Anyone buy it? Is it any good? I am thinking of getting one, if they actually tell the correct TM's and such.

I havn't ever seen the Pokedex guide anywhere, just the walkthrough. So maybe you guys don't know what I am talking about.

I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't list any of the attacks learned through breeding (hardly any of the magazines that have covered G/S have said anything about breeding to learn new attacks, all the ones I've read just say it's for getting the baby Pokemon and that's it).

I know I can get a good one over the internet, But I like a nice book so I can read it while I play. Whenever I print a long thing from the internet, it gets out of order, I lose pages, and many other things.

Listen,

I only wanted to know if anyone had it, so maybe I could get some input on weather to buy it or not. Sheesh.

I might buy if I see it, or hear about it. Until then, I won't.

Goodness, I remember a time when Azure wasn't overrun by so many new people....

If you are referring to the Offical Nintendo Guide Book, than no. It has no information on what TM or HMs can be used on who, no breeding charts, no breed-only attacks, etc.

They are releasing an updated on, I have yet to see that.

Actually, I reccomend NOT buying it. There are many good ones online. And in the words of George Costanza, "Why pay for it when, if I apply myself, I can get it for free?".

I think the original poster meant the updated one.

Exactly.

I made a great one for RBY.
It printed out to about 20 pages.

My GS version is 30% complete.
It should print out to 30 to 40 pages.

My sister got the Pokemon Handbook #2 on Friday. I looked over it and it was a total joke.

The pokedex was the real total Joke. Not only did it not have all 100 new pokemon but they sometimes named moves that are not even in the game:

They said Chikorita learns a move called Temperature?
Gligar and stanler learns sand throw?
Blissey learns egg recover and submission?
Lugia learns mist and not recover?
Ho-oh learns normal??????

Is that true? It's totally inaccurate? Damnit, I am so disappointed! Anybody know of a really good online one?

Hopefully you have a lot of ink in your printer.

Also, don't forget that it's still a work in progress...

O_o

What you been smokin?

Go to White Cat's, f00. It's "accurate." It has "correct" information. I know this may seem like a foreign idea to you, since you think TPM has a good Pokédex and all.

i've wandered into the pokémon center again...

if you're *just* looking for a 'dex, there are three that are very useful. first is white cat's, prob'ly the best 'dex to start with, print out, and use any time (and my first choice in a pinch). second is necrosaro's entire site, useful to see where to look for your pokémon, and i think it has the least errors of the three. third (as humbly as i can say this) is mine, which goes page by page per pokémon and lets you track the lineage for breeding moves. all three 'dexes have errors, but all three writers are all too happy for such inputs and change the problems at their earliest opportunity.

i'd also suggest checking out pokémon daily for attack info and meowth346's page for in-depth breeding information. it would be difficult to get a single, printable pokédex which includes all the info available in these sites without stepping on people's toes, but i think all the authors will be happy to let their stuff be used if you ask nicely. i think white cat's is the best choice for this right now.

as for pictures, i had some once, but i like the idea of my site being original pics. since i had the official ones in my 'dex and didn't have the patience to draw even 251 original chickenscratch sketches, i just took 'em out.

Find a printer with a manual paper feed, and use it to print the guide on notebook (3-hole) paper. Then get a 3-ring binder, put the printout in it, and voila!
