Why must all new Pokemon be such complete krap?

Out of the new pokemon that I've seen used, 9/10 of them were just evolutions of stuff already present in RBY...Blissey, Crobat, Umbreon, etc.

God forbid the creation of something that WORKS. Same goes for the TMs too.

I actually like some of the new ones. Umbreon, Steelix, Scizor, Xatu, etc. They're not all bad. Some of them are a little weak or strange, but more than half I'd say are cool and/or useful. G/S rules.

All useful G/S Pokémon originated in R/B/Y. Even the "popular" G/S Pokémon are pretty lame when compared with their R/B/Y counterparts.

Wouldn't it be gay if they released a game with a bunch of monsters that make the old ones unplayable?

I'm not making a list, but I'd say that they kept about the same percent of "tournament quality" monsters to total monsters that they've always had...

...and I *really* like the evolutions on existing monsters. Metal Scyther? That's awesome. They new Scyther had fanboys, and they treated them right. Two new eeveelutions? Badass...

Not viewed from a power gaming standpoint they did a wonderful job. I do wish that some of the wacked new dual types were usuable (water ground, etc.), though... but maybe I'm missing something.

IIRC, Espeon is an evolution of Eevee.

How about something original AND useful?

Lanturn, Xatu, Ampharos, Girafarig, Forretress, Shuckle, Heracross, Ursaring, Octillery, Houndoom, Donphan, Miltank, Tyranitar, Lugia, Ho-oh, the Legendary Cats, and possibly Skarmory and Celebi are all tournament-level quality.
