Let's just say that GameWorld is an expo, which concentrates on gaming. We arranged a quick battle for it (As we only had 20 minutes of time
), and only 4 people were allowed to participate.
And so we announce: "The first 4 people ON THE STAGE get to participate!"
One of my friends was going to participate there, so I had said that he should take a position where he could easily reach the stage from. The problem is that there was a fence in front of the stage. So he has a little problem. Which is no problem for him after all: as we announce "The first 4 people on the stag..." and he quickly jumps/climbs over the fence and to the stage
We were going to have 5 min matches and 10 seconds to choose the move, and I changed the settings like that (Normally 15 min matches and 30 seconds for choosing the moves) before we began.
What's not so cool, when we reseted the machines, the settings also resetted (Event Battle settings aren't saved? That was new for me
)!
And we have under 20 minutes of time.
Well, the other match is over quickly. But this my friend vs. a guy who I now know from the tour... My friend has a Chansey with Minimize. This guy has a DT-Snorlax. IT'S NOT OVER VERY QUICKLY.
So Tony gets an idea, and chooses the winner, basing the decision on the HP that the pokémon have left. Percentually speaking, the Snorlax guy would have won. But Chansey has more of actual HP! And Tony decides that the Chansey guy (Antti, my friend) wins. Ehh... Well, we need decisions :P And as you see, using Chansey brings luck. Like, winning when you should have lost :P
Anyway, Antti goes to the GameWorld 2001 final match and sweeps the other finalist (Who was a girl, BTW) with Chansey and a Psychic from his Shazam(F).
This was the last regional competition... Which means that we now have 10 participants for the finals, and 6 of them I know from the Internet, and who are almost regulars at my Pokémon-page's forum.
Stay tuned for the last report of The Finnish Championships, the finals, which are held this Friday.
Until then... w00t.

Me: "...I've also spoken with Ian Garvey via IRC..."
Tyranitar: "Wow! You mean you have spoken with The Master?"
