This is probably old, but still.....

Yamirami is named "Sableye", it seems.

And new attack names are

Fake Tears
Fake Out
Knock Off
and Iron Defense

I wasn't expecting e-reader functionality, but I knew it'd be possible in GBA games. I guess Pokémon had to be the first.

Doesn't matter to me. I own, and enjoy having, an e-reader. Kingler's Day rules.

EDIT: Judging from the name of the cards (Pokémon Battle-e) and the screen (which reads "Battle Trainer", it looks like these cards can unlock special battle sequences in the game. If that's the case, you may get a bonus for completing them.

2nd EDIT: Oh, and that's what it said in the friggin' article, too. That'll teach me to just glance over stuff. >_<

The R/S e-cards look pretty nice, but I am amazingly unhappy that I'll have to own or have access to a second GBA to use them. In fact, I think I'll just not bother with the whole thing, unless they release a decent-sized card set...

Lady Astrid's third Pokemon is either Konohana, Daatengu, or Kekking.
Gentleman Nil's third Pokemon is from the Zubat, Tentacool, Grimer, Natu, Hasuboo, Ametama, Habuneeku, Zanguusu, Barubiito, or Irumiize series.

Fake Tears == Crocodile Tears
Iron Defence == Iron Wall
Fake Out & Knock Off == Taunt? Anti-Repeat? Intercept? Frighten? Cat Deception? Drop Feathers?

I'm guessing Lady Astrid's Pokemon is either Daatengu or Konohana/Nuzleaf, while Gentleman Nil has either Runpapa or it's lower form, a.k.a., Lombre.

I base this one the fact that Astrid has a Ruby exclusive Pokemon, and a Pokemon that's much easier to find in Ruby that Sapphire.
Gentleman Nil has a Sapphire exclusive Pokemon on his team, and one that's easier to find in Sapphire than Ruby.

Furthermore, the Pokemon on each their teams are 'counterparts'. Kuchiito is to Yamirami what Oddish was to Bellsprout in Red/Blue. The other two have the Plus/Minus thing as well. So it makes sense that Runpapa and Daatengu would be their 'mystery Pokemon'.

My guess is that "Fake Out" is Cat Deciption, while "Knock Off" is Drop Feathers.

You know that one thing, the "Mysterious Island" or whatever it's called where a bunch of old Pokémon are but we can never get there, I wouldn't be suprised if this unlocked it...

Japan didn't get this E-Reader option did they?

Eh? If you are referring to the "Illusionary Island", that place has nothing but Wynaut. ^^;;

You cannot catch the old pokemon in RuSa. Can. Not. Get it? There's no "Mysterious Island". I've gone through the rom data, and the only secret islands are Illusion Island and South Island. We know how to get to Illusion Island. South Island is still a mystery. Meowth supposedly knows. Damn him!

That can't be...My poor Bulbasaur...Noooo!!!

I'm still holding hope in Pokemon Emerald and the GC game- which I've heard is actually a RPG as well as a Stadium like game...

I think you have that backwards. Southern Island is the island that you need the Infinity Ticket and the activation of the Mystery Events option to get to. The Illusion Island is the place that's full of Wynaut.

Like I said, we know how to get to Illusion Island. Just have an "Illusion Island-friendly" pokemon in your team. Meowth's got the in-depth info about this on his site. I haven't heard anything connecting the Infinity Ticket and South Island, where the Latias event takes place.

The method has been on the official Japanese Pokemon site for a few months now ...

http://www.pokemon.co.jp/event/mugen_d.html

From what I've translated, you have to have beaten the first five Gym Leaders before you can do this. After you get the Infinity Ticket from a Nintendo event, you must go to the profile guy in Petalburg City's Pokemon Center and give him the words "Fushigi Dekigoto Wakuwaku Dokidoki". Afterwards the profile guy say something to the effect of "So you're part of the Fushigi Dekigoto club!".

Save the game, shut off your GBA and turn it back on. On the main menu there will now be an option called "Fushigi Dekigoto" (note, this is the "Mystery Events" option that the IGN E-Reader article was talking about). Hit this and talk to Senri. This should activate it. I might be wrong about a bit of this but I've activated the Mystery Events option myself without the Infinity Ticket so I'm definitely right about that part.

According to this page ...

http://www.pokemon.co.jp/event/mugen_f.html

... you can use the Record Corner (the place where you get see other players' hideouts) to give people their own Infinity Tickets. Though it seems that you can only give out 100 of them.
