"Pokemon battles should not be taken lightly"
Yes, it was an unfair match. Even though Pikachu is not at all that strong, he is quite popular. You always see Ash on TV beating everyone with his marvelous Pikachu, and Team Rocket always trying to capture it. Watching the show, you'd think Pikachu is one of the most powerful Pokémon there! In the movie, "Mewtwo strikes back", Pikachu was even the last one to be captured by Mewtwo. Just look at Golem, if you still have some mental footing in the real world, you'd think that nearly nothing could destroy a rock so fast. Even water alone, flowing fast through a river over a rock, takes a long time to wear the rock down even the slightest bit. In fact, the most effective way to destroy a rock is to first freeze it, then pour hot water on it. Nowhere in the game is it mentioned what the temp. of the water is, or anything else for that matter. Psychic abilities are not all that common either, although it would appear to be just the thing to destroy a giant living rock. Why would a person choose a Pikachu and a Golem as his strongest Pokémon? Perhaps one that is not into the game? Just the opposite, these people are the ones who have their mind totally devoted to the story line and the events of the game and the show. If you don't understand, just think if you were actualy living in the Pokémon world! You can't exactly see a statistics label patched to their backs. You just see the Pokémon itself and what it does. Of course their are pros and cons to this style of playing. You might have a lot more fun devoting your immagination to the game, although you would not do good in a major competition. Strategists are just the opposite, they look at the stats rather than the Pokémon itself and what it's doing. The ideal way to play would be to keep a strong awareness of both POVs, while at the same time keep your Pokémon healthy and your sanity intact. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
