I made this introductory guide for Squeeeezie to help to teach her attack types. "No Squeeeezie, dragon rage only looks like a fire attack." "No Squeeeezie, perseverance won't allow psychic to kill that birdie." I cheered when she self-destructed her golem against Lance's dragonite .Next I think I'll do an opposite version with moves to use against certain types.
Anyway, I thought some of you guys might be able to use it to teach friends who are just starting the game, or are completely against learning types (Squeeeezie).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Attacks that are based on a pokemon's "special attack" (! not on "attack" !)
(The higher the "special attack" value of the pokemon using these types of moves, the more damage is done)

1/2 damage to: Fire, Rock, Dragon, Water pokemon

Grass Attacks
2x Damage Against these Pokemon: Water, Ground, Rock
1/2 damage to: Flying, Grass, Steel, Fire, Poison, Dragon pokemon

Water Attacks

Ice Attacks

Electric Attacks
2x Damage Against these Pokemon: Flying, Water
1/2 damage to: Grass, Electric, Dragon, pokemon (!!! don't even affect ground pokemon !!!)

Psychic Attacks
2x Damage Against these Pokemon: Poision, Flying
1/2 damage to: Steel, Psychic pokemon (!!! don't even affect dark pokemon !!!)

Dark Attacks
2x Damage Against these Pokemon: Psychic, Ghost
1/2 damage to: Dark, Fighting, Steel pokemon

Dragon Attacks
2x Damage Against these Pokemon: Dragon
1/2 damage to: Steel pokemon

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW (chapter 1)

Pokemon do 50% more damage using attacks of the same type as they are. Ground pokemon do more damage using ground attacks than fighting pokemon will.

Example:

Snorlax does 200% damage using thunderbolt against a Vaporeon (because Vaporeon is a water pokemon), but pikachu does 300% damage using thunderbolt against Vaporeon since thunderbolt is an electric attack.

Pokemon can be two different types at the same time. This means that there can be pokemon which are BOTH a ground type AND a Rock type (Examples: Rhydon, Golem, Onix, Geodude, Graveler). When this happens, the pokemon simply combines the strengths and weaknesses of both types together.

Example:

Graveler’s type is Gound/Rock. Both Ground and Rock are weak to Grass attacks (like Razor Leaf) and Water attacks (like surf). This means that Grass and Water attacks will do 4x their normal amount of damage when used against Graveler. But since Graveler is a ground type pokemon, electric attacks don’t even effect it, and since it is part Rock, “Normal” type attacks do only 1/2 damage to it.

When a pokemon is 2 types of pokemon at once, like Slowpoke (which is Psychic/Water) it will do extra damage when it uses attacks of either of its types. Example: Slowpoke will do 50% more damage using Surf than non-water pokemon types, as well as with Psychic moves.

Just because a pokemon is of a certain type doesn’t mean it is able to know lots of attacks of that type (Example: Scyther can only learn 1 very shitty bug move even though it is A bug pokemon). There are also pokemon which are able to be taught lots of attacks other than their own type (Example: Clefairy which can learn Fire, Water, Ice, Electric, Fighting, and Psychic moves).

Not as the smart as self-destructing said golem against a gengar.

"(Example: Scyther doesn’t even learn a bug move even though it is A bug pokemon)."

Fury Cutter is a Bug move. Scyther learns it.

There are a lot of Pokemon that don't learn moves of their type naturally, and until GSC some coudlnt' learn moves of their type, period. Pinsir was one example. Even now the best it can do is a 105 power HP-Bug (That's including STAB) and a lousy Fury Cutter.
