Well, here it is... I was looking over some of the old NPs and I found a small article on Spaceworld, and the Japanese Regonal Finals!
All I have to say is... The Japanese use strange, and not very good Pokemon. Here is basically what it said...

12 Regonal Champions Battled it out(Why not a number to make it even.. like 16)
The favorite Pokemon used were- Persian, Clefable, Electabuzz.
The finals were:
Persian, Charizard, and Nidoking
Def.
Persian, Electabuzz, and Victreebel
Just a side note... Some one used a Surfing Raichu :-)

I am guessing Mewtwo was not allowed... But there were no Psycics... Maybe the Jap. are nicer, and like to let other types/pokemon fight? In the finals, those pokemon are not really commonly used... Charizard, Nidoking and Victreebel are the most frequent ones.. Electabuzz is well not good... And Persian is okay, I guess...

Just a little thing I thought some of you might enjoy... At least Jap. has some organisation, and actually has more than 4 regions!! Whoo!

i personally don't like most jap cars, and those pokes looked pretty bad for the regional winners or whatever.

That's a pretty good question, and I'll bet they haven't thought about it at all. Remember, it's not just the Japanese version, the English and Australian versions are incompatible with the American version, as well.

Heh, this is Nintendo, while they can be haphazard, they DO probably have a way of getting over the compatibility issue...I mean, the tech exists, or is capable of being created, to do the version compatibility conversions...probably some markup of Stadium with some serious computing power...
