Would the standards that dominate teams in Oddish Mem work in real life? Or is there no life beyond gsbot? After all, GSBot or no, Snorlax still gets STAB on Double-Edge, still has a high attack rating, and is still a tank. Machamp kicks the crap out of Tyranitars. No one prepares for Perish Trappers in real life. However, breeding easily fixes this problem, but there is a difference between having a 15 HP dv and having an 4, 8, etc. I think that the DVs lead to a lot of Psuedo-hazers you wouldn't normally see.
