Anyone see that stupid anime commercial?Well, I thought it was stupid, because the Johto Gym Leaders are very, very easy(Except for maybe Whitney, with that D*** Miltank). I think I know why G/S is easier or quicker to beat. Its because there are less "Mini Quests" that you HAVE to complete. There is only(to my knowlage): Radio Tower(The Biggie one) Slowpoke Well(Simple) In R/B/Y:
Silph Co. Game Corner Ghost Tower Seafoam Islands(okay, you don't have to beat this, but I did, before I found that you could Fly to Pallet then surf) Victory Road So you can see that that is why its easier. They prolly can't have all those Side Quests because they are more attacks, pokemon, and stuff like that. Ideas? Comments? *tests new siggy, hopes it fits "the requirements"* ------------------ Jman, G/S Reasercher In-training Please check out my website, home of my studies at: http://all.at/jman

A few random thoughts that might explain why "G/S is easier then R/B/Y": 1. Our Pokémon knowledge is much more extensive. In R/B/Y we used crappier Pokémon, rather then decent ones with killer movesets. 2. The level of the opponents Pokémon never increase! They finally increase beyond level 30 in Celadon City! My team reached level 30 by Olivine City. It's sickening to fight Pokémon that are usually 15 levels lower then your team. 3. The Gym leaders only have two or three Pokémon, which makes the "bosses" of the game extremely easy. 4. All the trainers you encounter are using the lower evolutions of their Pokémon, which cripples their effectiveness. 5. There aren't any lengthy "caves" or large "Silph Co. Battle" squences. You're basically traveling along routes with maybe 4 trainers on them. ------------------

Whitney was Godd*mn easy... maybe that's because my starter was female...Anyway, the gym leaders have AI set to "quasi-Stadium" to cope with their bad Pokémon. Anyway, death be to the Trainer who actually BEATS me, I've only "whited out" twice. And that was against Bugsy (her !%#&*!% Scyther got my Quilava in one !^&* hit with that !^*&^% Fury Cutter). Oh, and I lost to Morty once, !&*%*&^ Gengar... Anyway, the Gym Leaders are a bit harder, to cope with all the lack of subquests. Still, you only really need three Pokémon to fight, one "Swiss Army Krab" or two for HM's, and you've won, except against that ^!%# %!$# !%&% Elite Four... you need like 14 Revives... and then there's Lance... and Red's godforsaken Snorlax... ------------------ "But, it was so artistically done." --Grand Admiral Thrawn's final words, Star Wars: The Last Command [This message has been edited by Marril (edited 10-20-2000).]

Her? Bugsy is male (he looks like a young bishounen, actually).

I got Prima's guide book to GS before I even got the game and, man, did I think it looked difficult! With so many new attacks and items and new places to visit, I honestly thought I was screwed! (Not to mention new hidden items, POKEMON, methods of breeding, trading, evolution, oh gosh...) But when I actually started to play it -- bam, I got it instantly! Nothing too hard.By the way, don't buy Prima's strategy guide -- there isn't even a Pokedex! You've got to buy it in a separate book! (The only reason I chose to buy it is because it showed the base damage done by all the attacks; some rather valuable information that will eel its way online soon enough.) ------------------ Land und Leute - Land and People Ask not what you can do for your Pokemon, but what your Pokemon can do for you. =P [This message has been edited by Land und Leute (edited 10-21-2000).]
