Actually, most EB stores have it now (along with a few others). Nintendo decided to change the release date because Sunday was just a bad day to release it on because of the limited hours.

According to IGN, video games don't come out on Sundays, period. This kind of confused me because even official sources (i.e. the NoA web site) say that it's coming out on a Sunday. *head spins*

Yeah, I got mine yesterday from Babbage's software. It's a pretty good game so far. I've only got the first badge, but I've got some Pokemon I like, and they're growing fast. Silver rocks!

I just got my Silver version at Wal*Mart so check out Wal*Mart as well as EB. I don't know if it came out there on the 11th but it looked like they had just put the games out. I got is at 11:30 pm so I ended up having to fight with two cashiers and a night manager about me having pre-ordered the thing. They were willing to sell it but they didn't get why I was wanting $5 off because I had a strange receipt :P

Anyway I rushed on here in case I was the first one (doh!). Let me go over this again since some people are confused. My local Wal*Mart had copies of Pokemon Gold and Silver on the shelf. Other Wal*Marts MAY too. The release date is STILL set for Oct 16 so the retailers are screwing up and shelving the game the day or so they received it. My Wal*Mart did a poor job with the pre-sells so it doesn't surprise me that the idiots put it out early (I sure as hell wasn't going to point it out to them).

Another thing to note. With my Wal*Mart they put pre-ordered game behind the counter so the clerks don't sell them. No games were behind the counter...they were all on the shelf. That means if they happened to sell all the Gold/Silver games before the people who pre-ordered the game show up next week there are going to be a lot of angry trainers. I suggest that if you pre-ordered from Wal*Mart you check your store and secure your copy if they have them out early.

I got Silver there today for $27.88, and they had loads of both versions. The signs all over still said "coming soon."

I probably shoulda waited for Best Buy, because if anyone advertises a lower price, you can get bux back with your receipt.

Oh well. Got the game. Good to go.

EB had it for $34.99. "We can't seem to get rid of these things."

Gee, I wonder why.
