Here's a quote from the lastest issue of Expert Gamer (as best I can remember it), talking about the disadvantages of rental Pokemon in Stadium...

quote:
One of the main problems with them is that they frequently only know one attack of their type. Seriously, what's the point of a Charizard with only one Fire attack? Such a moveset will be a serious hindrance in battle...

Their battle chart even says that Ghost attacks are super-effective against Psychic! C'mon, even the official Nintendo sources corrected this over a year ago. Yeesh.

And that's why we don't read Expert Gamer. Although EGM is pretty good.

HAHA...

and they used Charizard to represent their fire pokemon. That makes me laugh even more!

Oh, whoa. That thing about Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon TCG from Expert Gamer was stuck onto a poster thing, and packed in with the August issue of EGM, as an "editorial supplement to EGM." Yeah, that exact sentence that White Cat quoted was there, too. Expert Gamer must be a horrible Pokemon strategy magazine. Did you see how much space they devoted to techniques on beating the Mewtwo in Stadium? They said it beat them numerous times...

It beat them numerous times!?! Ha Ha!

I beat it using three rentals, Gengar, Snorlax, and Omastar.

I had my rental Abra only for use of Thunderwave.

The others (I think one was an exeggutor) did some butt kicking. Heck, I let my little sister fight him for a while when I went to the bathroom and I still won!

Boy, those guys have some problems.

Heh! The reason why EGM is pretty good 'sometimes' is that they blatantly rip off the FAQ writers 'sometimes.'

I have some friends whos FAQs are posted on gamefaqs that got really pissed when EGM copied their stuff without asking.

Seeyas!

I cannot even process such incompetence. I know of little children smarter than that.
How come only idiots write for all of these big magezines? There are enough intelligent people here alone? Aren't there any more?

Speaking of idiots, I was at The Pojo (I was trying to find TM lists that told the selling price of unique TMs, okay?) and they gave the Swords Dance TM a rating of one star! The worse possible! *cough cough* Idiots *cough*.

I use both those TM's a lot!

I use toxic on them and DT up while they die - this combo thrashes anything silly enough to stay out

I use Swords dance twice and keep hitting em with hyper beam - messes them up totally! (or earthquake in stadium (when they aren't a flying type of course))

I suppose you could say it is very poor because it doesn't actually do anything itself - but it is one of the best supporting moves in the game (I like DT more)

Silly, silly Expert Gamer... At least they credited me for discovering the existence of secret CHEAT codes in Banjo-Kazooie.

Really, they did!

I'm serious!

I think it was in the September 1998 issue. It was whatever issue had the last part of their full Banjo-Kazooie coverage. On the last page they mention the rumor of the special CHEAT codes, with David Zielinski (that's me) as the discoverer. Neat, eh?
