So I finally convinced my girlfriend to battle pokemon. She has played her Crystal cart for 57 hours, but hasn't ever wanted to battle against another trainer. She doesn't know a whole lot about type advantages, so battling is pretty tough for her to grasp (at this point).

We battled 3 times.

First match: First match was her higher level pokemon against mine (15 levels below hers on average). Her leftovers-toting Snorlax (named "Reid" of all things [Cool]

) proceeded to beat the shit out of my my team (well it would have but she was nice and switched him out). I then took out 2/6 of her pokemon before she finished off the last of my pokemon ( a level 34 clefairy with metronome, dizzy punch, encore and body slam). So Squeeeezie wins the first match by a huge margin and is eager to battle some more.

Second match: Squeeeezie wanted me to pick 1 level 100 pokemon + 3 others to battle her entire team. I didn't want it to be 15 second match, so I chose as my level 100 pokemon:

Shuckle- w/leftovers
Wrap
Toxic
Sandstorm
Rest

Needless to say a long and boring battle ensued. I finally realized how boring it was, and switched Corsola in for Shuckle. Corsola Proceeded to Defense Curl up, and Rollout over most of her team (which was also pretty boring). She refused to use Endure + Reversal on her Heracross, or Psyche up on her Miltank, even though I told her she could beat the shit out of Corsola if she did(I think she was thinking I was trying to fool her). We gave up after 20 minutes after shuckle was only able to take out two of her pokemon, and Corsola was on it's way to taking out the rest...

Battle 3: Since all of her pokes were level 40-55, and my mine are level 32-40, I gave her six of my level 100 pokemon, which were cloned from my level 100's of the same species with different movesets. Squeeeezie and I now had pokemon of the same level to battle with. Squeeeezie's team of level 100 pokemon:

Lapras- w/leftovers

The match starts and I lead with Flareon (much to her delight, as she wants a Flareon very badly), and she sends out Kangaskhan.

Before the next turn Squeeeezie asks "what type of pokemon is Kangaskhan? I tell her and she thinks for a bit and says "ohhh... HA! HA!!! I know what to do!"

On the next turn she pulls Kangaskhan out and sends in Vaporeon. My Flareon's Zap Cannon unfortunately misses against it (how could that happen? [Wink]

). and now two Eeveelutions are staring down eachother... but who should emerge the victor? The offensive flareon toting Zap Cannon, or the Defensive Surfing Vaporeon? [Eek!]

Vaporeon strikes first and hard-- surfing Flareon down to 25% health. My Flareon answers with a Super-effective Zap-Cannon of his own, dropping Vap to around 55% health.

Next turn I Flamethrower an incoming Kangaskhan, bringing it down to 80% health. Khangaskhan Scores a CH Body Slam on the next turn for the first Kill

Squeeeezie 1-0

I send in Aerodactyl.

Aero Goes for the Burn with Fireblast, hits but doesn't burn, bringing Khanga down to about 45%. Kanga answers with a surprisingly damaging Body slam, dropping Aero to 80% health.

I fireblast again, hit, but again, no Burn. Kangaskhan Body Slams again.

I fireblast again, hit, no Burn.
Kangaskhan body Slams again.

I fireblast once more and miss *damn*
Kangaskhan CHs with body slam for the Kill (Smart equippage of the Scope Lens)

Melissa 2-0

I send in Delibird against the less than 20% health Kangaskhan.

Squeeeezie asks "what kind of Pokemon is that?" I say "A shitty one... Oh, flying and ice."

Kanga uses ShadowBall and Delibird uses Icy wind, hampering Kanga's speed with a frosty gust of Northern Wind *Brrrrr*

Delibird Ice Beams for the Kill as Kanga kicks the bucket.

Tied 2-1

Melissa sends out Vaporeon.

Vap Surfs, as Delibird snatches it's leftovers. he he...

Melissa says "Hey what was that?!!" I say "He just stole your shii-ot, bii-ot(ch)." She felt better once I assured her that she'd get her leftovers back after the match.

Vap Finished off Delibrid with an Ice Beam.

Squeeeezie 3-1

Reid sends out his "little trooper"--> Farfetch'd!

Vaporeon uses Surf, Farfetch'd uses Sword's Dance.

Farfetch'd endure's Surf from Vaporeon, taking him down to 1 hp.

( [Eek!]

luckily for me [Eek!]

) Vaporeon Switches out for Miltank, Farfetch'd uses Flail and takes out Miltank.

Melissa 3-2

Melissa sends out Heracross.

Heracross charges Farfetch'd's crotch with "MegaHorny." But it misses!! Farfetch'd destroys Heracross with flail.

Tied 3-3

Melissa sends out Vaporeon. Reid Takes out Farfetch'd (hoping he'll come in useful at the end of the match) and sends out Girafarig. Melissa spends the turn using Acid Armor.

Girafarig uses Thunder!! Vaporeon taken down to about 20% health, Vaporeon Ice Beams, Girafarig is at 80%.

Melissa Switches in Slowking. Girafarig uses Thunder!! Slowking is at 60%.

Girafarig uses Thunder!! SlowKing gets Paralyzed, and is at 20% health. Slowking uses psychic, and does a ton of damage with it, taking Girafarig to just under 50%.

Melissa switches to Lapras. Girafarig uses Thunder!! takes Lapras to 60%, after it heals with leftovers.

Girafarig uses thunder!! Lapras at 30%. Lapras surfs and is right about to finish off that pesky Girafarig.

not wanting to miss with Thunder, Reid uses Iron tail (even though it's pretty inaccurate too), hoping to lower Lapras's defense! The move does about 1% damage, and Lapras's defense remains un-lowered. Lapras kills girafarig with Surf. doh!

Melissa 4-3

Reid sends out Yanma and is looking to swagger Lapras silly....

Yanma uses swagger! It misses!! (pay back for all of thunders hitting & paralzying).
Lapras uses Horn Drill & Yanma gets a new ass-hole horn-drilled into it! Reid's team is borked!

Melissa 5-3

Reid Sends in Farfetch'd! Lapras washes it's dead body ashore using Surf! Reid got pwnd roxorz style by his g/f!!!

Final: Melissa 6-3

In conclusion, Girafarig is a bad mo-fo even though his scary looking tail doesn't pull it's weight come battle time,( i.e. Iron tail not doing "diddly"), Lapras is also a badass when armed with Leftovers; Zap Cannon on Flareon is a pretty good idea (in this case, at least); Farfetch'd needs luck in order to be successful in tandem w/flail; battling with creative, yard-ball sets and pokemon is fun and exciting!!!!

Now I've decided to make Melissa a team more atune to her mode of battling (which is Attack attack attack) for her to use in future battles. So I designed a team of pokemon with nothing but attacks (one or two exceptions). Since I am a more defensive player than she is, I hope it will motivate her to battle more often if she has a team she likes. It will be as follows (please make suggestions):

Flareon-Fire Blast, Shadow Ball, Zap Cannon, Return
Machamp- Cross Chop, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Shadow Ball
Alakazam- Psychic, Future Sight, recover, Ice punch
Kingler-Guilliotine, Hyper Beam, Body Slam, Hydro pump
UrsaRing- Hyper Beam, Return, Slash Earthquake
Raichu-Thunder, Surf, Rain Dance, Dynamic Punch

Damn,.. this was a long war story, sorry. I need to do homework now.
