Battle 6, Challenge Cup, Ultra Ball, Round 2.
The opponent has a Seadra and a Quagsire, both with full HP, and I have a Mantine and a paralysed Raichu with 6 HP. My Raichu is about to be KO'd by his Quagsire.
I figure that it doesn't really matter what move I choose, but I picked Attract just in case. So what does the COM do? Switches to his same-gender Seadra, of course!
OK, fair enough, the COM cheats, we all know that. May as well Thunderbolt and pray that I manage to get in the attack somehow. "Switching pokémon, that pokémon must not have been the right choice!" Out pops Quagsire.
Hmm, it read my mind again. Attract.
"Go, Seadra!" Thunderbolt.
"Quagsire!"
At this point I still thought the computer was reading my move and acting accordingly, and it went on for a few more rounds just to be sure... ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
Finally, I decided to see what would happen if I anticipated the switch to Seadra, so I Thunderbolted.
My paralysed, 6 HP Raichu which could have been wiped out by him several rounds ago OHKOs his damn Seadra!
Of course, he killed it finally the move after that, but it was too late. Repeatedly Wing Attacking with Mantine, I win. Weird.
