The game has a internal clock. It should change to night past 6:00 I think.

Here's the thing:

You played seven hours, but IT WAS STILL DAY TIME IRL.

Metallics run on REAL TIME in terms of their internal clock. Play at 7:30 pm, it will BE 7:30 pm.

Got it?

So if I play at 7pm, save and shut off and the next day I play at around 12:PM in the afternoon. So the game will say that if is the afternoon instead of the night time.

The times of day come and go in eight hour shifts.

Night: 6 PM - 2 AM

Morning: 2 AM - 10 AM

Day: 10 AM - 6 PM

Hmmm.... From my observations it's more like this:

Night: 6 PM - 5 AM

Morning: 5 AM - 10 AM

Day: 10 AM - 6 PM

Okay.... I was up REALLY early the day after I bought it and couldn't sleep.... So sue me.... Or perhap in my 3 hours of sleep I messed up on recording the time.....

Morning- 4:00a.m. - 10:00a.m.

Day- 10:00a.m. - 6:00p.m.

Night- 6:00p.m. - 4:00a.m.

Mr. E has the correct time data.

I'm not really sure how to describe the difference between morning and afternoon; I think morning is a little brighter.

Personally, I set my clock to be six hours slow, so I'd have access to all time periods on my normal schedule. This makes it:

Morning: 10:00am - 4:00pm
Daytime: 4:00pm - 12:00am
Night: 12:00am - 10:00am

If you want to change it fast, at the title screen, where Lugia/Ho-oh is flying, press Select-Down-B, it'll bring up a clock change screen. Good luck guessing the password, it's never the same twice! =D

Edit: if you want to skip that krap, then just turn off the power when the screen is black getting INTO a wild Pokémon battle.
