I've *finally* dabbled into GS, what with no CS to play over this break, so I figured why not actually use this forum to help my team?

Plus, clinging to "rby is better cuz its old sk00l fku!!" is something I wanna stop doing, as GS is definitely superior and I have reason to not be lazy anymore.

SpaceDog initially gave me these ideas, and I've altered them a bit with others' input.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
T-Bolt
D-Peck
HP Ice
Rest

Miltank @ Leftovers
B-Slam
H-Bell
Psych Up
M-Drink

Suicune @ Leftovers
Surf
I-Beam
Roar
Rest

Eggy @ Leftovers
Psychic
G-Drain
S-Powder
M-Light

'Lax @ Leftovers
Return
Curse
E-Quake
Rest

Scizor @ Leftovers
HP Bug
S-Dance
Agility
B-Pass

Yeah, I know most/all are standards, but sheesh, give the newbie a break! If there's any input at all you guys have for these admittedly common pokes, I'd appreciate hearing it.

well i kinda helped you out a bit on irc, but i never got an in-depth look into your team...so i'll rate...

Zapdos

*You were wondering if HP water would work better than HP ice...actually, since HP ice has become SO STANDARD on it that Tyranitar no longer ph33rz zappy...HP water can end Tyranitar's reign of terror....well....it can "STING" Tyranitar a little...which can be quite useful...just make sure you have Drill Peck for the grasses....

Miltank

*Great, you need the Heal Bell in order for your resters to keep Leftovers as their item...Miltank should keep body slam over return IMHO...i once went for power over the Body SLam paralysis effect...and it cost me a match against an Espeon....So keep Body Slam...the Paralysis effect is worth it....

Suicune

*I would say use Mirror Coat like EeveeTrainer does...but Spacedog is right when he says that people expect it too much....so keep Ice Beam....ice Beam can help you a bit against dragonites...which i often had trouble with when using EeveeTrainer's Suicune (Surf/mirror Coat/Roar/Rest)...

Exeggutor

*Hmm...nah...get rid of moonlight....your recovery is Giga Drain...and if you're still not satisfied, use Leech Seed over Giga Drain....you'll need Explosion for the Snorlax/Blisseys you'll meet in battles....i actually suggest you use Exeggutor as a starter to scare off Lead Snorlax....of course you don't explode first...you psychic to see if it uses curse...because if i remember correctly Exeggutor's explosion brings snorlax to 41%health after one curse...

Exeggutor *LEFTOVERS*
-Psychic
-Sleep Powder
-Giga Drain/Leech Seed
-Explosion

Snorlax

*Indeed....Curselax is a tough pokemon...and not many teams actually defeat him EASILY>...there are many counters for curselax...in fact many teams are built around defeating it...but i think you should keep it anyways, just because it's one of the toughest pokemon out there....Return can be replaced with Double-Edge for power...but i found that using a Cursed Double-Edge on Blissey is a killer with the recoil...so return actually might be worth it....keep your set....

Scizor

*Hmm....if you want a NON-BATON PASSING SCIZOR, i'd suggest using HP ROCK/HP Fighting somewhere on there...but if you want a baton passer use Return...

BATON PASSING SCIZOR

Scizor *Leftovers*
-Return
-Sword's Dance
-Agility
-Baton Pass

*Of course you'll baton pass an agility and Sword's dance to either zapdos for drill peck or snorlax for return

Melee Combat Scizor

Scizor *LEFTOVERS*
-Hidden Power (FIGHTING)/HP (ROCK)
-Sword's Dance
-Agility
-Return

i'd personally use HP Rock to work with Return....

good luck Jumpman, nice to see you are trying out GSC

Zapdos: That guy is right, put HP-Water over Ice. Ice is only for Electric types when they can't strike Grass types, which Zapdos can with a STABbed Drill Peck.

Miltank: I think Miltank should have Earthquake because it takes care of the types it's offensively weak against, for the most part anyway. Put it over Psych Up.

Suicune: Pretty nice. Mirror Coat is a good investment to go somewhere though. Ice Beam is good, it beats Dragonite. I know, mine just got beaten 10 minutes again by a Suicune's Ice Beam. ::Sigh::.

Exeggutor: I say put Explosion over Giga Drain. Nice and strong, Giga Drain is nice and WEAK. Sleep Powder works pretty good, Sleep 'Em and Explode in there face. Moonlight isn't such a bad idea, pure recovery is nice. Leech Seed can be switched away and Giga Drain is horribly weak, so you're better off with the Moon.

Snorlax: Standardness. ::Strangles EspeonNidoking:: HOW DARE YOU! RETURN IS GOOD! BETTER THAN D-E! WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO AGAINST A CURSING WIGGLY OR A SOFTBOILED BLISSEY WHO SOMEHOW MANAGE TO SURVIVE?!?!?!?!?!?!?! ::Calms down::. Sorry about that moment of lunacy, I get so mad when people say to use D-E instead of Return.

Scizor: More standardness.

Giga Drain is not that weak on Eggy. As a comparison, it deals more damage to a Water Pokemon than a T-Bolt from Starmie or Dragonite...
And it's almost as powerful as Draggy's Wing Attack and T-Tar's Ancient Power, which are pretty standard.

That's only by calculations. In real life, if you go out in PS2 you're not going to do as much with Giga Drain as you think. Not NEARLY as much as you think. I know these things and you're DEFINITLEY not going to get that far with a Giga Drain.

Giga Drain is great against anything that it's supereffective against. Giga Drain from an Eggy can 2HKO a Starmie. I'd consider that pretty damn nice.

Yes, but a Raikou or Zapdos' T-Bolt can 2HKO a Starmie and do even more damage than Exeggutor's Giga Drain as well. Giga Drain is also only good against SE things, otherwise it's weak.

D21: Use a fun team.

LOL, I know, I know...but a fun team won't exactly get me to learn GS very fast. Maybe when I get the hang of this stuff.

I'll change Zap's HP to Ice, but I like my Milly's Psych Up—it completely backfired some dude's plans to B-Pass an Agility and two SD's to a some poke I forget, cause I just copied his Scizor's copied stats and went on to sweep three of his pokes, with the help of a B-Slam PAR as well. So, in conclusion, I like B-Slam over 'Quake (with it's STAB and PAR chances) and how P-UP may throw a monkey wrench into my foes' plans.

Now with Eggy, I'm liking the Psychic/G-Drain/S-Powder/'Splozn. I also liked EN's suggestion of making it my started. I lead Eggy in RBY, with basically that same set, only S-Spore over G-Drain. (I nearly reach orgasm at the thought of a Psychic/G-Drain/S-Powder/Moonlight Eggy in RBY...) I realize, though, with his completely assfucked SD now, he hasn't the tankish staying power he once had, and 'Splozn may just be better over M-Light—as EN said, my recovery is G-Drain, and it *should* be a halfhearted attempt at a recovery if I'm intending on Moobing anyway, due to Eggy's aforementioned lack of a real staying power now.

Hmmm...Return over HP-Bug, eh? I might just try it—it *would* take advantage of 'Zor's SD's, and I may not have to switch out all that soon anyway.

Thanks alot, guys; I'll now head off to gsbot and get my ass handed to me anyway somehow.

Ok, I've *just* gotten rid of Suicune for an annoying Blissey (how could I ever pass her up when Chansey is my fav?) with the set Counter/L-Screen/Reflect/S-Boiled. Plus my Zappy has HP Water now, my Eggy has 'Splozn over M-Light and my 'z0r has Return over HP Bug.

Oh, and if any poke on my team would benefit holding another item, do tell.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO COUNTERSTRIKE OVER THE BREAK GOD DAMN YOU.

Scizor: Stick with HP Bug. IIRC it's just as strong as Return with STAB, and it's more versatile type-wise. With SD, there shouldn't be anything it can't deal with, save for things that you shouldn't be fighting in the first place.

Zapdos: GAH PROLE UNPROTECTED REST. Give it Mint Berry, you won't be entirely dependent on Miltank and won't look like an unbridled cockmonkey for having a team with six Leftovers.

Miltank: Try Return over Body Slam, the extra power should be worth it considering that Miltank has to stay as far away from the front line as possible.

Blissey: Meeh, I suggested that set to you over AIM..

Egger: If you want a Sleep user, I'd go with Jumpluff. Egger isn't worth it IMHO, though the Pojoers like to use them.

Lax: Meeh. If you aren't seeing many Misdreavus, drop Earthquake for Counter or Fire Blast (I prefer the latter). Oh, and Double-Edge over Return (screw recoil, Snorlax has enough HP).

That Alakazam you mentioned over AIM today, how about using that instead of Zapdos? Psychic, Barrier, Counter and Recover sounds like a killer set..

95 x 1.5 = 142.5
70 x 2 = 140

There's no really good target in your team for BPing with scizor, other than lax, and since it curses you dont really need the bug thing there. Put skarmory over it

Hmmm...let's see.

About Scix0r, Silver_Persian may just be right...I've actually had the opportunity to pass two SD's and an Agility once, and I'm like "heh heh heh...." Then I looked my options, and I'm like . So Skarm may be the better option...or maybe a Machamp or that 'Zam I like if I don't wanna drop Zappy.

Ah ain't touching mah Milly, ya hear! :-* B-Slam works wonders with the PAR. And I like my Eggy too.

As for Lax, EQ saved me against a Gengar today, and was helpful against the same trainer's 9-tales. (Even though she'd let Lax get a HUGE four-curse boner. ) Although I *do* have a lack of fire attack on my team.

I wonder if 'Zam's worth it...Scix0r's B-Passing is definitely not an integral part of my particular team. So it looks like either 'Zam or that Skarmory...goot set for Skarm, please?

Oh, and SP, where are you getting your 95 from? Isn't DP's BP 80?

Skarm: Drill Peck, Whirlwind, Curse, Rest?

I'd alternate them..either would provide semi-adequate protection against Snorlax/Marowak. I'd be tempted to go with Kazam though, he did save your ass in that battle against me.
