Possibly along with prizes, like mountains of cards, GB Colors, copies of Gold etc that were given to the winners of each tournament, they could get a bunch of rare pokemon like the legendary Dog/Cats, legendary Birds, Mew, Mewtwo, Selebi, Kingdra, Steelix etc, and all of the pokemon that were given out to the losers. All at Lv. 5, too (That would actually give people a way of acessing the moves legendary pokemon learn at lower levels, like Moltres learning Flamethrower on Lv 49 and Articuno learning Snow Powder, etc).

All the pokemon would be given out using those machines that they used to dispense Mews at the last tour.

Pokemon Prizes! Think about it!

That'll make the 2/3 of you that do shark (and no offence to you meant in any way, shape or form whatsoabsofreakingever) happy and placid.

There should be the normal free stuff given out at the entrance. Stickers, tournament rules, appointment slips, etc. Celebi should also be given out. They can use the Mew machines for that.

Tournaments should be conducted in a similar form as they were at previous tours. 3 on 3, Poké, Pika, and Prime Cup, etc. They could have two tables. One for RBY players, the other for GS players. However, the elimination format should change. They should let the tournament run until there is one champion for each game(RBY and GS), and let them go on to battle a Master Trainer. I think it works a lot better than just drawing a name. Prizes for this tournament include original game badges for the RBY players, and new GS badges for the GS players.

The Master Trainer battles will be conducted on the Wide Boy using RBY game paks for the RBY players, and GS game paks for the GS players. If the person beats the Master Trainer, they get a hat, a t-shirt, and maybe something else. After all, those Master Trainers ARE pretty confident. I know I was during the Stadium Tour.

After beating a Master Trainer, your name gets put on file. On the last day of the tour, every person who beat a Master Trainer gets entered in a final competition similar to the normal tournament. The name of the winner of that tournament becomes that tour stop champion and gets put on file, and will be notified by Nintendo when a new National Championship is to take place. The champion of each tour stop will then fly to Nintendo and compete.

So, what do you think? Will it work? Or am I dreaming?

I think there's lots of great ideas here, but they all need to be tempered by a few things: an even temperment and an articulate nature. If we flood Nintendo with reasonably well-written emails telling about all the great things we've heard about their tournaments (must... keep... straight... face), how much we want to participate, and what would be great ideas for a new tournament, we might just make something good happen ("You may say that I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one." - John Lennon). On the other hand, if we flood Nintendo with emails that simply state u suck nickwhiz iz godd when'z the next tourney doodz? - that s*** will go over like a fart in church.

All we have to do is the following:
+ Cite a few things we liked from any prior tournaments we've been to (or we've heard about).
+ Say how much we'd love to see another tournament in the next year.
+ Admit that money and budgets are important, but you think the tournament would be even better if Nintendo simply did the following...

After reading Mr. K's war stories, I'd like to go to a tournament to write one of my own - with some good experiences. Maybe a letter/email campaign might help get the ball rolling on a new tourney.

Eh. Not really. In addition to attending law school full-time, I'm working at a law firm about 15 hours a week. I don't have that much time to post.

Also, I prefer to post in threads that interest or amuse me, or where I have something worthwhile to contribute. As far as contributing towards the game, I've only been playing Stadium regularly since about July or August. I didn't buy any of the GameBoy games until July 4. So I'm a bit behind the learning curve with B/Y/R. :-) With regards to posting in threads that interest or amuse me - I mean no offense to the other board members, but while I like to lurk and learn about the game, I don't feel the need to read a lot of the threads in here or to post in many of them.

We need action! Lot's of people (probably just me) have no fucking clue where to E-mail. Measure once, cut twice-That's what I say. We have enough Idea's, now lets get to work (while i sit here and wait for someone to post the address)!!!!!

I think the prize should be a max stats Pokemon of your choice. That was one of the things I imagined might happen before I went to the first mall tourney.

I imagined receiving a max stats Koffing for my efforts...man, that would be sweet.
