) semi-reasonable stats C) the ability you want and D) a 70 Hidden Power in the exact type you need. If Hidden Power gets used at all you're either fighting Team FUCKER or a cheater, because 9999 chances out of ten grand the only Hidden Power users will be absolute random flukes. Or newbies, one or the other. Writing guides for RSBot makes me sad in my pants. 'How This Shit Works' is as far as it should go.

OK, you're wrong. No, he won't be truanted the turn he switches back in. Now do you see his potential?

BTW, for me, cheating is having a 999 sp. att. magikarp. Or a TMS Kyogre with 255 EV's in EVERY stat. Ah well.

And Donald, you fucking rule. You actually beat me to writing an article like that. I'm also sick of Botemon, and n00bs calling me names because I powned their asses with my Latios. I won the dutch PKMN Colosseum Championships last week, thanks to my team, which had a couple of legendaries yes. And guess what? Only got negative comments. I played 'cheap'.

Fuck everyone, cheapness doesn't exist. Winning and losing does exist. Donald, next time someone whines like a bitch, give them this URL http://www.sirlin.net/Features/feature_PlaytoWinPart0.htm

Go me, I'm the dutch champion of Pokemon, 2004. Which means a nice, yet kiddy looking trophy, and a year free gamecube games. Thank you, Nintendo of Europe.

EDIT: You are so unfun, White Cat. You do not want to know the amount of gameshark users there.

i actually stopped playing... uh long ago back when gsc 6v6 usually took longer than 45 minutes. Ithe only thing I still like to do is hacking the games.

It really got boring with all these clauses. Honestly does anyone here still play on the bots or in netbattle?

I say the game was never meant to be played like that - TGD had a point there playing botemon showed imbalances - and people reacted with clauses imbalances remained only the number of possibilities decreased.

There was a similar problem in Blizzard RTS games - some jercs invented a no rush (attack at the beginning of the game so they would be able to move to lategame units immideately) there were a lot of "no rush" games during SC times. Blizzard reacted by stating in there faq: If you see something like that just ignore this and rush him
anyway there is no rule if he does not like rushing he can play with friends he knows that don't like the strategy either but if he plays against a random opponent he must be prepared for a rush, too. For more fun open a game and state no rush yourself - and rush then

No not a direct quote but the content was like that [Smile] there are too many clauses enforced by netbattle too do the same thing, though

I use my device to alter the IV's and nature of the pokemon I caught to get whatever I want, since I don't want to spend months on looking for the right IV set on 1 pokemon. Is that cheating?

Yes.

As you point out, a trainer playing the game the normal way would have almost no chance of getting the perfect genes and nature. A trainer using a GameShark (or whatever) can do so almost instantly, giving them a vastly unfair advantage.

This problem has gotten vastly worse in the Advance games, since previously a) there were no natures or abilities, b) there were a lot fewer gene combinations, and c) a non-cheater could count on getting pretty good genes in a reasonable amount of time via careful breeding.

Is there a way I can forward veloS' post to the Netherlands Pokemon tournament organizers?

No offence, but winning with a sharked team seems a little unfair to me. I mean, a Ho-Oh and a Raikou with HP Ice pwns, I agree, but using it in battle against people who are as good in the game as you but don't shark...Meh, it doesn't feel right. I know that one of the contestants (sp?) had a pretty good team with no legi's (except for Latios and Regice). He won all his matches except against you because you had the sharked HP's. Oh well, I guess I can't do nothing against it anyway. =P

Uh, what's a "set of breeding Ditto"? I've got one Ditto. Why would you need a set?

Back on Gold/Silver/Crystal when you breed with a Ditto the defense IV of Ditto automatically was imposed upon the child, and the special IV was either directly imposed or imposed +/- 7.

The attack and speed IVs of the offspring would be random...

Now, for pure battling pkmn you'd want to breed with a ditto that had a defense IV of 15 and a special IV of either 7 or 15.

But, say you're breeding for hidden power... To increase your chances of that (or if you want to breed for a shiny pkmn) you'd want an army of sex slave dittos of various IVs...
