All agree that stadium is a kick ass game.

Wouldn't it be awesome if the battles accually looked like the 2 pokémon were fighting??? Most of the attack animations are the same...grrr
I would rather listen to the gameboy music then the stadium music.

Why can't nintendo make a game really good with the time that they had?

You guys, I think that Nintendo should just give up and license pokemon to sega temporarily. Then we could play Stadium on Dreamcast in mega high-rez, with CD quality sound, and use the VMU to call moves. Not one of you could argue that that wouldn't be sweet.

StarCaliber: ACK! OH! IT HURTS!
Are you serious? You would rather have had SEGA behind Pokémon all this time? Sure, right now Dreamcast may have the best graphics (not for long with PS2 and Dolphin come out, though) but they can't make games nearly as high quality as Nintendo. Nintendo made Pokémon what it is today. Do you honestly think we would be here talking about the Pokémon series if the first GB titles had been only mediocre?

Game Freaks programmed the game, remember. But yes, NCL has it for developing incredible games. NOA is good too... at marketing. What else does "wholly owned subsidary" mean, besides "distribution/marketing platform?"

I mean the games are coded in Japan. They translate them in Japan. The produce them in Japan, and then they ship them over, cart by cart.

Sega sucks

*Caos2 having a heart attack*

Nintendo is the one that sucks. I hate all their consoles [even GB, only Pokemon saves me from bashing GB].

Do you know that 30% of the first release of the Classic Nes had serious bugs? Nintendo just saw at Sega`s sucess and copied the hardware.

Supernes is a horrible console too. The only game in S-Nes is Chrono Trigger [best RPG, ever].

Nintendo64 is a freaking joke.

Nintendo does anything for money. Just look at the merchandise. Sega is almost giving free Dreamcasts with the Seganet thing.

What`s next? Sony isn`t a blood sucker?

Just look at Playstation2! First was the big price: freaking 500 Dollars. Then the bugs started:

Save cartdriges with problem. After you got a save file from Can`t-Remember-Game-Name you couldn`t play DVDs anymore.

Now is that disc that all the PS2 come, all have problems.

Sega is just the best. 32x wasn`t that bad at all. Saturn kick ass.

Saturn? Kick Ass? Are you sleeping? Playstation rocked that garbage. Anything Sega has put out that isn't in an arcade is trash compared to what Nintendo and Sony have made.
Although I admit N64 had a total SH*T library of games available it was still capable of plenty (The catridge screwd the 64)

No you guys, I think that you misunderstood what I meant. First of all, I have absolutely NOTHING against Nintendo, and as a matter of fact, I think that they make the BEST first party games in the world. Sega and Sony wouldn't have thought of Pokemon in a million years; they are too concerned with getting out popular kinds of games, and most likely view Pokemon as "too kiddy." And as a matter of fact, I still play my N64 a lot, and the games are not bad in the least (i.e. Super Smash Bros., Pokemon Stadium, GoldenEye 007, Turok: Rage Wars - parties only - and the All Star Baseball Series). Not to mention that Nintendo has a very strong lineup of games on the horizon (StarCraft 64, Perfect Dark, and Excitebike 64). So believe me, I think Nintendo is the bomb. But seriously, they slacked on Stadium. They could have AT LEAST stuck in voices. The Stadium cart already costs 60 bucks (and dont give me this crap about how it is only because of the transfer pak, because Star Fox and Donkey Kong were both packaged with better accessories for 60 bucks). I mean come on, Resident Evil 2 (N64 version) was 512 megabits. And another thing that they could have done was allow Expansion Pak support for the game. The pokemon look great on the Pokédex and after you snap pictures, but they look a little fuzzy in the game itself. And I know that my remarks about Sega making Stadium were out of line, and it would NEVER happen, but there is not a single one of you who could EVER convince me that VMU move calling would not have been the coolest thing in the world. And know, Sega would have done a crappy job on the gameplay and that should always be left to Nintendo, but they could've made one helluva game out of Stadium on DC. Plus, they would have had to pay Nintendo millions of dollars. Glad we cleared that up.

Perfect Dark
Isn`t this game that is planned that you can make the face of your char in GB and then transfer it to play multplayer games?

Well, the game crashes when you try to transfer.

And in Saturn, you can switch character in Marvel vs Capcom in the middle of the fight. Not like some other console I know.
I doubt that PS can even RUN Virtual On.

One more thing:

Look at MvC2 for DC. It just rocks. Just like Virtua On2.

I gotta admit that Sega does always come out with the new techonology first. Problem is, that in their rush to beat out Nintendo and Sony, they usually find themselves dying out sooner. Look at the Saturn. Does anyone talk about it anymore? I admit, I was jealous of my friend's X-men vs Streetfighter when it came out on Saturn, but now he has no more games to buy for it cause noone makes saturn games anymore. PSX and N64 are still going strong.

I can see this happening to the dreamcast. In a few years, noone will give a crap about it and PS2 and the Dolphin(Is that the name? Yuck!) will be left to duke it out by themselves.

Sure Soul Calibur looks good right now, but when Tekken Tag Tournament comes out, I doubt that anyone will remember who Cervantes or Voldo are. Personally, I can't wait to see my Jin and King team in action on the PS2. hehehe

Oh and back on topic, yeah Stadium could have been better. I particularly hate the bind/wrap animations. Yech.

Sorry Slo Migs, but I think you're wrong. DC is always gonna be up there with the other systems. All it needs is some good third-party support (you KNOW that's why that hunk of crap PlayStation is still "going strong.") And the DC already has more 3rd party support than Saturn ever did. And Tekken Tag isn't the Soul Calibur killer; they are different games. They need a Tag Mode in Soul Calibur 2. The Tag Mode alone is what has me so hooked on playing Dead or Alive 2 right now anyway. And PS2 CAN'T look that much better than DC, because it will still have the same handicap that all consoles have: it's running on a TV, not a high-rez monitor. Maybe that's why Unreal Tournament looks so good...

Oh yeah, and about Stadium on Dolphin? Yeah right. I don't even think I wanna get a Dolphin (where's the internet and full DVD functionality). X-Box is the one to wait for. And in the mean time, while you fools wait so patiently for your futuristic systems, I'll just keep playing Mega high-rez gaming on DC. Oh yeah, and a little Pokemon too...

I like my Playstation. It even helped me win something in the Six Degrees of Gustave XIII game on Squaresoft's Web site.

It may be kind of slow and pixellated, and the load times might make grown men cry, but it's damn well good enough for me until PS2.

Saturn was a very popular platform in Japan, even though the it could barely render polgons... In Japan they care about software, not the hardware specs. People would have bought half a million playstation 2s if they just added more Ram to it. In US, it is completely different. Technology rules here. And so does the Bandwagon. Whatever is "In" is!

Quite frankly, I must agree with 10K. Great gaming sytems are made by the games released for them, not harware specs. I mean, look how far Game Boy went with the success of just two (well now 5) little carts chock full of monsters. And that's why I will probably support DC even after PS2 is out. There is no great game for PS2 that sticks out in my mind above what DC has to offer.

And quite frankly, it all makes me sick. I wish that the damn developers would just join together and create one gaming system. It would have the best games ever, and my dream idea of calling Pokemon's moves via the VMU would finally come true. But instead, Sony, Nintendo and Sega will continue to wage war for dominance of the gaming industry and force us to buy from all of them. Kinda sounds like they already joined together...

Yeah I agree with Snorlax. I'm dying to move to Japan just so I can play all of those games with incredible stories that never make it here because of graphics. I am one of the few people I know who still play games with grains. I play Front Mission 3, and I love it. It is grainy as hell, though. Everyone else, not to mention any names Star Caliber, hates it. I think we need to look beyond how pleasing a game is to the eye and the fun factor you get from it. Does it really matter that much to you all that Smash Bros. graphics are 2&1/2-D, and all they are are small little sprites? You don't really take into account how technologically behind Smash Bros. is because it's FUN. Although Stadium was crappy, it goes way beyond the graphics.

Stadium was not crappy TeeJay, and Smash Bros. was full of polygons, not sprites. But I guess all that Front Mission 3 playing can go to your head after awhile. Shame.

What I would of liked is if you could actully move your pokemon. Like every attack had a range, and you could just try to avoid it. It should be hard to avoid the attacks, thou, or the battles would last for hours.

Sorry CyberHaunter, but I must disagree. That'd be way gay if you could just get out of the way of attacks because it eliminates the strategic element of Pokemon itself. If you want an action game, play Unreal Tournament or Super Smash Bros. Not Pokemon.

In reply to Dolphin comments:

First of all, Dolphin is the project name. Nintendo will announce the real name before the launch.

And Dolphin WILL have internet capability, I believe some 3rd party company was actually working on some sort of multiplayer online RPG for the launch. As for DVDs, it uses them, but doesn't play movies... but because of this, you are saving 200$ (unlike the PS2, which doesn't even HAVE all the features of a normal DVD player anyway).

Also, keep in mind that when you say something about Dolphin, a lot of information still hasn't been released, and a lot is improving.

And on X-Box: I really don't think it will do well... think of it this way, no PC gamer will buy it since X-Box plays PC games... and PC gamers have their PCs! :P

And on Game Boy Advance: Heh, I know no one brought it up, but for those of you who wish Gameboy Color was a bit more... well, advanced, wait until GBA. This thing can play games with graphics as good as Yoshi's Story for N64!

Wheee I can't wait until E3 and SpaceWorld for all the new goodies on the next gen systems!!

I think what CyberHaunter means keeps the existing accuracy percentages in mind, meaning Disable would be a cinch to roll out of the way on, but things like, oh, Psychic, with 255/256, would give you about the same odds. Of course DT & Smokescreen, etc., would be factored in.

And what about that Pikachu VRS microphone add-on? Couldn't one use that to call out attacks? That'd be sweet, but it'd render yer Transfer Pak useless, with only ONE periphial (I know I spelled it wrong) at a time ::shakes head in disgust at Nintendo's failed attempts at a resonable controller::

I hate Playstation. It seems that their entire library is a jarbled mess, lacking entirely in any sort of juxtaposition. They can't even make a game by themselves. I can't really respect a company that relies on others. I still own a PSX, though.

If you wanna get into a war over who was first, why don't we bring the Atari into the disscussion? Atari, then Sega, and finally, The Big N. Nintendo copied Sega on the whole VidGame concept, and Sony is the biggest loser of them all.

I'd take a library of above-average games and several really good ones (N), over a vast amount of mediocre software (Playstation, Sega). I respect Sega's perserverance, tho.

I like Nintendo, and I'll stand behind 'em because I LIKE THE GAMES. Rareware kicks ass.

StarCaliber: That's exactly what I'm talking about. Saturn and the Genesis died long before the Nintendos and the PSX cause it had horrible third party support. I'd actually say the same thing about Nintendo nowadays, but they make great in-house games, so it kinda evens itself out. Sega on the other hand seems like its only capable of making good sports games.

Now the dreamcast has a chance of breaking the Sega curse because I read somewhere that they paired up with Microsoft to make the DC, thus making the programming of games a lot easier, therefore attracting third party developers. But I think that Sega is very handicapped by their bad rep. Most third party developers avoid Sega like the plague for some reason. I've had three different Sega Game consoles in the past (The Genesis, the Sega CD and the 32X) and I regretted buying each one. I'm willing to accept that the Dreamcast might change the way most people look at Sega, but I still won't buy one. Maybe if they come out with a good RPG, I'd be willing to reconsider.

But this whole argument is moot anyways cause it's all about opinion. You have your own opinion and I respect that, but I've got my own views as well, based on my past experience with Sega

Perfect Dark never crashed. The GB camera thing worked perfectly.

It was taken out of the final version.

The story went like this: Nintendo issued a press release that basically said:

"While the gameboy camera and transfer pak were more than adequate to import the data of a face to the N64, every time Perfect Dark tryed to load the face onto an image, it locked up".

Never mind that everyone at the last E3 had used the face mapping feature and then fought as themselves. Never mind that the final version of PD actually has some faces it got from the GB camera (even IGN editors). Never mind all of that, right? Right, Nintendo.

Why would such a feature be left out? Well, what kind of publicity would it be if it became known as a "shoot real people murder simulator"? After all, Videogames have an awful rep now, for no good reason.

Rare, after being called incompetent at Nintendo, issued their own press release, which basically said "We felt it wiser to take it out because we didn't want the release of such a good game marred by controversy". So they called Nintendo the lying fools they are to their face.

The other sytems are fine and all. I just like Nintendo games, mostly. Super Mario 3? Oh please yes... Zelda anything... sure... F-Zero? I thought everyone had forgotten...

It's just like having a favorite author or screenwrite, after all.

Sometimes playstation games make up for their grainyness for good games. Not many of psx games do this. All re games, metal gear solid, and umjammer lammy are the games that i can think of right now that are great. The rest are pretty much horsesh!t. Sorry ff fans and teejay.

Yeah, I hafta wholeheartedly agree with what Biffster says about PS games. Although, I do enjoy Tony Hawk, Quake II with a multitap (although crap compared to Unreal Tournament, my PC fave), Crash Team Racing with a multitap, and my favorite basketball game of all time: March Madness 2000. And I still play my PS every now and then simply because I'd feel like I was dumb if I didn't play the best selling system around. But it is by no means the best playing system. And the games are NOT better than most DC and N64 games. It boggles the mind that developers continue to support Sony's box of ass instead of N64 and DC more. I suppose it is because of sales, but I wish that they would make more quality games for Dreamcast to help it along on the market.

And regarding Dolphin, it's not that I am opposed to the system in any way, but it is most annoying that Nintendo continues to only issue specs on the thing. They need to get some games announced. I do acknowledge
that I had forgotten about the plans for internet support for Dolphin, but like someone else has already said, we should probably quit bitching about it now and just wait for more info on it. Cuz this could all be in vain if Nintendo changes their minds.

Another reason that I support DC right now so heavily is the internet support. I know that 56K plays games fairly crappily on the net, but there is no way that my family is just going to switch over to DSL or Cable Modem simply because the PS2 uses it. And if I know my math, then 56K > nothing.

And about Perfect Dark, I have some real mixed feelings. I hate to make so many references to U.T. on computer, but I have a hard time seeing how the humble little N64 who has only had a couple good shooting games is going to snatch the title so easily from the excellent PC shooters. I must say that I kind of respect Rare's decision to eliminate the Perfect Head (and yeah, I knew that it was cuz of the moralilty...not crashing) because that would suck for everyone - no matter how cool an idea it was - for Nintendo to get any bad rap because of psychos that will be dumb with the feature.

Speaking of Rare, what is the deal about them anyway? Why does everyone say that they are so good? Jet Force Gemini has crappy multiplayer, and only a so-so single player experience, DK64 wasn't that good (and there was no way I was gonna buy another Expansion Pak just to play a dumb monkey game), Banjo-Kazooie was cool, but where's the multiplayer? And lastly, Goldeneye rocked, but it was by no means the be all end all of shooting games. There's better stuff around (now especially) and that's why I worry about Perfect Dark. It seems like Rare's just trying to capitalize on old success. But that's just what I think.

This topic has turned into a riot. Here's my opinion:
First of all I'd like to say that PC beats all of the console systems and will until the world ends. Ever play the Quake series before? I was addicted to quakeII until my eyes burned. I played on the internet for hours on end until it was 3 in the morning and my face and eyes were red and tired. I can't wait until I get DSL and a new computer to rock on with QIII. And think about it. The consoles are turning into PCs with DVDs and internet capability. In about 10-20 years everything will be like virtual reality. As far as the consoles go...I have almost every nintendo system created. My brother got nintendo when I was just a little kid. (I'm 13 now) Ever since then I have gotten SNES, N64, and GBColor. I have Game Gear but I didn't like it much and only have a couple games. I have trusted Nintendo to bring out the good quality games and they havn't disappointed me much. I love the Donkey Kong series (Although I hate DK64), the F-Zero series (which is very original and a fast paced fun game to play), and the Zelda series. I only have about 6 N64 game mainly b/c there arn't many, most of them are kidddy, and I don't have a lot of money to spend on video games. I'd rather get 5 good quality popular games then a bunch of **** that you get from playstation. Look at the playstation games. Crash Bandicoot 3, Frogger 2, Tekken 3, Parappa Rapper 2, Final Fantasy 8. Some of those are good games but my point is that playstation puts sequels on games that are sucessful. Nintendo does this...but only to a certain point. Playstation just sees a game is doing good and adds some new features and calls it a sequel. Nintendo produces good quality top name games. But remember....This is just MY OWN OPINION!

I was thinking exactly this just the other day. Console games are old hat.

The only things they have to offer over the PC are better input devices (which does not need to be the case, really) and the use of a television instead of a monitor for multiplayer games. I can't imagine us all crouched around a 15" monitor playing Super Monkey Party (perhaps the most brilliant concept in gaming in ages!). Usually the teevee limits resolution, but in this case it is a plus.

Finally, portable systems have an obvious advantage over PCs...at least for now.

But in the typical case, I think a PC is much better platform for a single player (or networked multi-player) game.

Aaaahhhhhhhh!!! Oh god, ...hold on, I need to catch my breath... .... ... okay....

StarCalibur: JFG only had a so-so single player?! This is the best epic game I think I have ever played. I enjoyed this one for hours and hours on end, and played through it all over again right after beating... I know people have varying opinions, but I never got why the world doesn't love JFG as much as I do.

Also on Perfect Dark, let us wait this last MONTH and see how it is. A lot of people are going around saying it will suck, some think it will be okay, others think it will be the FPS to end all FPS, OY there are so many arguments! Personally I am hyping it up A LOT, but there is only a month until we find out for yourselves! We can all argue over how good it is when we get our hands on it, alrighty?

Mr. K: You can't imagine a group of friends playing a multiplayer game around a tv? Your really missing out. Smack talk, laughter galore, it is excellent. Games like Smash Brothers and Mario Party get you jumping out of your chair yelling at your friends in glee.

Oh no, you missed my point. There's nothing quite like a nice evening of Super Monkey Party...but we play with a great big teevee, not around a tiny little computer monitor.

Well I can settle for my Atari and 8-Bit NES while people waste their money on Dreamcasts. (I don't hate Sega, It's just that most of their games blow! How many times can Sonic bonk the bag guy on the head?) The console will be dead once the PS2 comes overseas. (Oh my god, you have a DC? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! That's like bragging about your brand new Atari Jaguar!) Graphics don't really make games (Look at Donkey Kong 64, ::shudder: . Especially pokémon for gameboy. I just can't wait for a Pokémon RPG for the Dolphin.

As far as Rareware is concerned, they are one of the best game makers out there.
I will watch you eat you words on May 23rd, when Perfect Dark comes out.

Anyway, yeah, Stadium could've been much better.
I get sick of the same animations for ten different moves. It's monotonous. Some of them are lazily done, too, like wrap. Come on now, Nintendo
They knew it would sell, so didn't put much into it.
(I do have one confession to make, I put Metronome on a Mewtwo of mine just in hope he will use string shot, he looks like Spider-Man)

I hate to say it, but Perfect Dark isn't the only killer FPS in the horizon. Have any of you seen/heard of TWINE, coming out 4th quarter 2000? I strongly feel it'll surpass PD on just about every front. The engine is WAAYYYYY better than the GE & updated PD one, and even in the heat of battle, framerate stays steady. Perfect Dark's just gonna feed our anticipation for this kickass Bond sequel by Eurocom....

Whoa Slick, you had me a little confused there for a minute. I now realize (or at least I think) that by TWINE, you mean The World is Not Enough. And about that game, I don't really know. Usually games that come to multiple consoles end up sucking bad. And TWINE (as you call it) is coming to three (PS, PS2, N64) that I know of so far. If it's more than that, it probably isn't helping it too much.

And I personally do not believe that Perfect Dark is going to be all that great. I mean, yeah it'll be cool, but there are so many other FPS's out right now that it is gonna have some TOUGH competition. And granted, it does use the expansion pak, but considering some of the PC FPS's, it could easily look ugly by comparison.

And to whoever it is that keeps supporting Jet Force Gemini: I must agree with TeeJay unfortunately. That game is so crappy. I bought it, hyped it too much, loved it for awhile, but now it just sucks. The multiplayer (which in the end is any good game's saving grace) was horsesh*t. It is hard to hit people, you can't tell where people are, there is no team option, the weapons blow, etc. And the 2P co-op mode was a nice idea, but I would have gone for something more like the split-screen co-op found in good games. It is way too hard to find someone to be Floyd whenever I wanna play JFG, so it's like the option is non-existent (and playing 2-handed doesn't work well either ). And the 1P game, while cool and has great cinema scenes, just doesn't measure up with other 1P adventure games. And I don't know what the hell Rare was thinking (wait, yeah I do, they wanted to cash in) when they designed it so you hafta go back through all the old levels and hunt down hidden bears. That was so gay. And the Floyd missions? Don't even get me started on that crap.

Anyway though, maybe we should all stop talking about what we think because we're just gonna piss each other off. I mean, look at me. I was gonna just post a nice little message, but instead, it turned into an astronomical Jet Force Gemini bitching session. Sorry about that.

IMO, JFG does some things that other games just don't. Some of the worlds are huge, and some of the boss fights are very intense. Sure, there is some of Rare being gay (find the X pad to use the X item is a big theme in Rare games, and it smacks of lazy design, though not necessarily poor design- Mario didn't need a special launch pad in Mario 3, just a racoon tale and a few continuous blocks...)

The alien levels that stretch on forever are nice. I just wish there was more there.

Multiplayer isn't as good as it could be by a long shot.

If you are big on TWINE, you probably read the IGN editors jizzing all over it. Problem is, they are playing a "pre-alpha". What does that mean to you? I hear "development hardware", translated as "the version they saw had no framerate hitches because it was running on the SGI workstation that they are programming it on".

Now, I'm not CERTAIN of this, but the newbie IGN editors are likely to make mistakes and freak out a bit... (they seemed to lose the quality editors whenever the console in question drops in popularity) so they could easily forget to ask whether it was running on the N64 yet or not.

I'll bet it wasn't. It isn't like Rare and Nintendo has a bunch of monkeys coding their graphics (they handle game balance). If PD could be done in perfect motion with those graphics on our now antiquated "Fun machines" (I wondered about that moniker until the Rumble pak shipped- then it all clicked into place), I'm sure Rare wouldn't have overlooked it.

Note that I am not speaking with authority here, but doesn't it sort of make since that some random third party that we've never seen do anything mindblowing wouldn't have a pre-alpha that knocks out the top 1st and 2nd party stuff, and maybe the IGN boys are a bit enthused because they really like Bond?

Just opinions, not facts...

AAHHHH!!! Oh man... ack...

I don't know what is wrong with you people!

Where to start... okay...

The main reason I love JFG, is it immersed me in an awesome sci-fi adventure. I really don't want to get into why I love the game so much, as I have discussed it literally hundreds of times... check out my review in the Cellar at www.nintendorks.com. I gave the game a 97%.

And about going back to find the Tribals... COME ON! It enhanced replay value. They could have had it just be mindless shooting and moving forward in the level, but they went further and added a collection aspect. Also, you didn't even HAVE to collect them AT ALL if you didn't want to. Collecting all of them just allowed you access to the last level, last boss, and ending cinema (which was hilarious, btw). If you hated the game so much, it shouldn't have mattered by that point anyway.
And personally, I am glad they had it. The more I more hours I was able to get into the game before beating it, the happier I was.

And on the Floyd missions... it sounds to me like someone couldn't beat them, so he just got frustrated! Seriously. If you think that they suck just because they are challenging, that really isn't a fair accusation...

And lastly, Rare is the wrong company to accuse of putting games out just to get $$$. Remember when they delayed PD past x-mas? They woulda made much more money releasing it in the holiday shopping season, and they KNEW this, but they wanted to make a better game.

Mr. Cheez, you are full of crap. They had no problem making tons of money over the holiday season with Donkey Gay 64. That sold like hell, and it DOES suck bad. I wouldn't be surprised if I found out that the only reason PD got pushed back was just to spread out all the money Rare makes, because if PD came out at Xmas, then it only would have done that rightful thing, and screwed over Donkey Gay sales.

But about Jet Force, yeah I know that I'm a little hard on it, and to its credit, it was a very dazzling single player game. But, I don't BUY single player games. That is just plain stupid. You can rent them, beat them, and save $45. I bought JFG cuz I thought that the multiplayer looked cool, and on that gay video that Rare sent, it showed 2P vertical split screen when the guy was talking about a 2P co-op mode (upon closer inspection, that was just a gay 1 on 1 deathmatch). And the bear collecting? That was GAY. I'm sorry, but it was SO GAY. There is no way that you should have had to convince yourself that you are getting replay value by collecting egly Ewoks. I mean, the shooting aspects were pretty good, but Rare could have added some more weapons for the multiplayer mode, sped up the framerate, and not using Expansion Pak just makes me mad...

The game's not bad, but it won't be remembered that well by a lot of people.

And I must strongly agree with cfalcon (who has to be one of the best informed people on this whole site) about Perfect Dark vs. The World is Not Enough. Rare will always be the king of FPS on N64 (but the Turok games are pretty good), and no crap company is just gonna steal that from them overnight, Bond license or no. About PD, I have mixed feelings. I guess we'll all have to wait until it comes out to make further judgements. It doesn't matter anyway, the only N64 games I play are Pokemon Stadium, Super Smash Bros., and the occaisonal round of Turok: Rage Wars (when we aren't partying at my house on my sweet LAN setup with Quake III and Unreal Tournament). Sorry, but I'm just more into multiplayer gaming than the 1P crap, cuz my attitude is that if you can't prove yourself to someone else, what's the point of playing video games?

Firstly, I myself was very dissapointed with DK64 too, so we agree on one point. I still don't think Rareware or Nintendo are in the game making business for the money.

Also, I wasn't that much a fan of JFG's multiplayer either. I got a couple hours of fun out of it, but it could have been a whole whole lot better. Still though, I had such a time with the single player adventure, that I can overlook that and realize how good of a game JFG is.

Also, the developers would have had to delay the game again to make use of the expansion pak.

DK64 was not a crappy game. It probably just didn't have what you were looking for. It had beautiful graphics and great mini-games (though I will never forgive Rare for Beaver Bother). This was enough to have me plastered to the couch for two straight weeks (just ask cfalcon's roommate). So maybe banana collecting isn't for you. Or maybe you just never looked up the Banana Fairy's skirt.

But weren't we supposed to be bashing stadium? The worst part is the lack of physical contact in physical moves. When I tell my Pinsir to Body Slam, I want to actually see him slam the opponent. But maybe this type of action would have kept the game from having an E rating. It would have also been cool to see myself and the other trainers on the sideline.... They could cut to a shot of my opponent if he hasn't chosen a move yet, for example. We could also see Lance and Beauty in all their 3-D glory. Aahh, if I could date any of the Pokemon trainers... it would defintely be Lance... <sigh>. Guys that wear capes are sexy.

Oh, and one last thing. There are PLENTY of sprites in Super Smash Bros.

Uh PK, you better be a girl or you are very gay...

And yeah Smash has some sprites but it is largely dominated by polygons (just look at the characters). The gay Pokemon that pop out in Saffron City may be ugly sprites, but I don't even care. The game looks good, the textures are nice, the frame rate swims along, and that game is so fun that at times it can even challenge Pokemon or Dead or Alive 2 as one of the best games ever. So don't you be dissin' up Smash Bros. unless you don't have any friends to play it with. Then you can go be gay with Zelda, Lupus, Gay Beaver Bother Game and company.
