I am playing Silver and I have not yet come across Houndour or Houndoom, are they in the version, or do I have to get Gold? What time of day do they come out at? Thanks for any help!

East of Celadon City is a single grassy spot. In it, you can find level 15 Houndours. This works in both the Gold AND Silver versions.

It's a night only Pokemon. You can catch Murkrow there too.

Actually, it's supposed to come out only at night. Night is normally the only time most Dark types come out, and I've never seen a Houndour out in the morning or during the day outside of a trainer battle.

How could you have done this when there is only an 8% chance of finding one at NIGHT and 0% at the morning and during the day. In Both versions.

I'll warn you about Murkrow. I was battling a L:17 Murkrow, paralyzed and at about 1 Hp. I had a L:56 Ampharos out. I threw a Level Ball. It easily escaped. It took the Level Ball and 10 Ultra Balls to catch it. Then, I restarted, this time taking only 5 Ultra Balls. Snorlax had more HP and I threw 3 Heavy Balls at it to catch it.

In other words, be prepared if you want to catch Murkrow.

Did you try a pokeball? Those things are unpredictable! I tried catching pokemon with great balls and ultra balls but they sometimes never work. I trow a pokeball and it instantly catches it!
