Well, well, well. I'm back at Pokemon. I guess you can only play so much NHL 2001 and Final Fantasy Tactics.

Anyhow, I was messing around with my Gold cart team, and I want to pull my boring Stantler for something else. The Pokemon I wanna use is Scyther. It's been so long though, I can't think of a good moveset. Can anyone hit me up with a suggestion that probably doesn't involve Baton-Pass? Just an offensive set would be fine, as I'm just starting on the original 8 gyms in the story mode. Thanks much.

Well, I traded over a Scyther last night that I had on Silver, and I forgot it was holding the Metal Coat thing, so it evolved on trade to Scizor.

Upset by this, I just subbed in Meganium for all it's worth. Here's the set I have on my Grass pal, if anyone cares:

Meganium
-Razor Leaf
-Body Slam
-Synthesis
-Ancient Power (via some sick breeding)

Something is gonna go for Light Screen one of these days though. Who knows...

Here's the Meganium I have:

Meganium (female)
---leftovers
leech seed
synthesis
toxic
Protect
-------------

It's designed to work well off of a pb'd mean look, as you can then switch in Pokemon to benefit from Toxic Seed after it has gone a few turns, to regain health. Haven't had a chance to use it yet though...

Has anyone given Swords Dance Meganium a look? It looks fairly solid, with Ancient Power and Earthquake at its disposal, just curious if anyone has any experience...

This is a Meganium I have used with SD...

Meganium@Leftovers
Swords Dance
Body Slam
Earthquake
Giga Drain

Nidoking popularized the set a while back, he calls it a Body Dancing Meganium

Unfortunately it isn't possible to breed both Ancientpower and Swords Dance onto Meganium at the same time, and to be effective with Swords Dance Meganium really needs a Rock attack to damage those Pokemon that switch into it when it uses Swords Dance. The best it can do is Rock HP and Earthquake, with Synthesis and Leftovers, or Mysterryberry to give Synthesis more PP.

Damn, hadn't checked it out in that detail. Oh well, if it requires cheap ass Powers to be effective it isn't worth it. Body Slam blows.
