Hmmm, who's using Psychic in Gold and Silver? I Know they were the BEST is R/B/Y and so far I'm doing OK, but thats in the game. When we all start linking up all the time were gonna see a lot of Psykillers, The Dreaded Umbreon!!! Mind you, with Mewtwo haveing Amnesia and Alakazam learning Light Screen when Bred, they might do OK, your thoughts please? Will anyone teach Mewtwo Submission/Exploding Punch?

Lugia has good Special Defence. 406, if I recall rightly. No, I won't use Mewtwo. It's still cheap.

You don't need Light Screen ON an Alakazam. Just Baton Pass the Screen to it.

I've got Submission on my Mewtwo at the moment, but it's going for Thunderbolt ASAP. Mewtwo wouldn't last long aginst a Houndoom/Tyranitar/Umbreon anyway.

Houndoom would go down w/a couple of Body Slams from Mewtwo...

I'm trying to get fighting power on M2...Buh-bye Houndoom + Tyranitar! Ty is 4x weak to fighting!!!

On the other hand, Umbreon can last, using the Toxic/Mean Look combo. Umbreon is the ONLY Dark that can stand its ground against Mewtwo, IMHO.

Umm, I'm still using Alakazam in G/S. With his new ability to learn the elemental punches via TM, he's getting better and better. Sure, there is that Dark weakness, and he might not be that good in like battles...like you said, everyone will be training anti-Psychics now...but Alakazam still works wonders in the story part of the game. He's still got my vote as a Psychic bad-ass.

Even in G/S, Psychics are still very strong. Alakazam has kept his Speed and his sky-high Special Attack. Exeggutor has remained usable (Sleep Powder + Dream Eater + Nightmare = R.I.P.). Jynx has the fiendish Mean Look, and its Special Attack has jumped to a beefy 328. Starmie, while not regularly used for its Psychic type, is still a pain in the ass thanks to Confuse Ray. And Mewtwo...well, he's just been temporarily inconvenienced. He still boasts the highest Special Attack around, and Amnesia nicely covers his Special Defense shortcomings.

As for the new Psychics, Girafarig is ubiquitous, Xatu is a nice Hazer, and Lugia is a demon of defense (and speedy to boot).

Nob Donut: No
Nob Donut: none of that stuff is my fault
Karnivax: Whew.
Nob Donut: yeah, i think so too. I'd be using names like Biff, Pongo, Goober, that sort of thing

This is so true.

Psychics downfall? All that has changed is that theres a type that psychic attacks dont effect and a type that is resistant to psychic attacks, 3 type of attacks that do double damage to them, and alot of them have crap special defense. Look at all the other types. Take flying for example. They are weak to ice, electric, and rock, both very common attacks and they are still used by the same people who say psychics are no crap. They've just been brought down a little bit. People still use normal type attacks even though they dont effect ghost and are split for rock and steel, people still use ground even though it doesnt effect flying. Psychics are still strong. Strong with their special attacks. Strong by their move capabilities. Strong against the same types. Mewtwo is still cheap. Remember that psychics can have more moves than just psychic.
