The saga continues...Match #3: First up is Dugtrio, who was fast, but no match for Wiggly's might. (And his Fissure failed, unlike last tourney!) Wiggly finished Dugtrio with a Hyper Beam and the little turds were history. Alakazam was next, and was quickly Body Slammed to death. Scrod was impressed with Wiggly, and even (for once) complimented him instead of calling him a fag. Wiggly was breathing hard when Mewtwo came out and only got in one shot, but he had performed admirably. In fact, he polished off Alakazam with so little trouble, I could barely remember who the second guy in the third match was a few days later. Snorlax was next vs. Mewtwo (obviously Lee had no chance). Mewtwo then went crazy with the critical hits and Snorlax didn't even have a chance to Rest. And Lee was dead in one Psychic. Wiggly was heartbroken. Again he had poured his guts into a battle and AGAIN he'd had victory stolen from him. At least I wasn't being humiliated. Everyone I fought was worried by the end of the match. And this was at least a clean loss. Scrod began making fun of me again and dangled his badge (made out of metal instead of cardboard this time) in my face. On to the Loser's Circle... Match #4: The beginning of this match was delayed while my opponent switched Pokemon (which you are not allowed to do) and added some TMs to his Pokemon (which you are REALLY not allowed to do). Scrod was watching what he was doing and kept arching his eyebrows, but it didn't really seem worth complaining. Finally the guy got his shit together. Man, I hate Zapdos. Maybe more than Mewtwo. Anyway, Zapdos was first, and frighteningly accurate with Thunder. After a couple turns, I gambled that a Wiggly Hyper Beam would finish off Zapdos...and it allllllmost did. Zapdos had a sliver of life left, tho, and finished off Wiggly while he recharged from the Hyper Beam. At this point, I really should have put in Lee. He might have taken a shot from the bird, and I had to know Mewtwo was coming, but I wasn't thinking clearly and didn't realize my error until Mewtwo came out. It might not have mattered, depending on the order of things, but it might have made all the difference. Anyway, Snorlax mopped up after Wiggly and then met another Snorlax. (I thought he might be getting popular, but most people were still surprised by mine, so maybe not.) The two fat boys beat the krap out of each other for a while and eventually mine was victorious. But he was hurt bad and Mewtwo took him out before he could sleep it off. Then Hitmonlee came out and was dead in one Psychic. (This was not shaping up to be his day.) Well, Hell. That sucked. I was now officially doing worse than last time. Scrod started mocking me again as I pouted. At least I didn't fight the kid next to me, who almost ended up being my only choice. He was a bitchy little thing, who flung his Gameboy on the table when he lost and just about started to cry. The guy he was playing was pretty nice and several times gave him tips during the match, but I think that only made him more upset. Angry little red-eyed thing...I couldn't possibly have felt good beating (or losing to!) him. We wandered around the mall for awhile, I registered again, then Scrod decided to split and quit while he was ahead. Plus he had to go to work. I went and got some lunch, which I didn't really enjoy. Tune in next issue to see just how many matches Mr. K can lose in a row! ------------------ KOFFING! Azure Heights Pokémon Laboratory

Because last time, nearly every person I fought (7 out of 8) led with Mewtwo, who Wiggly would take out. I wasn't expecting every single person I fought this time to have Mewtwo come out last. In the first tourney, my Lee took out all 3 opponents in one match (including a paralyzed Mewtwo!), so he's definitely not useless. And in Stadium (where the world isn't dominated by Psychics), he's one of my most useful Pokemon. Still, you do have a point. However, my other options are Koffing (also dead in one hit to Mewtwo), Butterfree (who, with Psychic and Mega Drain, can do nothing to M2) and Psyduck, who is unevolved. However, Psyduck can withstand one hit from M2, so he might be my best option in future tourneys. He was on my winning team when I got my first Boulder Badge and he did it by taking out a Mew. So maybe I should give him some more credit... ------------------ KOFFING! Azure Heights Pokémon Laboratory [This message has been edited by Mr. K (edited 05-17-2000).]
