I've been using an Aerodactyl to counter a particular SDancing Mew for a while, but recently the frikkin thing was altered, switching Swift for Blizzard. It's got Earthquake, SDance, and SBoiled, and Blizzard, which makes it capable of taking out Flying Pokemon, the main ones in charge of taking it out. Does anyone have any ideas about how to handle this unpleasant turn of events? I'd appreciate it grrreatly.

DOUBLE TEAM! w/o Swift, you're opponent is very vulnerable to the move.

Solutions to your problem:

  • Articuno. Ice Beam or Blizzard that sucker into oblivion.

  • Zapdos. Enable LightScreen and make use of it's offensive capability.

    Blizzard...what an idiot. I wouldve used RockSlide to deal with Fliers.

    Hmmm... that's not that bad of an idea... I don't think it would be too unreasonable to expect to see some quake/slide dancers popping up pretty soon... except that all those newbies who use DT on every guy they have will start to rule the world! NOO!!!

    Consider this:
    We the internet community of Pokemon players make up maybe 10% of all Pokemon players.

    Those other 90% are mostly newbies.
    ALL newbies love their starters and legendaries and Mews.

    Blizzard? If he wants to counter-act flying pokemon, he should have used Ice Beam. He'd need the accuracy to deal with DT

    That's still awfully optimistic. I'd say closer to 96%. And a good deal of those on the Net are still newbies (UPN'ers, for instance)

    I would have to agree that Rock Slide would work better in this SwdDance situation, barring the opponent's use of Double Team.

    {Swift}
    {Swords Dance}
    {Softboiled}
    {Explosion}

    Great against tanking Snorlaxes, especially if they have Rest. Wear 'em down and when they Rest, send in this guy and explode just after they wake up. Result: Fainted Snorlax. Unless they use Double Team on that too.

    But I digress...

    Toxic would be another alternative. Slap Toxic on something that already Double Teams well, and poison the Mew before it starts to Double Team. By the time they finish Double Teaming, the poison will have almost killed it, and Softboiled will be of no use once the poison damage increases to the point of no return, where poison does more than Softboiled can recover. That'll at least force the opponent to switch it out if they're not stubborn enough to keep it in.
