Hey gang! Recently there has been an ever-growing hype surrounding the soon-to-be-released Gold/Silver in America. I am considering whether or not it would be worth my while to buy it, as I live in a small town in Georgia, where there are rarely any tournaments or any pokémon-related events that are within driving distance. In addition to that, I only have a handful of friends who I can battle against. Given all these different circumstances, I have seriously been thinking about whether or not it would be worth my while to buy Gold/Silver. Which is where you guys come in. Based on everything I've said, do you think it would still be wise to buy Gold or Silver?

Unlike the other Poké games -G/S is very playable on it's own - but it'll wear out eventually unlike multiplayer games...

Eh, I'd say buy it, if anything to keep up...besides, if you pre-order it now, you get a hilarious CD, atleast from TRU, that's a laugh riot...mainly the trivia, the first question was "Who is the leader of the Saffron City gym?" and the genius programmers put Misty...ROFLMAO...

Heh, no one here has a clue what a Pokemon tourney is, PERIOD, outside of TCG of course.

go ahead and buy it, from what ive been hearing it still worth is as a single player game.

and some of the trivia questions really make you laugh.

my fav is the one asking what is wrong with this statement involving Muk, Fire Blast and the Pika cup.

Hey Venusaur, I don't know hardly anyone that lives too close by to battle pokemon, but I'm still getting Gold and Silver. The game looks AWESOME and I think you'll enjoy it anyway. I hardly ever get to do any real person battles and I still enjoy playing pokemon. So go for it!

Me and my friend were on the train talking about Pokemon. This guy next to us says, "You like Pokemon?"
My friend says, "Yes, but only the Japanese version (in regard to the anime)."
The guy responds with, "Wait, there's JAPANESE Pokemon?"

The Game is great even if you can't have multplayer battles.
When Pokemon stadium G/S(or 2/3) comes
out you can have lots of fun beating
the heck out of the AI.
Either Way Gold and Silver Rule.

Well, I'm Friendless in Poopville and I'm buying both versions.

Damn, "I must be stupid, must be crazy, must be outta my mind."

But then again I buy lots of stuff I don't need. And as far as I'm concerned, I suppose that I'm buying it living under the illusion that I'll either find people here who play it, or Biffster will move out here. Hell, I don't know. As a 1-player game, it's really not worth taking the time out of Unreal Tournament or Quake III, so I suppose I'll just buy it so I can say I have Pokemon.

And it's gotta be better than the alternative (clicking around on a Pokemon Forum filled with info on games I wouldn't have).
