Just how well does the Chansifier work? I'm preparing one for an upcoming battle, 1-on-1 against a Mewtwo. The M2 player is something of a newbie, but he knows I'll be using Chansey so he'll be concentrating more on physical moves than normal. I'm expecting Psychic, Amnesia, Recover, and Mega Punch; or maybe even Seismic Toss since he knows Fighting is strong against Normal. (The poor fool... ;-)) Anyway, could a Chansifier stand up to this guy? Thanks.

He is sad if he thinks that it maters that sismic toss is fighting. I think you could still beat him especialy if he has sismic toss. Although you could add counter and then use chancys bad defence to your advantage.

Wouldn't it be smarter to use a Chansey with Softboiled, Light Screen, Minimize, and Toxic if it's a one on one battle? Basically anything with Toxic could work if it can stand up to Mewtwo for a couple turns.

I've recently discovered that Bide (an other wise useless attack) can be really good when fighting against newbies, if you do things right, he will weaken chansey by a few hundred hp, chansey will use bide and he will fall easily
or at least, that WOULD work if he was a sort of idiot.
(BTW, chansey is my favourite pokemon of all time

I would say Bide or Counter, since Chansey has huge HP, but stick in Toxic and Softboiled to keep Chansey alive and the damage rolling to Mewtwo. IMHO, this would be a good moveset:
Bide Softboiled Toxic A special attack of your choice

Counter is preferable over Bide, because, keep in mind, Chansey DOES have a lot of HP, but its defense sucks as bad as its attack. You'll be lucky to break 100 defense on a Level 100 Chansey. Let's put it this way -- Countering a Hyper Beam with a Chansey is enough to take out any other Pokemon in the game, guaranteed.

If it's 1-on-1 I'd REALLY sugest the toxic moveset but if you're sure he's gonna use physical attacks use the Sub/Counter/L.Screen/S.Boiled combo. -Givera

Not true, Bide, as well as all attacks, have a use, just because none of you have found out how to use them correctly does not mean the move sucks, it just means that you do not know how to use it. Bide is an example, people say it sucks, this is ignorance of the potential of this move. You are supposed to use Bide when your opponent's pokémon is slower than you, DUH! and is best to use it with a healing move.
