And where might I get one of these? Is it a move, or an item or what?

It's attached to Ho-Oh when you catch it.

thought so. How does it work? Just have Ho-oh in ur team and when someone faints they get revived? Does it work forever? Do I have to be using Ho-oh for them to be revived?

It sounds too good to be true. There must be a catch.

You only get one in the entire game. And when you use it, it's gone forever.

So... DUPE THE LITTLE SUCKER!

There's only a 26.5% chance Ho-Oh will have it...

Where did you get this info from? Because, I have caught Ho-Oh on Silver and Gold, and it had Sacred Ash. My friends also have gold and silver, and they all got sacred ash from Ho-Oh...

Of course it can only be used once. Can you imagine it constantly reviving every pokemon that gets fainted?

I was wondering how exactly it works, though.
Say Ho-oh has Sacred Ash attached:

Articuno's Snorlax fainted.
Articuno sends out Starmie.
Articuno's Starmie fainted.
Articuno sends out Ho-oh.
Starmie revived using Sacred Ash.

or

Articuno's Snorlax fainted.
Articuno sends out Starmie.
Articuno's Starmie fainted.
Articuno sends out Ho-oh.
Snorlax revived using Sacred Ash.

I take it that it uses itself automatically and you can't pick which pokémon you want to revive?

Notice that Sacred Ash doesn't have "HOLD" in its description. It has no effect when attached to a Pokemon; it only works when actively used, which can't be done in link battles.

Thanx for that White Cat, I had just realised it was to be used in the field (out of battle).
