Perhaps you two liked it better in tourneys where everyone and their mom had lax/kazam/zapdos/mewtwo/slowbro. Do you enjoy unbalanced games? G/S actually gives a lot more opportunity to r/b/y pokes and a few decent g/s ones. If you're happy with using r/b/y's few powerhouses, then enjoy.

In a few years... hmm... truthfully, I evaluate what I percieve to be the long term use of a game, but I've been wrong before... My money as of now is on the metallics. They have a lot of things the chromatics don't, and only give up a few things (strong difficutly curve being the hardest one to lose).

One thing that I kinda chuckled at is the all people claiming G/S brought a world of "balance" to the series. Though now I'm sure (if there were competitions) that everyone would be sporting their Snorlax/Zapdos/Miltank/Skarmory/Blissey and whathaveyou.

Hell I don't know what people use these days, I'm getting old.

From a single player point of view: Hell mafugging no. The single player part of the game is so boring it takes away all motivation to train your pokés. *uses RBY ball*

From a multiplayer point of view: Yes, but RBY isn't far behind. You can use almost any pokémon you like, but you can do that in RBY too, in GSC you have baton pass and such to help your weak favourites, though, which balances the game more.

game-wise, i think i liked being a r/b/y newb more than playing g/s/c and "boring" my way thru the game.

battle-wise though, i would have to say g/s/c. there is A LOT more variety in g/s/c. and plus, i'm no good at r/b/y anymore [Razz]
