When Pokemon Red/Blue first came out there was a big tourney in Menlo Mall, NJ. I made it through to the finals. I was 15 at the time and the guy I was facing was 18. He was the evil empire because he brought SIX Mewtwos into the tourney. (This was all happening before they ruled that a trainer may not have more than one same-species of pokemon on a team.) This was a Dark time for Pokemon tournaments. The guys SIX Mewtwos had very similar moves: Recover, Psychic, Metronome. Each one however had unique moves as well: Blizzard, Fire Blast, Hyper Beam, Thunder, Solar Beam, Counter. I thought I was in trouble with my team of:

Snorlax: Rest, Amnesia, Double Team, Ice Beam

Wigglytuff: Sing, Rest, Double Team, Body Slam

Tangela: Toxic, Double Team, Bind, Mega Drain

Jolteon: Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, Pin Missile, Rest

Starmie: Recover, Minimize, Light Screen, Blizzard

Exeggutor: Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, Double-Edge, Mega Drain

I ruined the poor guys day. The Mewtwos were all knocked out cold. I never saw a guy that age cry that was'nt kicked in the nether regions. All of the spectators jaws were on the floor. The victory felt like when the REBELION blew up the second DEATH STAR (compliments of Lando Calrisean). It is quite unbeleivable to me too, but it did prove that strategy is far better than massive amounts of power and no brains. Plus I think the guy used Rare Candies on the Mewtwos insted of leveling them up or using the BOX TRICK at least. Thanx for reading. Have a good day.

Best thing is, most azures will tell their children stories like this when they are 70+ years old.
