I've really gotten bored with using the same old movesets, and I think some of these are worth a try.

Machamp @ mint berry
vital throw
rock slide
rest
curse

Yes, he's screwed against psychic. Does anyone know when vital throw and roar, both of which are "always go last" moves, are used which will go first? I think it's based on speed like it is when both use roar, in which case this screws over pseudo-hazers and counterers. Curse a couple times, rock slide destroys flyers, and vital throw's perfect accuracy makes it better than cross chop in that respect too. Psychics can be a problem, but that's why there are 5 other pokes on a team.

Dragonite @ leftovers/mint berry
Safeguard
Outrage
Wing attack/T-bolt/other special attack
Haze/rest

This would make a good utility pokemon with haze, or a good lead without. Safeguard + outrage means no confusion or other stat changers, haze because I think that's a much better stat counter for cursers than roar/whirlwind, simply because it doesn't always go last, and it works when they're down to the last poke too (I got swept 1-0 by a curselax as the only one left), and other attacks or mintyrest balance it out.

Gyarados @ pink bow
Icy wind
surf
endure
flail

With this set, it is not only powerful, but can deal with it's archenemy electrics too. IIRC, flail's base damage at 1 HP is 255, add pink bow and it's 280. Zapdos and raikou need to be slightly weakened before this can kill, but all other electrics are easy prey with this combo. You switch in against something weak to water, icy wind on the switch so you have the speed advantage, endure the oncoming T-bolt, then flail for the kill. If they have a lot of slow or PARd guys on their team, it's a potential sweep. This will be on my underused team.

Gengar @ leftovers/miracleberry
haze
counter
destiny bond
T-bolt/psychic/spite/giga grain

Hazer, killer of non-STABbed quake users, and suicidal killer. Haze is for haze, as it's easy enough to switch into a return or CC, counter stops earthquake. The last slot is pretty much whatever you want. Giga drain for rhydon/golem, T-bolt or psychic for more powerful attacks, or spite purely for utility, for things like encore, mean look, cross chop, curse, etc. Mostly just counter-defensive, and evil if used right. This will also be on my underused team.

If you have your own nonstandard movesets, post them here. And rating these wouldn't hurt either.

More later.

I've tried safeguard + outrage on stadium2 and it stops outrage confusion every time.

OMG NON-STANDARD M2 WTF *cough*

DonTwo:
~Thunder Wave
~Safeguard
~Future Sight
~Selfdestruct
@Miracleberry

Throw up a Thunder Wave to smart. If it hits a ground, well, sux2beu. Safeguard from there, then use Future Sight for some nice 406 Special Attack + STAB damage on everything (AFAIK, Future Sight ignores weakness and resistance). From there, detonate. Your next Pokemon will be protected from status for a few rounds, plus will have a little easier time killing things when FS connects.

DonFlareone:
~Double Team
~Rest
~Mimic
~Flamethrower
@Leftovers

*dodges Uiru flames* The DT + Rest is actually the centrepiece of the set, but it helps if Flareon has a couple of defensive boosts (like Vap's Acid Armor) passed in. Bring it out against a physical attacker, DT up, hope to HELL the attack misses, then Mimzorz. Flareon using CC or Earthquake is a joy to behold. [Big Grin]

DonGle:
~Spider Web
~Spore
~Super Fang
~Seismic Toss
@Leftovers

I believe I posted this for rating before, but it doesn't hurt to reiterate. Lock, snooze, Fang, Toss, gloat. Pass Foresight against a Ghost lead, and you might be able to sweep with this - though I've never seen a DonGle sweep and probably won't live that long.

Here's a couple more.

Smeargle @ miracleberry/focus band/mysteryberry
Spore
Thunder wave
Recover
Horn Drill

Yes, a status platform smeargle. Start paralyzing, spore their heal beller or machamp, whichever comes first, horn drill in hopes of killing a few before he dies, recover to make things easier. Miracleberry would be for other sleepers, focus band because we all know smeargle's survivability issues, or mysteryberry for horn drill in case it runs out (doubt he'll actually live that long, but...)

Vaporeon @ mint berry
Ice beam
DT
rest
baton pass

A DT-resting BPer. Fairly simple strategy, just DT up, rest if needed, then pass off. Ice beam was picked over surf since everyone uses Zapdos now, and for the slight chance to freeze.

Donald's sets:

M2: how much damage does a selfdestruct from a Mewtwo actually do anyway? I don't really like one-use-only utility pokes, but this could work. Also, I think I read somewhere that future sight doesn't get STAB. Can anyone prove or disprove this?

Flareon: Looks like fun. Try mint berry over leftovers though.

Smeargle: You might want to try nightmare and leech seed or recover over fang and toss. Nightmare would be because it can faint instead of just weaken, and leech seed for a little extra recovery. I think it needs recovery to stay alive for more than 1 poke.

Put Hydro Pump over Surf on Gyarados. When you have something that has as little staying power as Gyarados, you want to emphasize power. Hydro Pump makes + STAB makes up for Gyarados's low Special Attack.

These are a few of my original sets

Crobat@Leftovers
Substitute
Mimic
Confuse Ray
Return
- Starting Crobat. Follow the order of moves. Sets sub and then can Mimic any support move or anything useful. Confuse Ray to help it survive, and Return to attack:)

Blastoise@Mint Berry
Defense Curl
Rollout
Mirror Coat
Rest
- This is a fun little Blastoise:) Defense Curl to increase defense to encourage special attacks and to increase Rollout power. Rollout to attack nicely and Rest to heal after Mirror Coating.

Blastoise@Leftovers
Attract
Substitute
Fissure
Blizzard
- Attract if possible, then set the sub. Then you can hope for some Fissures and Blizzard flyers.

I don't know how original those sets are, but they're fun to use =\

Couple more from this end.

Donsparce:
~Glare
~Spite
~Rollout
~Rest
@Leftovers

Haha. PP wasting without DT/Curse/etc. = fun. Glare slows them down, plus lets you pick what move to Spite the PP of. Rollout is a potential 160 turns (but if it gets that high, your opponent has a SERIOUS problem), and Rest + Leftovers to heal. Works really well with HBer backup.

Donslash:
~Earthquake
~HP Bug
~Safeguard
~Rapid Spin
@Leftovers

Yes, I am aware that this Pokemon gets destoryed by most decent Flyers. But it's not supposed to be a sweeper - it's another one of my crazed lead-utility Pokemon. EQ is obvious, HP Bug to scare lead Umbreon (which are quite common these days), Safeguard for status protection, and Rapid Spin to throw Spike-users off. It originally had Rock Slide, but then it was only GSBot legal.

Crobat: Interesting. I've got my doubts about the attack power, but that's really not what it's for, is it? Could work, just watch out for electric starters.

Blastoise 1: Rollout gives them the opportunity to destroy you with a couple T-bolts. Ice beam and quake over defense curl and rollout, or try curse, mirror coat, earthquake/body slam/return, mintyrest.

Blastoise 2: Interesting, but use ice beam over blizzard since your other move is 30% accurate.

Dunsparce: fun, but maybe mint berry over leftovers as I don't think it will survive unprotected rest. Unless you're restbelling.

Sandslash: Not bad.

Here's another one of mine:

Dugtrio @ leftovers
sub
screech
Earthquake
Rock slide

Somebody rate some of mine plz.

No descriptions since there could end up being quite a few of these;

Umbreon - Mean Look, Toxic, Rest, Snore @Mint Berry :: Insomniax
Porygon2 - Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Conversion, Recover @?
Miltank - Heal Bell, Rest, Sleep Talk @Mysteryberry
Machamp - Cross Chop, Rest, Sleep Talk, Metronome @Leftovers/Blackbelt
Heracross - Megahorn, Rest, Sleep Talk @Silverpowder
Mew - Transform, Swagger, Whirlwind, Softboiled @?
Mr.Mime - Hypnosis, Curse, Baton Pass, Rest @Mint Berry
Cloyster - Spikes, Icy Wind, Explosion, Protect @Miracle Berry
Kangaskhan - Roar, Mimic, Icy Wind, Return @Miracle Berry
Exeggutor - Sleep Powder, Nightmare, Psychic, Synthesis @Leftovers
Gengar - Substitute, Spite, Rest, Thief @Mint Berry

So there's only 10. And some of them aren't particularly original in the movesets, but in the uses. But, I'm too lazy to write all that out again, or find a suitable old team to C+P from.

Doubtful it would survive long.
Porygon2 - Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Conversion, Recover @?
Great use of Conversion.
Miltank - Heal Bell, Rest, Sleep Talk @Mysteryberry
Will not work. Period.
Machamp - Cross Chop, Rest, Sleep Talk, Metronome @Leftovers/Blackbelt
Genius.
Heracross - Megahorn, Rest, Sleep Talk @Silverpowder
Please see above.
Mew - Transform, Swagger, Whirlwind, Softboiled @?
Hmm... Swagger, Transform, and Whirl away? See Machamp, and give it Mysteryberry.
Mr.Mime - Hypnosis, Curse, Baton Pass, Rest @Mint Berry
Good, but something else would probably work better for BPing Curse.
Cloyster - Spikes, Icy Wind, Explosion, Protect @Miracle Berry
Nice. But I never liked Protect, it seems a wasted slot.
Kangaskhan - Roar, Mimic, Icy Wind, Return @Miracle Berry
Original, but doesn't look like it'd work too well.
Exeggutor - Sleep Powder, Nightmare, Psychic, Synthesis @Leftovers
Spowder/HP Dark/Psychic/Giga Drain @ Lefties always works fine for me for taking out practically anything.
Gengar - Substitute, Spite, Rest, Thief @Mint Berry
This most definitely deserves extra points for Thief with an item held. I never liked PP Wasters much though, and the only thing really worth Spiting is Recover or Rest or Heal Bell or other recovery moves. Mean Look over something if you really want to screw over paratract tanks. Make female unless you feel you can survive while being attracted, in which case he'd work even better.

the only one i'm really proud of:

dugtrio (every man's dream) @leftovers
- substitute - rock slide - fissure - attract

i've posted her before, and she's a very fun starter to use. she's actually been called cheap. she typically takes out two pokéys before she bites the big one, which is very good for a starter, imho.

I've got some controversial sets..

Umbreon@Lefties
Curse
Rest
Bide
HP~Flying

Curse ups Def and Atk, so HP does at least some damage, hopefully to a Fighter. Bide takes advantage of Umby's tankiness and above-average HP. Rest is a duh, since Moonlight only has 8PP max, and status ailments are a problem.

Flareon@Polkadot Bow
Curse
Rest
Flamethrower
Quick Attack

Another Curser, but with another original set. Quick Attack may be on the weak side, but 40 base power is okay, and when fully Cursed, the firecat does major damage. Plus I get an advantage over fast pokes like Jolty.

Parasect@Lefties
Sunny Day
Spore
Swords Dance
HP~Rock

Sunny Day to draw out their Fire, Spore it, power up and get ready to Rock. Simple as that.

Quagsire@Mint Berry
Belly Drum
HP~Bug
Earthquake
Rest

This should be used in conjunction with a parashuffler, because Quaggy's too slow to get a hit in otherwise. BD on the switch to a Grass, then HP their switching ass into nowhereland. EQ for stab, and Rest is a duh.

Charizard@Lefties
Belly Drum
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Fly

Very experimental. Hopefully he'll live thru the first few hits, so the Lefties can recover the BD damage. Fly is the most powerful flying attack he gets. If there's an electric, they'll be taken out by EQ. Who uses Thunder anyway? This set has fooled many people.

- - - - -
1) Get hit by a car.
2) Sue.

You need to draw out their fire type? Replace Sunny Day with Substitute or something. Spore first, then Sub. If they switch first turn, they're sleeping. If they switch second or afterwards, they're Spored again thanx to Sub. Mind if I take this for a little test drive?
EDIT: I'm giving him HP Bug for the test because I know DVs for it and it gets STAB and I don't know DVs for Rock. Help, anyone? Actually, I could probably just go to Metalloid Research...

Test 1:
Switched out against Espy starter. Was Swaggered, then Psyched Up, but deconfused and Spored. SDed, Subbed, SDed again (did nothing w00t w00t), BOOM with HP Bug. Skarmory switched in, did abosulute nothing with HP Bug, Sub broke and Parasect took additional damage due to a glitch [Mad] [Mad] [Mad] He survived (barely), and I switched in Houndoom.
Test 2:
Same opponent, 13 12 DVs for HP Rock this time. Switched in vs. same opponent, Spored, Subbed, SDed, he switched in Zard. The glitch killed him [Mad] [Mad]

Now, I'm not sure if this is original or not. I haven't actually discussed movesets with anyone but my best friend (who only suggested an item for a fanfic alakazam) and my little cousins (the eldest of whom, at age 9, being a better trainer than I was at 12, despite having the same playing style).

But, back when I first started playing Silver, I had this stroke of freaking genius idea for a Lugia moveset, because Lugia was on my mind a lot (I named mine after a guy I liked at the time, who was also my boss back at Psypoke. The moveset is very fitting to his personality). The moveset seemed unique at Psypoke.com, at least.

David the Lugia (AKA ASSHOLE) @ Soft Sand
Aeroblast
Psychic
Recover
Earthquake

This is obvious. Straight-up damage dealing. Aeroblast and Psychic for STAB, Recover for HP recovery, obviously, and Earthquake to get rid of those damn pesky electrics and houndooms. And I'm sure it could leave a dent, if not a big one, on a Tyranitar.

And yes, I know, Lugia is cheap. I'm cheap. So sue me.

Of course, I have other Pokemon on that team too. Like:

Pyra the Houndoom (AKA the Bitch) @ Pink Bow
Flamethrower
Crunch
Iron Tail
Return

Straight-up damage. I just slapped Iron Tail on there because I needed someone with a steel attack, and Return 'cuz she loves me (She's the daughter of my starter Typhlosion, named after a former friend of mine.)

And... My other Pokemon on that team are incomplete and kinda suck.

Oh well.

Umbreon: Bide doesn't work too well against people, as when you use it, people will take the opportunity to power up, destroy your stats, recover, or anything else, basically giving them a free 2-3 turns.

Flareon: Even when you max out his attack, he only gets on average 124 damage out of quick attack on an average defense poke (I used 278 for average). That's a 3-4 hit KO on most pokes, and anyone with a special attack will destroy it in that time, as will a ground.

Parasect: Being a fire-type magnet as he is, he doesn't really need sunny day to lure them out. Put return over it and pass it some agility (ariados works well for underused, with spider web and agility). That was on an old underused team of mine and did really well.

Quagsire: Screwed against flying, but deal with them with somebody else.

Charizard: I really recommend a mintyrest here over fly, and possibly wing attack over rock slide, although I really prefer Swords dance, EQ, flamethrower, wing attack with leftovers.

Smeargle: Rock throw needs to go. Keep spikes, add recover, horn drill, and super fang/toxic/mirror coat/charm/something else.

Gengar: Last time I checked, he couldn't learn T-wave. Use psychic, destiny bond, or counter over it.

Snorlax: He really shouldn't be using special other than to take out steels. For a fun set, might try defense curl, rollout, rest, DT/something to kill rock-resistant pokes, or even BD/curse, rest, hyper beam, quake/sub. Might turn out interesting. Or try body slam over hyper beam and fire blast over psychic.

Hitmontop: can't think of anything for him at the moment.

I'd still like a rate or 2 for mine.

I think you really underestimate the power of the set I suggested. Snap on Leftovers and Spore first turn. Next turn, Sub. If they switch out, you can still Spore them (Assuming no Sleep Clause) and they'll only take out the Sub. Sub again if they switched. Once you're set with Sub and a Sleeping opponent, Swords Dance twice to max out attack. HP Rock will take out everything good against sect. Only problem is rocks and steels.

Smeargle's rock throw is because spikes dont touch fliers and it has more pp to take them out

Gengar can learn T-wave in RBY

Shadow Ball and EQ work off Lax's Attack and cover his weaknesses, so meesa lieks those now better than EQ and Psychic

Lets make Thumbsie happy and rate his pokes

Duggy: his sub will get pummeled and u will have just wasted lots of life. replace sub with HP Ice/Fire

Smeargle: one word- ghosts u wont touch em with HD. no real ideas so just dont really use this against em

Vapor: Use surf for stab. Zap wont take enough damage from IB

Champ: w00t

gyarados: genius

draggy: somewhat standard

gengar: most t-tars and waks would handle this thing, so go with giga drain

Jshadias: Mine is set up so that with agility it can sweep everything pretty much, and with agility it won't need sub. If you don't have or want agility, yours would work better simply because mine isn't set up to survive without it. I didn't underestimate it, I just stated that with proper setup, I think mine works better. Also, everyone I battle insists on sleep clause.

Attackofthedittos: Thumbsie??? WTF??? On dugtrio, the idea is to switch into an electric, sub on the switch, screech if it will KO with 1 screech, or I might just put fissure over screech too. Gengar has counter to deal with T-tar (I think he can survive a quake, and just have to pray he doesn't use crunch.), and giga drain won't save him against Wak anyway. As for ghosts with smeargle, spore them, then switch.

Mew- Thunder Wave, Roar, Transform/Softboiled, Explosion @Lefties/MiracleBerry

Lay down some Spikes and Para-shuffle. When you get to that Heal Beller.. BOOM! =D Speed's an issue considering Celebi and Milly have the same speed as Mew. You can always get lucky and go first or hit 'em with T-wave on a switch... maybe. The other problem is that it's an 00ber. Hard to actually use when 00ber ban is normally in effect. =/ Transform's for fun.. find a pokemon you like in the process, then grab it and use it against them. Softboiled if you're really set on para-shuffle. Someone may have done this already, but I know I at least thought this up on my own.. =/

Blissey- Curse, Counter, Double-Edge, Softboiled @Lefties

Heh. I do believe I was the first to actually give a Counter-Cursey a try. =P Has 6-0ed a few teams, too. =D Screwed by Skarm, though.

I've made a few others, but I can't remember them at the moment..

Gengar CANNOT learn T-Wave in RBY. If it could, it would've been a lot more popular.

what about this set....

Dodrio @ Miracle Berry

Rage
Steel Wing
Endure
Flail

Rage, then endure, then flail or steel wing. I know drill peck is awesome normally but this covers up a nasty rock weakness, not to mention that ice is also weak to steel attacks. Miracle Berry is obvious. His speed is like 5th or 6th in the game, flail gets stab, and his attack isn't so shabby either. Steel wing is sort of a questionable move in general use, and the rage boost may be a little small, but thats really it as far as flaws. So, what do you think?

First of all, Rage will NOT boost the power of the other attacks. Also, he will likely not be able to take out a whole lot without some kind of boost, or he will get taken out by something faster. In conclusion: It sucks. I've got a similar thing going though, I'll let you know when it is absolutely perfected.

I certainly wouldn't say it sucks quite so quickly as all that.. it's just not quite optimized as of yet. Considering it's fast, has a very solid ATT stat, and gets STAB on flail it'd be solid as is, even with the wasted Rage slot. Drop Rage for Agility just in case you run into something faster, and probably Steel Wing for some other filler, likely the aforementioned Drill Peck - if you run into a rock-type your best bet is to simply switch out.

Psychic
Mimic

Most attacks that Mew mimics can be very useful to it, Like say Crunch, Thunderbolt, Surf, just to name a few.

Smeargle@Bright Powder

Swagger
Screech

I've gotten this to work....when it did it left the opponent speechless.

Aerodactyl>Leftovers
Substitute
Mimic
Fire_blast
Earthquake

Start with substitute, mimic spikes, spore, whatever. I got bellydrum once.

Blastoise>Mint_berry
Haze
Roar
Rest
Blizzard/Hydro_pump

Haze/Roar utility for things that like to curse/roar like kanga. Lasts forever in battles, Blizzard on the switch for zapdos or if you use H-pump.

Kanga>Leftovers
Attract
Body_slam
Curse
Roar

Dead to ghosts but it's extremely annoying with paratraction, and great defence. I usually just bodyslam things until I get a para, then I attract and they will probably switch giving me a free curse, and just work it from there.

Politoed>Mint_berry
Counter
Surf/hydro-pump
Amnesia
Rest

Because of his already high special defence, most people won't hesitate to attack it directly, counter it and rest up. If not you can just amnesia up rest then counter.

Blastoise @ leftovers
Haze
Swagger
Attract
Surf

Confatuation, haze away raised attack, or haze just for haze.

Snorlax @ mint berry
Belly drum
Rest
Earthquake
Hyper beam

Not a substitute for curselax, or any lax, just a possibly fun set. Belly drum, mintyrest, kill. ONLY use with DTs passed. Don't say curselax is better, I know that. This is just a fun set.
