This episode was disturbing in a multi-layered way.

They made Whitney a complete airhead. She can't even keep control of her Clefairy, and she's a gym leader. Not to mention her supposedly knowing how to get around Goldenrod, yet getting the group lost. And that voice......it's annoying in an annoying sort of way....

Team Rocket once again used one of their situational mottos, this time dealing with their "free sample" escapade.

And, for the first time in a while, they didn't say a variation of "Team Rocket's blasting off again!". However, they kept Wobbuffet in there, so it wasn't that bad ^_^

The battle was probably the most disturbing part of the entire episode.

Nidorina got raped by Cyndaquil (HTF does Flamethrower OHKO it?).

Clefairy got raped by Cyndaquil (I thought Gym Leaders were smart enough to avoid Metronome -_-;;;).

Miltank.

Words can not even describe how they screwed up Miltank.

Actually, a few chat quotes could:

<EeveeTrainer> milskank is o_O in the anime

* EeveeTrainer is too disturbed to use it anymore

* EeveeTrainer kicks miltank off of his team

* NickWhiz1 honestly thinks they could've actually made it sound like a cow

<NickWhiz1> Milskank's voice and appearance = fugly

<EeveeTrainer> poor milskank got screwed in the anime

<XDurac> it looks like a retarded cow
* EeveeTrainer demands milskank be redone before i use it again in team

<EeveeTrainer> it looks and sounds like a retarted blissey

* Dav1dL wants to hear Miltanks voice...;_;
<NickWhiz1> Dav1d: No you don't.
<FLaRNY-BoBeD> ;.;
<FLaRNY-BoBeD> me too
<NickWhiz1> You will probably have nightmares about it.
<KrbyOG> meheheheh
<MrFun> lol
<DiNIchI> XD
<Dav1dL> Lies! NEVER!
<ET-Away> it didn't have a voice

<ET-Away> it was just blahblah

<ET-Away> and *shuddershudder*

<NickWhiz1> Milskank's anime form is too disturbing to discuss.

At least the way Miltank triple raped Cyndaquil, Totodile, and Pikachu was entertaining. Ash deserved to lose.

<SPOILER>

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

Too bad Skank is gonna lose in the next episode. Whitney has a 3v1 with Ash at the dairy farm. It takes Ash Cyndaquil, Totodile, and Pikachu just to beat Milskank.

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

</SPOILER>

Oh well.

Let's see how pathetic "A Dairy Tale Ending" is.

The whole episode revolves around Milskank, so it'll probably be the most disturbing episode in the series, as the whole episode is going to deal with them. That means we get to listen and look at them for half an hour straight.

Oohhh...

Looks like I've been saved.

Due to technical difficulties, my local WB station isn't showing Kids WB right now.

<NickWhiz1> This means I don't have to watch super disturbing Milskank episode 2!

[EDIT] Tagz...

[EDIT2] After conversing with the citizens of #pokebattle, it appears the whole country is suffering from a Kids WB blackout, and showing alternate programming. ET got an infomercial, I got Clueless >_<

[EDIT3] Stupid smilie...

[EDIT4] Did I say models? I meant mottos...

And some good news...

"A Dairy Tale Ending" was quite entertaining.

The abundance of Miltank wasn't that bad, as they rarely ever opened their mouths to speak. But they all look so gay o.O;;;

Team Rocket actually used a mecha this time, in the form of a giant barrel. You'd think they would make the whole thing shock-proof, because Pikachu blasts it to kingdom come after being broke free by Cyndaquil and Totodile.

Ash getting kicked in the face by the grumpy Miltank was easily one of the top 5 funniest moments in the entire anime. It would've been even funnier if Whitney kissed his boo-boos away, then Brock tried getting smacked in the face by a Miltank to get the same treatment XD

I suppose they can only do it once before it stops becoming funny, I guess.

If they did, though, maybe Ash will get a crush on Whitney too, and him and Brock would compete while Misty pulls them both away XD

The battle definitely defies game logic.

HOW IN CREATION DOES CYNDAQUIL TAKE 5 SHOTS FROM ROLLOUT WITHOUT FAINTING?

He finally fell on the 6th (!) hit, but that defies logic.

Totodile only took one hit to be KOed, but not before making it almost a guarantee Pikachu would win.

It took Pikachu only one Thunderbolt to get rid of Milskank, but it was all worn out by Cyndaquil and Totodile.

Whitney gives him the badge after winning.

Whatever happened to "If I win here, we will have a rematch at the gym?"

Blah.

Oh well, he's off to Ecruteak City, to face Morty.

And only 40ish episodes until he reaches Olivine City! And you know what that means!

I leave you all with a simple question.

I'm fairly sure if you've been watching Kids WB this morning, you've probably seen a commercial advertising the new season of Pokemon entitled "Pokemon: Johto League Champions". In it, they mention Kurt's special Poke Balls. One caught me by surprise, though. My question...

WHAT IN LORD'S CREATION IS A STUN BALL???!!!/

That's an error. It's supposed to be a Friend Ball. WB sucks in the translation dept.

Anyway,Nicky,I don't think Miltank was that bad. Okay,so I expected a deeper Miltank voice, but it was pretty okay.

And as for Cyndy fainting in six hits from Rollout, the game =/= the show;we ALL know Rollout is super-effective against fire-types.

Since when does WB translate anything? 4Kids is translating the anime. And any terms from the game were translated by Nintendo.

Did anyone else get the "Wobbuffet-intolerant" part?

I honestly thought he was gonna use Snorlax or Heracross to beat Miltank. The way he won was a tad cheesy, IMHO.

In the anime, they don't really seem to need Friend Balls. And honestly, I might have preferred Stun Balls (whatever they are) to Love Balls (with virtually no use thanks to Ditto-breeding, IMO) in the game.

I think the episode layouts are improved... They needed a new episode name pic, and I like having a part before the theme song.

Honestly, though, I think I need to stop defending the anime. ^_^;

[All this is spoiler, but if you read the above stuff, you've already ruined it for yourself.]

On the whole, I liked the shows today. I very much like that we get more show instead of some incredibly lame song at the end.
(Altho, I am going to have to tell my TiVo to grab an extra minute on the end of the show, because it stopped recording right as Ash flashed his Plain Badge.) And I hope they continue to do more multi-part shows, those are usually the best.

Once again we saw how punk-ass Cleflamers are (altho I have to admit that Cleflamer yelling at Pikachu for running into him was funny).

Favorite lines: "There's a Clefairy in produce!" and the very odd "Milk it, baby!". The writers must have come back fresh from a vacation or something, because the dialogue was a little zippier than it's been lately.

Cyndaquil once again displayed his balls of steel. I like him. Totodile is OK, but he's no Squirtle. Chikorita annoys me.

It looks like they forgot to tell Meowth and the cowboy's voice actors (maybe the same guy?) how to pronounce Miltank.

And, speaking of Miltank...I have now seen the Pokemon that is more horrible than Aipom. I thought I was going to throw up when they were all drinking the Miltank milk. Dizzzzzzgusting!

Anyway, I liked the way the battles went, because that's pretty much what happened to me in Silver. I wasted that chick's team until that stupid cow took out all 6 of my guys. Then I trained some more, went back and won.

But I can't imagine anyone was disappointed in Miltank. It's been completely revolting in every implementation (the wobbling udder is just gross in Stadium), altho the cartoon has brought it to a new level of horribleness.

My God.

Yuck-o.

I think that's the most unpleasant thing I've seen on Pokemon so far.

Overall, tho, the shows were good...better than most recent ones, altho I haven't watched the "lost" Psychic one yet.

You have insulted Clefable...DIE! (Pulls out REALLY fake Moon Scope and fires Moon Gorgeous Meditation at Mr. K. )

Actually,I'm glad that they showed Metronome do the game's effect FOR ONCE,instead of just firing a HUGE blast of light and blowing everyone out of the water like they did in various episodes. Using Hyper Beam effects worked okay in the debut(Clefairy and the Moon Stone),but it gets OLD when Togepi kept using it,and it happened in the second movie, but it was more appropriate then.

As for Miltank, stop whining! So it's profane, get real, cows are not the most modest of creatures. Oh,you hated how those people drank Moomoo Milk? Well then, boycott milk, because that stuff comes from cow udders.

(Don't take the above flame too seriously,as I was defending Miltank's appearance. I'm not too much of a Miltank fan - everyone uses a standard moomoo as a Heal Beller instead of Blissey or,if it had been released in Crystal,Celebi - but I can't stand a person flaming any Pokemon just for the fact that it looks 'gross.' By that belief,Muk is gross because it's a huge pile of shit,or Snorlax is gross because it's so fucking fat.)

As for NickWhizzer,I think that Whitney was cute. She was a lot more mature than in the game(I liked the fan translation better, where she accuses the player of cheating). Still,I was a bit confused why the writers had her use a Nidorina. It seems they changed her theme from normal-type Pokemon to female Pokemon(Clefairy is mostly female).

Okay. Here are my best guesses of the levels.

Cyndaquil: 11
Totodile: 14
Chikorita: 9
Pikachu: 75
Charizard: 142

Surely Ash knows about levels!

Charizard is definitely above lvl 100, in the Indigo league, Charizard disobeys Ash, even though he had the Earthbadge. And in the game, when ya catch a pokemon over lvl 100, it can disobey even if ya have all badges. So

And to think: Against Falkner, there is NO WAY Pikachu shouldn't be able to ride that battle solely on Thunderbolt. Unless, of course, Falkner's Pokemon were over L150 or so. Which gets you thinking: If Falkner has a L150 flyer out, WHY THE HELL DID ASH SEND OUT A LEVEL 7 (best guess for that time) CHIKORITA AGAINST IT?????

And yes, I know there is such a thing as levels in the TV show. I don't remember the name of the episode this came from, but...

The anime is rarely consistent as for which Pokemon is strongest.

In "Fighting Flyer with Fire," Charizard beat Pidgeot, which beat Pikachu, which beat Hoothoot, which beat Chikorita.

In the episode where Ash caught Chikorita, Chikorita beat Charizard.

Three of those victories were on a large margin.

And neither type-effectiveness nor the time between the episodes makes up for this.

Just something I had to get off my mind.

So you people are just now realizing that Miltank is kind of...odd and freakish?

It takes an anime episode to make you people see that.

And I didn't mind the voice much. You could tell it was the original Japanese voice, too. "Miru, miru!"

With all the talk about levels, etc., we must remember: it's just a show. It serves as some form of entertainment where we can just sit back and not think about the facts of life (like why Chikorita can defeat Charizard, etc.).

Whitney is definitely cute. I liked her short shorts. Her voice sounded like that of Joy's though.

Due to technical difficulties, my local WB station isn't showing Kids WB right now.

This happened to my WB station also, except it happened during another cartoon, not Pokemon. (Hooray! Or else my video collection would be ruined and made anti-1337.) I read at a lot of places that many WB stations got f0kked that day. Must be the idiots running the stations.

And only 40ish episodes until he reaches Olivine City! And you know what that means

What? What? You can say it! Like Mr. K said: "All this is spoiler, but if you read the above stuff, you've already ruined it for yourself."

One more comment: I'm glad they didn't show that Uncle Milton dude actually milking Miltank. That would have been the target of global censorship (not to mention gross).

As for when levels were discussed, they talked about them in "School of Hard Knocks" the school kid who got picked on said a spiel about Pidgey... Pidgey learns ____ at level ____ evolves into... at level ____, etc...

Gissele, the tough girl battler also refered to levels concerning Pikachu.

In another episode, when Ash used Bulbasaur, someone, possibly a gym leader (someone important anyway) said it must have been at a high level or something...

actually, in the Japanese version, as Akane, she takes it a bit more seriously, but cant deal with losing, so she's convinced you cheated to beat her, and she wont hand the badge over until you talk to the other girl so she will go calm Akane down. besides...if Akane/Whitney was truly a complete airhead, she wouldnt use as deadly a Pokemon as Miltank.

Interesting. The one I get (WPIX a.k.a. WB11, a "superstation" from the East Coast somewhere) showed it, but like Mr. K, I missed the last couple minutes due to my VCR cutting it off. I guess the station must have been running a little late. Can someone summarize what happened after the farmer started saying "it's not the location of the battle that matters"?

Whitney gives him the badge after winning.

Whatever happened to "If I win here, we will have a rematch at the gym?"

Lots of stuff about this didn't make sense. First of all, gym leaders are required to accept all challenges; they don't have to be "earned". Second, Whitney told Ash after her first victory that he could come back for a rematch anytime. However, after Ash saved the farm, she says something like "Since you helped us, you can battle me to win the right to fight me for the badge." Huh? So now you have to earn a chance to earn a chance at a rematch?

I don't have a problem with the badge-earning battle taking place outside of the gym, but I was silly for Ash to be declared winner when he used three Pokemon to Whitney's one. (*) I guess he's back to getting sympathy badges...

(*) There was a similar incident in Bad to the Bone when Ash "won" a match after Pikachu beat Marowak, despite the fact that he had also used Bulbasaur.

Mr. K:
On the whole, I liked the shows today. I very much like that we get more show instead of some incredibly lame song at the end.

I don't think the actual episode was any longer. Notice that there was an extra commercial break near the end...

NickWhiz:
And only 40ish episodes until he reaches Olivine City! And you know what that means!

Land und Leute:
What? What? You can say it! Like Mr. K said: "All this is spoiler, but if you read the above stuff, you've already ruined it for yourself."

I'm guessing that NickWhiz has a Jasmine fetish...

Various thoughts:

- I hope they don't keep doing teasers; it makes the show harder to tape.

- Why'd they go back to using old guys for the WTP? I like the way the used a snippet from the Pokedex, though.

- I don't like it when the show quantifies Pokemon abilities (talking about levels, experience points, etc). It's necessary for the game, but it's rather silly to think that you'd actually be able to say "This Pokemon is at level 75" or whatever.

Bugsy seemed to be of indeterminate gender in the english version. You utterly sure s/he is meant to be a girl? I always thought so, but I'm sure I heard him/her being referred to as a boy in the game, either the manual or ingame text.

I believe Bugsy is a boy. His voice sounds boyish in the show. And I'm pretty sure someone (either in the game or on the show) said "he" when refering to Bugsy. Anyway, I've noticed that all the girls (except for infants) in anime have hips, regardless of how old they are. ^_^;; Since Bugsy doesn't appear to have hips (nor is he an infant), I conclude just by looking at him that he is a guy.

This is why I asked earlier whether or not the pic of Bugsy in different in the Japanese game.

White Cat: I'm guessing that NickWhiz has a Jasmine fetish...

I was afraid someone would say that.

White Cat: I hope they don't keep doing teasers; it makes the show harder to tape.

I tape all of the shows also. But why would that make it harder to tape. Is it because it ruins the plot/ending/whatever?

I've seen Bugsy in the Anime & Stadium2, I always thought he was a guy. His voice sounds like a guy too, or at least, I thought so...

Funny that the above is almost a DIRECT quotation from a post I made one day earlier, and yet nowhere does D_H give me credit...

Bugsy is a guy. Don't get misled by the homos around here.

NickWhiz1: Am I that obvious?

Now that I think about it... yes. But I was hoping that you wanted to see that episode for a different reason (exciting battle, etc.).

No, but when the show starts with the intro and then goes to a commercial before getting to the actual episode, it doesn't matter if the VCR kicks in a little late, since you won't miss anything you haven't seen before. If there's a teaser at the start, you need to have your VCR time set exactly right (since the stations like to stretch the actual episode to the end of the half-hour now) or pad the recording time with a couple minutes at each end.

NickWhiz:
Am I that obvious?

Well, I probably wouldn't have figured it out if I didn't know that a lot of people have Jasmine fetishes...

PS- Ugh, I was sloppy in proofreading. Find the spelling/grammar errors in my previous post and win... nothing!

Gloomboy: You have insulted Clefable...

Actually, I insulted Cleflamer, not Clefaggot.

As for Miltank,stop whining!

I'm a cop, you idiot!

So now you have to earn a chance to earn a chance at a rematch?

Ash sorta set that as his own goal. You have to figure that the gym leaders dole out pity badges now and then (like Brock did for Ash), just because, if they are so friggin' badass, how is any regular schlub from Pallet ever supposed to beat them?

I don't think the actual episode was any longer. Notice that there was an extra commercial break near the end...

Was that an "extra" break, or just the break that normally comes before the lameass songs?

I don't like it when the show quantifies Pokemon abilities (talking about levels, experience points, etc).

Yeah, that is kinda lame. I also don't think it's necessary for the game, but Sharkers would just hack out the details anyway, so it hardly matters.

Ban censorship!

Before, the show was shown as follows (times are approximate):

-theme song
-commercial break
-0:10 segment
-9:50 segment
-commercial break
-8:30 segment
-1:30 segment
-commercial break
-song
-credits

and are now shown as follows:

-0:10 segment
-theme song
-commercial break
-9:50 segment
-commercial break
-8:30 segment
-commercial break
-1:30 segment
-credits

Same number of commercial breaks.

I prefer this over the new layout of commercial breaks. It's a lot like how the Japanese do it. One break after the opening, one break in the middle, and a break between the end of the show and the ending theme. I guess they changed it because they removed the song that is normally tacked onto the end. But I don't see why they couldn't put the break between the end of the show and the ending credits. 9_9

This is how we do it in Finland...

Commercial break
Theme song
20:00 segment
Credits
Commercial break (before the next show)

The assholes banned Pokérap & Pikachu's Jukebox & all of the ending stuff, cause angry parents phoned the consumer ombudsman who said that it was subliminal advertising, so they had to remove it...

bastards

Subliminal! Do people in that country even know what Subliminal means? If something's sumliminal, you DON'T know it's affecting you!

Why not ban the entire show, the whole thing is one big advertisement using that logic...

Wow, Finland doesn't have any commercials during the show? That must be nicer to watch (but how do they handle the "Who's that Pokemon?"), although I expect that the station gets a lot less advertising money this way.

They probably show the first part, and less then a second later they show the second part.

Speed Star. I believe it's the direct translation of Swift from Japanese. It's used in all/most of the comic books as well, and not just by Starmie.
