- Silver is the more popular version, and I like to go against popular things, so I'm leaning towards Gold.
- I like the color silver better than gold.
- I think Lugia looks cooler than Ho-Oh.
- Vulpix, Ninetails, and Persian are some of my favorite Pokémon, and they are found only in Silver, also Skarmory looks pretty cool. But then, Teddiursa looks very cute, and it's only in Gold.
- I heard somewhere that the Pokémon pictures were better in Silver than Gold, but, in flipping though my Pokédex I bought today, it seems pretty even. Some Pokemon look better in Gold, and some better in Silver.

So, what do you guys think?

The thing is, I'm pretty much forced to buy Silver since my brother got Gold a few months ago. But there is always breeding...

I've heard that Silver erases itself more easily than Gold. If it's true, I don't know, but I'm not so happy to be forced to buy Silver, if it erases itself.

Teddiursa is THE most cute Pokemon, IMHO.

I understand your problems with choosing either of these. It is a very common problem, and you shouldn't be ashamed of it. In fact, even I had the same problem when I was your age. I had no-one to ask for help. Or so I thought. One day, my father came to me and asked: "What's wrong, son?" I told him the whole story: where it had began, how it had gone, and how I was going to end it. I thought that no-one could help me in my problem. But he could.

I think you should ask your mother (I've got the image that you are female) for advice in a situations like this. She may not seem always nice, but she does, after all, love you.

...or then just go with the Gold, like I did. It's rarer, so you have a greater chance to meet someone with a different version than you have.

I got Silver first, because it's a pretty color. ^_^

You have a good point there. In fact that was the argument I used when trying to explain to my boyfriend why I liked Pokémon. So, you're right, that's a stupid reason to chose gold.

It seems I'm hearing alot about G/S getting erased, I've never had this problem with R/B/Y. Or maybe it's just because I've never been in a group of Pokemon people before? Either way, this worries me. Maybe I should get a memory card?

The problem I have with getting Pokémon not in the version I get is that I don't know anybody that plays Pokémon, except my ex-boyfriend, who I don't talk to any more. I hate to cheat, but I just might have to use my shark. I don't think I could live without a Teddiursa, OR a Vulpix. Damn my misanthropic antisocial nature!

It's not antisocialism that's the problem. It's that so many people think Pokemon is a stupid game for little kids. I'll admit, I used to wonder myself before I got it what the big deal was...but once I played it for a while, I realized that it is one of the best games I've ever played. Many kids (esepcially teenage boys) think Pokemon is a toddler game or something. It's just not widely accepted, which is a shame. Those asses don't know what they're missing, which is arguably the best Gameboy series ever. I've turned three people already with my Pokemon preaching, and they're all good players now.

Oh yeah, get Silver. I think it looks cooler. The Gold cart is kinda ugly to me, even though it does contain Teddiursa and Ariados.

But in the end, it's about the same if you get Silver or Gold.
