I think the topic pretty much explains itself. I am now in Sprout Tower (I FINALLY got my Gold, yay!), and battling against the leader. I beat his two Bellsprouts with my Gastly. Then he sends out Hoothoot. Here's what happened.

GASTLY used HYPNOSIS!
It doesn't affect enemy HOOTHOOT!
HOOTHOOT used FORESIGHT!
Enemy HOOTHOOT identified GASTLY!
GASTLY used HYPNOSIS!
It doesn't affect enemy HOOTHOOT!
Enemy HOOTHOOT used TACKLE!
Critical hit!
GASTLY fainted!

Eh, was it because of Foresight? But still, I think it shouldn't hit... Because Fissure doesn't affect Flying-types, even when using the OHKO-Poliwrath, right? Or was it because of the critical?

Could somebody please explain, what on earth happened?

One effect of Foresight is that types that were once immune now take normal damage.

Oh, and in case you didn't know, hypnosis won't work on hoot-hoot cuz hoot-hoot is part normal, which is immune to ghost attacks
Hypnosis IS a ghost attack....right?

Nope. Hypnosis is Psychic-type. You just got damn unlucky. That is all.

Yeah, Hypnosis is a Psychic attack. I was just unlucky. I was wondering why Tackle could hit me...

Tackle hit because of Foresight. It likes to aggravate Minimizers/DTers and Ghost-types.

Also, I believe that Hypnosis does work on Dark-types.
