As you know, the effects of an AP boost can devastate several of the opponent's Pokemon. However, this only occurs fairly rarely. But what if a team was completely based around the Ancient Power attack? The boost would occur almost for sure every single game. And with a fairly wide variety of Pokemon learning the attack, it wouldn't be an all rock team. That is what this team is based around. Possible candidates: Omastar Kabutops Aerodactyl Corsola Charizard Dugtrio Exeggutor Marowak Meganium Feraligatr Quagsire Dunsparce Piloswine Donphan Tyranitar Venusaur Smeargle
My choices: Aerodactyl Corsola Marowak Quagsire Charizard Exeggutor
Aerodactyl @ Leftovers Ancient Power Earthquake Whirlwind Toxic My old starter.
Corsola @ Leftovers Curse Amnesia Ancient Power Surf Tank.
Marowak @ Thick Club Ancient Power Eathquake HP Bug Swords Dance AP's just to fit the theme.
Quagsire @ Leftovers Ancient Power Body Slam Earthquake Surf Sweeper.
Charizard @ Mint Berry Swords Dance Ancient Power HP Flying / Earthquake Rest I'll probably stick with quake for rocks and electrics.
Exeggutor @ Leftovers Ancient Power Synthesis Psychic Explosion

AP boosts are rare...and with all those grounds/rock/fire pokemon on your team you will probably get ko'd quick with waters/ices even with the ap boosts. It is an ok strategy....but you'll need luck...and maybe a baton passer. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Yeah, like SpunkDawg said, a team with a water Pokémon that knows Surf and Ice Beam + an allright grass typ would probably bring that team down before you get your AP boost's. [ 07-15-2002, 03:14 AM: Message edited by: PKMN Master FRAZZE ]

Its an okay idea, but Quaggy needs to go.
Replace with: Tyranitar @leftovers E-quake Return AP fire blast/surf
Far better than quaggy and could be modded to include crunch as a psychic counter

Charizard and Marowak can't have Swords Dance and Ancientpower at once. Of this I am almost completely positive. And why doesn't Corsola have Recover? The worst thing ever is to have your Aerodactyl get an AP boost while at 20 HP.
And yeah, Water/Ice attacks cause AP teams trouble... You should invest in a Lapras or something to help deal with them. Make sure it has Thunderbolt and Rest. (Sleep Talking Lapras are pure evil. You pretty much need a Zapdos to take them out reliably, and even then it can be iffy.)
Aerodactyl is no Whirlwinder. Sure it resists Normal, but tell that to a Curselax. It won't be able to do it more than twice. Put Wing Attack on it and use it as your anti-Grass. Corsola, Marowak and Quagsire (and Tyranitar if you go that route) are all weak to Grass, and several of them pack Ancientpower so Charizard has to watch its step too. (Gambit sent HOUOU! CELEBI used ANCIENTPOWER! Gambit withdrew HOUOU! Etc.) I once had Shadow Ball on my Exeggutor/Celebi to help it deal with other Exeggutor (and Starmie for that matter; I haven't used Giga Drain in ages). I'm sure it would have worked a little better with an AP boost. ^_^; ~Uiru

Exeggutor ~Explosion ~AP ~Psychic ~Synthesis =/= legal go with AP psychic Synthesis/leech seed ang giga drain with leftovers
Quagsire is NOT A SWEEPER
Not using Zards Sp.Atk is a shame
Corsola is SOOOOOO dead 1 giga drain from a Exeggutor
Marowak could work, but try dropping quaggy for an agi BPer so it WILL work I realize no BPers can Agility AND AP so...use Scizor with Agility BP 2 of Swords dance/wing attack/steel wing/HP ROCK/BUG put it over Quaggy

And why doesn't Corsola have Recover? The worst thing ever is to have your Aerodactyl get an AP boost while at 20 HP. Both have leftovers for a reason.

Sure it resists Normal, but tell that to a Curselax. It won't be able to do it more than twice. Put Wing Attack on it and use it as your anti-Grass. HP Flying > Wing Attack. I'll think about replacing Whirlwind. The best thing about Aerodactyl is it 0wns Forretress so hard... Huh, so it is. I guess it was just Celebi then.
Recover > Leftovers
Oh yeah. I have a perfect Flying Power Aerodactyl. *is proud of himself* ~Uiru [ 07-15-2002, 11:00 PM: Message edited by: Uiru ]

Updated Version
Aerodactyl @ Leftovers Ancient Power Earthquake HP Flying Toxic
Corsola @ Leftovers Curse Amnesia Ancient Power Surf People often make the mistake of letting this guy get COMPLETELY set up. Very, very bad mistake. I took down a Psych Up Espeon at the expense of all my Ancient Power PP but one. I then OHKOd a Haze Draggy, but was taken by something else.
Marowak @ Thick Club Ancient Power Eathquake HP Bug Swords Dance
Quagsire @ Leftovers Ancient Power Body Slam Earthquake Surf Doesn't work perfectly, but works OK.
Charizard @ Mint Berry Swords Dance Ancient Power HP Flying / Earthquake Rest
Exeggutor @ Leftovers Ancient Power Synthesis Giga Drain Psychic Works.
Overall, the team has fared very well. It even took down a nasty little DT/Curse/Attract/PAR combo and would have gone one for the win but the opponent quit on his last poke. Of course, the Attract and PAR wore off after the afflicted poke got KOd . But that is a NASTY combo. And I almost got swept by a Jumpluff because of it XD But the team has had no problems with any type in particular, so those predictions are incorrect. A couple edits: I changed Corsola's Surf to HP Rock for Curse power. I really want to replace Quagsire, but not with a Tyranitar. Would this be a suitable replacement? Feraligatr @ Mint Berry Ancient Power Surf Ice Beam Rest
I'm also thinking about ditching Minty Rest for Leftovers/Eathquake.
